Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Blood Ties

JAEMIN POV

Adrenaline pumps through my veins as I search through (Y/N)'s apartment for an intruder... At the sound of low muttering and a large thud, I flick on the light to find...

 "Jaehee? What're you doing here?"

"Surprise! I'm moving to Chicago. Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?"

"This is (YF/LN). (Y/N), this is my sister Jaehee."

"...Hello. It's nice to finally meet some of Jaemin's family. He doesn't talk about you much."

"That's fair. Most of our fam isn't worth talking about... But enough about me. From the looks of things, I take it I have to find another place to stay?"

I grimace and explain to (Y/N).

"Sorry. I forgot I gave Jaehee a spare key years ago for when she visits. I'll have the locks changed first thing in the morning."

"There's no need to be so dramatic. I wouldn't have come here if I'd known the place was occupied."

Jaehee rolls her eyes and hands (Y/N) the spare key.

"Don't worry about it. Why don't you take the guest room for now, and we'll sort everything else out in the morning?"

"Thanks, (Y/N). You'll barely even notice I'm here. Night!"

Since this is technically (Y/N)'s apartment, I allow her to make the call, but I'm not happy about it as the two of us climb back into bed.

"I'm sorry to involve you in all this. I never would've brought you here if I'd known Jaehee would barge in like this. I completely forgot about the spare key."

"I don't mind, Jaemin. Really. She seems like a sweet kid."

I nod and curl up next to (Y/N)'s tantalizing curves to fall back asleep, the adrenaline finally abating. I wrap my arm around her waist.

"Thank God it was just Jaehee. If anything had happened to you..." I whisper.

 "Hmm? Did you say something?"

 "Nothing. Go back to sleep."

I tighten my hold and try to drift off, but I have a restless night ahead of me.

The next morning, I'm so tired I end up staying in bed much later than usual... Until the clatter of dishes from the kitchen finally wakes me. I get dressed, then make my way to the kitchen to find (Y/N) and Jaehee elbows- deep in breakfast prep.

"I know it's hard to believe considering how much he loves the sound of his own voice, but it's true."

 "What the hell, Jaehee?"

"I was just telling (Y/N) about that time you mispronounced 'prestigious' in the debate finals in middle school."

 "I didn't mispronounce it. I had laryngitis."

"Either way, it sounds like you were a sweet kid."

They've only spent one morning together and already they're getting along way too well for my peace of mind...

"No one's ever called Na Jaemin 'sweet'. Enough stalling, Jaehee. What happened last night?" I ask.

"Well, remember when I called you the other day? You told me I should stick it out at home? I just couldn't do it, Jaemin. Dad only got worse after that, but I did take your other advice to heart."

 "My other advice?"

"You said to find an exit strategy and starting working toward it. So I spent every penny I had on a plane ticket. Since I can't touch my trust and I'm sure Dad has cut me off, I have nothing except my suitcase... And it feels fantastic. I'm finally free!"

"Wow...I can't imagine doing something like that at your age."

"We need some ground rules. If you're going to stay in Chicago, it'll be on my terms, got it? I'll give you a place to live, but only temporarily. And you'll need to start pulling your own weight. That means getting a job."

 "Like a job job?"

"It'll be great. My current job changed my life. I've never been happier, even though I'm just a speechwriting intern."

"Hey, that's not a bad idea... I think I'd like to be an intern. Try to get in on the ground floor somewhere."

I can see the wheels in her head turning...

"I can't hire you at the firm."

"I know. It's not like I could do anything useful there until I finish my degree. But maybe you can help me with one of your other ventures..."

Her gaze drops to the front page of the sports section of the paper, and I realize exactly where this conversation is headed...

"I'm gonna get an internship with Chicago's best baseball team! It just so happens I have an in with one of the owners."

"Jaemin, you own a professional baseball team?" (Y/N) asks with a shocked expression.

"It's a long-term financial investment. What Jaehee failed to mention is that it's part of a larger portfolio of my investments."

"Bo-ring. (Y/N) doesn't want to hear about investment portfolios. She wants to know about partying with professional athletes!"

I sigh and pinch the bridge of my nose. Jaehee has been here less than a day, and I can already feel the two of them teaming up against me.

 "...Fine." I sigh.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you! And it just so happens there's a game this afternoon..."

"Yes, yes, I'll make a few calls and get us in the owner's box. But I'm just making introductions for you. Actually impressing them is up to you."

"Please. That's the easy part. I'll be running that place in no time."

As soon as we arrive at the stadium, Jaehee is beside herself with excitement. She practically vibrates as she jumps out of the car.

"Can you at least wait until I've come to a full stop? I haven't ran over any of my clients yet, and I'd like to keep it that way." Anderson blurts.

"Don't worry. I promise to tuck and roll. Are you coming up to the box with us?" Jaehee asks him.

"Not today. I'll have to keep an eye on the game from outside."

Anderson catches my eye and nods. He knows how important it is to stay vigilant until I know what Jay's up to. Once inside the stadium, I fall into step with (Y/N) while Jaehee hurries on ahead.

"Thanks for letting me tag along today." (Y/N) smiles up at me.

"I didn't realize I had a choice, once you and Jaehee united forces against me."

I slide my arm around her waist and allow my hand to slide down over the upper curve of her ass...

"I've never had a sub take my sister's side over mine before. This should be interesting."

 "Don't worry. I know who I belong to...Daddy."

"Say that again, (Y/N). Like you mean it this time."

"I belong to you, Daddy. I won't defy you again."

"Looks like Jaehee found the team's HR rep's office. I emailed her earlier, but I'd better go make official introductions."

"Sounds good. I'll wait for you here."

I enter the office to find Jaehee already chatting up the team's HR rep.

"Hey Gina. I see you've already met my sister Jaehee."

"I was just telling her that they should trade for that new pitcher from Seattle. With his injury history, we could get a multi-year contract for cheap." Jaehee informs.

"It sounds like you know your stuff..." Gina smiles.

"He's also the new spokesperson for the zero-emission transit authority plan. He's saved the planet millions in fuel waste already...and that's just in Washington."

"Really? I know the owners have been interested in reducing the team's and stadium's waste, right Mr. Na?"

"That's right, and you won't find a more passionate advocate than my sister."

"Sounds good to me. Passion is the one thing we require all our employees to have. Everything else is just a bonus."

Before they can dive deeper into their conversation, the team manager walks by and sticks his head into the office.

"Mr. Na! I thought that was you. Have you thought any more about my offer to throw the first pitch? All the other owners have done it this season, and we had a cancellation for today."

"Oh my God, Jaemin you have to do it with (Y/N)! She'd love it!" Jaehee jumps with joy.

Normally, I'd turn down the offer, but Jaehee has a point. (Y/N) would love it, and I love surprising her.

She's so sexy when I spoil her...and besides, she should get all the perks of coming to a ball game with an owner.

"Why not? How much time do we have before the first pitch?"

"About half an hour. I'll meet you on the field."

I nod goodbye to everyone and head out to find (Y/N). I spot her right where I left her, peeking out over the crowd with an expression of rapt excitement.

"I can't believe we get to watch the game from the best seats in the house."

"Just wait until you see what else I've arranged. Come."

I lead (Y/N) through the maze of hallways and tunnels down to the entrance used by the players and coaches.

"Are you sure we're allowed to be down here? We're right by the locker room!"

"Well, we'll need to go through here to get to the field."

 "We're going onto the field?"

"How else do you plan to throw the first pitch?"

"Are you serious? That's so cool!"

As if on cue, a couple players exit the locker room right in front of us.

"Hey Jaemin, it's been a minute."

"Last time you came to a game, I scored two home runs. 'Bout time you came back."

"Like you haven't been on a hot streak since the All-Star break. Benny, Xavier...I'd like you to meet (YF/LN). She's my personal good luck charm."

I wrap a possessive arm around (Y/N)'s waist.

"Maybe some of that luck'll rub off on the team." Xavier laughs.

Just then, the team manager appears at the end of the tunnel near the field entrance.

"Boys, time to circle up. And Jaemin, I think they're waiting for you on the field."

I nod and wave goodbye to the players before leading (Y/N) down the hall.

"I don't know how you can just hang out with celebrities like it's no big deal."

"It is no big deal. They're just two men doing their jobs, the same way you do every single day."

"You're so used to this lifestyle that you can't even see it. This is amazing, Jaemin. You're amazing."

I try to fight the swell of pride that fills me as (Y/N)'s compliment hangs between us. We emerge from the tunnel onto the grass and (Y/N)'s smile gets even bigger.

 "Oh my God..."

Partially to distract myself and partly because I still have a few minute before the first pitch, I pick up a ball and toss it to (Y/N).

"So, what, you brought me out here to play catch?"

"No, little lamb. I want you to warm up. Show me what you've got."

I draw up behind her and run my hands along her arms. The sweet scent of her perfume wafts toward me as I drop my mouth close to her ear.

"The trick is to give yourself a wide, firm stance."

I gently kick her feet, nudging her legs apart. Dropping my hands to her hips, I hold her fast.

 "Like this?"

"Good. Breathe in and out. Feel the air fill your lungs."

"I'm not sure this is helping... I feel like everyone is staring at us."

"They're not your concern. The only person you need to please is me."

Guiding her hips in a half rotation, I continue our lesson.

"It's all about moving in one fluid motion. Sweep your arm back, focus on a fixed point, and let it go."

 "Now?"

I bite gently on her leaping pulse. She gasps and almost loses her grip on the ball.

 "Yes, now."

(Y/N)'s whole body trembles as she winds her arm and executes a neat underhanded pitch.

 "That wasn't bad!" she smiles.

"I've trained you well. You can do almost anything on my command."

After a few more practice pitches, the teams trot out and line up in front of the dugout, getting ready to get the game underway.

 "Are you ready?"

(Y/N) casts an anxious look at the huge stadium packed with fans.

"There's uh, a lot of people watching us..."

"That's half the fun. I thought you were excited?"

"Yeah, but that was before I saw it was a sellout crowd..."

I glide a finger under her chin and urge her gaze to meet mine. I could command her to take part...or let her off the hook.

"I want to see you perform in front of all these people. You'll throw that pitch, (Y/N)...to please me."

(Y/N) whimpers softly but nods her understanding. That bravery...that resolve to trust in me no matter how hard it may be...it causes a hard knot to twist inside me.

"I'll do it, Daddy. For you."

 "That's my girl."

I drop a quick kiss on her lips as she makes her way over to the pitcher's mound. She casts a last nervous look over her shoulder, so I nod my encouragement. The crowd hushes as they introduce her over the speaker system. She gets into position, takes a deep breath, winds up...then lets the ball fly! The crowd cheers as the catcher captures it in his glove, but I have eyes only for (Y/N). Her eyes glimmer with pride...and something more.

I'd do anything to keep her looking at me that way...

(Y/N) and I make our way to our box, where most of the owners are already eating, drinking, and chatting.

"I'm sorry, but are they snacking on caviar? At a baseball game? Not exactly stadium food..."

"You don't even want to know what's in their red cups."

"Jaemin, darling. I haven't seen you at a game in ages."

I can feel (Y/N) stiffen as she recognizes the actress who kisses me on both cheeks. Apricott Persimmon is on her way to becoming America's latest sweetheart.

"But of course you'd come back with a bang, with a first pitch like that." she chuckles.

"You know I'm not one to half-ass anything."

"It's just not the same without you. Harry cornered me at the last game and spent the whole time pitching me his screenplay."

"Apricott, allow me to introduce the woman I'm seeing."

"Oh? Is the great Na Jaemin going steady? Impressive, (Y/N). Uh oh, I see Harry. I'll catch you two later."

As Apricott slips away, (Y/N) turns to me with a grin.

"I can't believe you just know random celebrities."

"Celebrities are my bread and butter. No one gets married—or divorced—with as much fanfare as they do."

I introduce (Y/N) around the box, and she chats amicably with each person she meets until...

"Guess who has two thumbs and just scored the job of her dreams?" Jaehee comes in cheering and hugging both (Y/N) and I.

 "I never doubted you, Jaehee."

"That's fantastic news. What'll you be doing?" (Y/N) asks.

"I pitched them my idea for a zero-waste recycling program for the stadium, and Gina couldn't wait for me to get started."

 "That's amazing, Jaehee."

"This deserves a celebration. Let me see if I can find us a bottle of champagne." I smile.

By the time I return, (Y/N) and Jaehee are deep in conversation, the game on the field all but forgotten...

"The worst part was she had no idea it was coming. Can you imagine? Your whole happy life just zipping along, and then BAM! "

"I can imagine it, actually. The same thing happened to me with my ex."

I halt a few steps away, the bottle of champagne hanging heavy in my grasp. There's no way Jaehee is saying what I think she's saying...

"Then you understand how hard it was on Jaemin. I never knew her, but she looked so happy in Jaemin's baby pics. Our dad sucked that joy right out of her—"

I slam the bottle of champagne onto the nearest table, my whole body coiling up tight. Jaehee has no right talking about my mom, and she knows it. I close my eyes and force a few deep breaths, hoping the influx of oxygen will help settle my anger... It doesn't.

This is why it's a bad idea to mix my private life and family... It gets way to messy.

"Jaehee. Cut it out right now."

"Jaemin, are you okay?" (Y/N) says with worry.

"No, I'm not okay. Jaehee, please tell me you aren't discussing my parents' marriage. That's my private business, not yours."

 "But—" Jaehee begins.

"You have no right to talk about that stuff. I don't want to hear my mom's name cross your lips ever again."

"It's my fault, Jaemin. Please don't take it out on your sister."

"Let's talk about something else, (Y/N)."

With an effort, I manage to get my emotions under control. To have my innermost secrets exposed to (Y/N)...and in such a way...

"It looks like we'll be heading into the fifth inning with a solid lead."

"Seriously? We're gonna talk about baseball now?" Jaehee asks with confusion in her voice.

"Unless there was something else you wanted to say...?" I furrow my brows.

 "Of course not."

The rest of the game passes in a blur. Someone pops the champagne, and we all toast to Jaehee's success. The team wins by a landslide. Conversation, however, remains stilted and awkward. I exit the stadium with as little fanfare as possible. As I approach the car, Jaehee pulls me aside

"I'm sorry about earlier, Jaemin. I wasn't trying to speak out of line, I swear."

I take a deep breath and let it out slowly...

"I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have let my anger get the better of me...but you know how I feel about opening up about our family history."

"I just assumed you'd already talked about it with (Y/N), seeing how close you two are and everything..."

 "Let's just forget it."

"You know, it's not the worst thing to open up and let people in..."

"That just proves how little you know of the real world."

Jaehee gives me a long look, then nods. The two of us catch up to (Y/N), who sneaks a few sideways glances at me...

"Are you okay? " (Y/N) asks quietly with concern.

I give her a stiff nod. As Anderson helps them into the car, I consider Jaehee's words. Maybe telling (Y/N0 about my parents wouldn't be the worst thing...

If anyone would listen without judgment, it's (Y/N).

I stop dead in my tracks, a cold fear clutching my heart and holding it fast.

No. I can't do that. I can never do that.

I've lived my life this way for a long time, and nothing is going to change that...not my little sister, not even (Y/N).

Later, after I've dropped Jaehee off at one of my other properties, (Y/N) and I step into the elevator at her apartment building, both of us tactfully avoiding the subject that's weighting heavily on our minds.

"I hope you had fun. The owner's box is always open if you want to go to another game."

"Jaemin...I know you don't want to talk about it, but I'm sorry about earlier."

A surge of something hot rises through me. Strangely enough, it's not anger...it's much more like affection.

"You have nothing to apologize for. I wasn't mad at you, and I don't want to hear you say you're sorry for something that wasn't your fault again."

(Y/N)'s mouth falls open in surprise, but not before I catch the spark of desire in her eyes.

"Of course, Daddy. It won't happen again."

"I mean it, (Y/N). You've tried my patience enough for one day."

I draw closer to her, practically daring her to speak. With a start, I realize that I want her to disobey, to beg for my forgiveness... I push (Y/N) against the back of the elevator as it starts to move up. As she gasps in surprise, I quiet her with a kiss.

 "Jaemin..."

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I know this kiss won't change anything, but I can't find it in me to care. I trail my hands up her sides, palming her chest through her clothes...

 "Yes..."

As I move to slide beneath the fabric, the elevator comes to a stop on the next floor. (Y/N) jumps away from me just as a couple shuffles inside with a friendly nod.

 "Good evening."

"Hi! Nice night tonight, huh?" (Y/N) blurts out nervously.

I hold back a chuckle as (Y/N) fumbles to adjust her clothes without being detected. She tries to slide to the opposite end of the elevator, but more people crowd inside, including one with a dog.

"Oop, looks like we've got a tight squeeze."

(Y/N) has no choice but to press her back against my chest as the elevator starts moving up. Her body promises heat everywhere it touches mine...

"Jaemin...I don't think I can't wait until we get home..." she whispers.

"You want to do this now? With all these people? "

(Y/N)'s breath hitches as she nods.

 "I trust you."

I lose no time in putting my plan into action. I pull my keys out...and pretend to fumble with them, letting them drop to the floor.

 "Whoops. How careless of me."

I bend down to pick them up, and as I stand, I allow my other hand to slide up between (Y/N)'s legs.

 "Ooohhh..."

She bites back a whimper as I continue moving under her skirt, past the sleek skin of her thighs, not stopping until I feel the intoxicating heat of her.

"Some weather we've been having lately, don't you think? Sultry and...wet."

 "Yes! "

"Now that you mention it, it has been rather humid. Don't you think, honey?" the neighbor asks.

Her partner nods. (Y/N) adjusts her stance, giving me greater access.

"This elevator ride is taking forever..."

The elevator stops halfway up the building to let off one of the riders. Under the cover of the doors opening and closing, I slip a finger under (Y/N)'s panties. She tries to hide her reaction but I can feel just how much she's affected.

 "(Y/N), you're dripping for me..."

"It's your fault... You got me all riled up! "

I rub against the slick heat of her, tracing the line of her slit with agonizing care. (Y/N) whimpers and does her best not to buck her hips, but it's obvious she wants more.

"What's wrong, (Y/N)? Are you feeling well?"

(Y/N) gasps as I press my thumb along her pleasure point.

 "Fine! I'm fine! "

"You do look a little flushed, dear..." the neighbor points out.

(Y/N) struggles not to react as I continue working her body, my fingers knowing exactly how to drive her wild. She takes her lower lip between her teeth. She is careful not to look at me, but I can feel just how much she likes this...how turned on she is by me touching her in front of all these people without them knowing. A wicked idea occurs to me...

"Damn. We forgot to check the mailbox on our way in. We have to go back down."

I grin at the man standing next to the buttons.

"Will you push the lobby button, please? We're expecting a package."

"Are you sure it can't wait until tomorrow, Jaemin?"

"Uh, what do you want me to do? I gotta get my dog home..."

"Take the elevator to the lobby first. I cant go upstairs without it. The lobby, please."

The man does as I command.

"You're doing this to torture me..."

 "Of course I am."

I start to move my hand against her again, using a light, teasing touch to prolong her pleasure.

"I could stay on this ride all night..."

I slip a finger deep inside of her, then pull out far enough to circle her button and push back into her heat. I follow this pattern again and again, faster as the elevator moves, slower as it stops to let other people off.

 "Jaemin..."

"Are you getting close, little lamb? "

 "You know I am..."

One by one, the other people on the elevator file out. By the time (Y/N) and I are alone inside again, she's practically sagging against me.

 "Finally."

I reach out to push the emergency stop button, halting the elevator in its tracks. I push her against the back wall with my hand still buried between her legs. I cover her mouth with mine, desperate to taste her. She mewls softly as my tongue pushes between her lips, her body yielding to mine.

 "Oh God..."

(Y/N) moans as I slide my hands up her body until her wrists are pinned above her head, my grip firm. She squirms against me, but I hold her tight against the wall.

 "Daddy!"

I lick at the hollow of her throat, loving the way her pulse leaps under my touch.

"You've been a very bad girl today..."

"I didn't mean to displease you, Daddy..."

I can tell from the tone of her voice and the way her body gives way against mine that she's not the least bit sorry...yet.

"You're getting awfully sure of yourself for a sub. It might be time to teach you a lesson on respect."

I transfer my hold on her wrists to one hand, freeing the other up to explore her body at will. With my hips driving into hers and my leg tight between her legs, she has no escape. I start off slow and gentle, cupping the side of her face and tickling down the line of her neck, enjoying each moan and sigh that escapes her perfect lips.

"You're far too covered up for my taste..."

I reach for her breasts, weighing the gentle swell of her curves and teasing her nipples through her clothes. With one swift, sure yank, I pull the neckline of her dress until the fabric gives way with a sharp tear.

 "Jaemin!"

I drop my mouth to her breasts. With a flick of my tongue, I taste every lush contour of her body until I find her nipple. She moans and arches into me, her body bucking against mine as I playfully tongue her peak.

 "You...ruined my...favorite outfit..."

I move to her other breast, treating it with the same teasing care.

"I'll buy you a dozen more just like it."

My own body is fully ready for pleasure by now, my length throbbing with a hard, aching need.

 "That's enough playing for now."

"Yes, yes. However you want me..."

"I want you against the wall."

I grab her around the waist and lift her up, her legs wrapping around my body to pull me even closer. I press her against the wall, my hips driving hard against hers.

 "Jaemin!"

I won't be satisfied until I'm deep inside you and you're screaming my name.

 "Yes, Daddy."

She reaches greedily for my belt buckle, her hands shaking as she pulls out my length.

 "Please, Jaemin. I need you."

I nod, and she positions me at her entrance, teasing herself with my member.

"I didn't give you permission to play."

 "But I—"

I reach between our bodies to brush her hand aside. I line myself up and enter her in one smooth motion, savoring the way her body takes me in. She cries out at the sudden sensation, her arms clinging to my neck as I drive into her again and again.

 "Yes, yes, yes! "

It doesn't take long for us both to hurtle right up to the edge, the dam threatening to break with every touch, every lick, every thrust. I know she can't hold back much longer and honestly, neither can I.

 "Cum for me, little lamb."

 "...Jaemin!"

Her pleasure crashes over her, causing her body to spasm against mine, triggering my own wave of ecstasy.

 "...(Y/N)!"

I give (Y/N) a few moments to compose herself before I help her adjust her clothes.

"You won't be a bad girl again, will you?"

Her lips curve in a smile against my lips.

"Not unless you want me to be, Daddy."

With a growl, I grab her around the waist and hit the button to get the elevator moving again. With the whole night ahead of us, there are so many different ways to be good...and bad.

I wake up the next morning in (Y/N)'s bed, her body nestled against mine. I brush my fingers along her cheek and watch her gentle breathing. A feeling of warmth washes over me, curling protectively over her sleeping form.

Don't worry, little lamb. I won't let anyone hurt you...

"I love you too much for that."

With a start, I realize I said that last part out loud. I freeze, scanning her face for any sign of waking.

No. No. This can't be happening...

My stomach feels like lead as I realize how close I was to ruining everything with those three stupid words.

What the hell is wrong with me? I can't break the most important rule of all.

I stalk to the bathroom for a cold shower, hoping the temperature will help me clear my head. After, I dress and join (Y/N) in the kitchen.

"Morning, Jaemin. I made some coffee, if you want."

Instead of taking the coffee, I fix my gaze above her head and say the words I've been dreading all morning. (Y/N) already knows so much about me, already cares so much... There's only one way to save her.

 "...We need to talk."
