"Katsuragi-kuuuun~" Chie Hoshinomiya, who had just poured herself a cup of instant coffee, walked past Katsuragi Ren and called out her nickname for him. "What can I do for you?"
"Yes, Hoshinomiya-sensei."
"And what's that?" Hoshinomiya stirred her coffee slowly with a spoon, asking with interest.
"I want to keep a cat. I was wondering how many points it costs to get a pet permit."
Hoshinomiya was stunned. What is this kid doing? He came to the office just to ask about a pet permit? She thought he was here to discuss class matters. She was even planning to drop some hints about the exams.
"Eighty thousand points." Seeing Katsuragi Ren acting so frivolously, Hoshinomiya was annoyed.
She gave him a high price that would hurt him this month, hoping to make him drop the ridiculous idea. In all her time at this school, no student had ever asked about this. Points were everything here. Most students barely had enough for themselves, so who would have extra to raise a pet?

"Okay, Sensei. I'll be going then." Katsuragi Ren was a little sad he didn't get to pinch her cheek, but he obediently got up from the chair and left the office.
"That Katsuragi-kun is really amazing. He understands that rule so perfectly," Hoshinomiya said as she watched him leave. [Points can buy anything at this school.]
Of course, 100,000 points couldn't really buy the right to tease a teacher. It was just Hoshinomiya's small reward for him seeing the true nature of that rule.
