Chapter 4 - Chapter 4, Vol 1: Interrogation

Kashka now stood trapped in the green spell and tried desperately to explain his situation.

"Listen to me! I really don't know what sick shit is happening here with you, but it's all a big misunderstanding! I have absolutely no idea what you mean by "aura" but I'm not one of those sick cultists, believe me! Shit, I was at my gaming console just a few hours ago, do you really think I'm one of those psycho guys!?" Kashka said in a panic and with all his powers of persuasion.

"Stop confusing us with your words, cultist! Nothing you say makes any sense! Do you really think that we believe you, that somehow "purely by coincidence" you have the aura of a powerful cultist of the Witcher's Church!? And not to forget in the forest... The cultists came to your aid when we immobilized you. Tell me, was that just one of those so-called "coincidences"?" Barmon answered slightly frustrated.

A moment of silence.

"Arghh, go on without me for a moment, I'll tell the guards to double up. I just don't think that this cultist has no sort of a plan. If anything, we should be even more vigilant now" Barmon said, leaving the room through an iron door.

"Well then, cultist. You should know one thing: if you don't cooperate with us voluntarily, we'll just torture you until you've told us every single detail, so just tell us what your goal is" Thressela said a little calmer and took a wooden chair, which she placed in front of the green magic circle prison and sat down opposite Kashka.

"that's no use anyway, Thressela. You know how these fanatics tick. Threats and torture won't help against them, they're just too broken in the head for that. If anything, they even start laughing at us" Gardiel said calmly.

"Please... I beg you... there must be a way I can convince you! anything!" Kashka said despairingly.

Thressela took a step closer to the green magic circle and now stood directly at its border.

"Hey Thressela, you shouldn't go too close to the circle! If you cross even one line, he'll try to take you hostage to get out of here!" another woman spoke frantically.

"It's all right, Vanaria. I'll pay close attention, don't worry... but if he tries anything, then pull me out of the circle as quickly as possible..." Thressela answered and briefly looked at the other 3 people, who nodded to her in understanding and were now very focused.

"All right... This is probably the stupidest decision of my life, but I'm going to come to you in the magic prison now... if you try anything, my friends will stop you immediately and your head will be on the ground faster than you can do anything about it" Thressela said, looking at Kashka.

"Wait, does that mean you finally believe me?" Kashka asked, his eyes were wide opened.

"I'm not sure, we'll probably find out in a moment... but I have a feeling about you that you're not lying completely" Thressela replied and took a deep breath.

She took a step into the magic prison and was now with Kashka.

"Uhh, that aura... it can be compared to that of the Inquisitors... wait, is he... no, if he were one, then we would all be dead already..." Thressela thought to herself.

"You see, I'm harmless and no danger to you!" Kashka said calmly.

Thressela still was pulling herself together not to faint because of the crushing aura. from her point of view she was standing in the middle of Kashka's aura of oppressive black smoke that surrounded him, which made her feel very nervious. besides that, she could barely breath the longer she stood in that aura of black smoke.

"All right... Tell... tell me your name... "said Thressela seemenly uncomfortable.

"I'm Kashka Yukaro, a 17-year-old teenager... And that's really all I am. I know this sounds a bit strange, but who were these guys in the woods earlier? I mean, you called them cultists" Kashka replied in a serious tone.

Thressela suddenly looked at Kashka, completely confused.

"Are you kidding?" she asked susbisous.

"You want me to believe that you don't know which organization the cultists from the forest belong to!?" Thressela asked serious.

"Eh yes..." Kashka answered, surprised at how shocked Thressela seemed at his question.

"Well, let's assume you tell the truth and for whatever reason you really don't know anything... The cultists you met in the forest are part of the "Witcher Church", a fanatical mass murder organization. As far as we know, the Witcher Church is fortunately leaderless at the moment, which is why their activities are rather low, but nevertheless because of the Inquisitors they are the kind of people you don't want to have as an enemy, that's for sure.".

"well, that... sounds really bad. I still don't understand why or how all this happens, but at least I know something about this world now... So the witcher church, why does this term sound familiar to me? Ah, it doesn't really matter..." Kashka thought to himself.

"listen, Kashka. I'm going to take your hand right to test a theory, alright?" Thressela said while trembling slightly.

"Huh? eh okay..." Kashka replied confused and streched out his right hand to Thressela.

Thressela hesitantly stretched out her hand, which almost touched Kashka's hand when suddenly the door to the room was torn open and Bormon came back into the room, his eyes widening when he saw Thressela in the spellbound circle together with Kashka.

The next moment he raised his hand.

"Zar Oroa!" he screamed whereupon a transparent blue long hand appeared, which grabbed Thressela and tore her out of the magic circle.

"BY THE GODDESS! ARE YOU COMPLETELY TIRED OF LIFE NOW, THRESSELA!?" he screamed angry at Thressela.

Before anyone could say react a loud explosion was heard from outside the room and a guard stormed through the iron door into the room.

"What's going on here!?" Bormon asked frantically.

"The... The cultists! They are here! they just destroyed the main gate! it.... it... there are dozens! Certainly at least eighty and it's also a..." the guard stopped in the middle of a sentence with excitement.

His entire body was shaking and the fear is clearly visible in his eyes.

Gardiel walked to the guard and put his hand on his shoulder.

"It's very important now that you tell us everything, even if you're afraid, ok?" Gardiel said to the guard, while screams and fighting sounds could be heard outside the room.

"There are dozens of cultists and... also..." the guard stopped briefly in the middle of the sentence.

"a bishop of the Witcher Church..." he replied, which left everyone in the room trembling for a moment except Kashka.

"Did you just say Bishop!?" Thressela asked in panic.

The guard nodded his head.

"By the goddess!" Bormon said shocked, turning to Kashka, who was still trapped in the magic circle.

"YOU! SO THAT WAS YOUR PLAN ALL ALONG! LET US CAPTURE YOU AND SOMEHOW BRING YOUR CULTIST FRIENDS TO US!" Bormor screamed extremly loud, kicking a nearby table through the room in anger.

Kashka didn't know exactly what to say now, since no one would believe him anyway. The whole situation just got even worse now for Kashka...
