Chapter Eight
Darkwood Pov.
"Interesting character," I whispered as the girl raced past the school premises towards her building.
"You mean the noble lady? Yeah she seems to be the new interesting student around the academy," Cole said as he also stared at her and I gave him a look that told him everything he needed to know.
Get your damn eyes off of her or I'll pluck it away. Until I was done with her, no one could touch her at all.
"Have you gotten everything I asked you to get?" I questioned and he nodded.
"Yes, it was really as you suspected." He informed me and I nodded as I collected the file and gave it a perusing glancing before a smirk tugged at my lips.
Interesting.
I passed it back to Cole and walked away, towards the building she had followed. Taking note of her sweet scent as I walked.
No one could see me as I walked past them, it was one of my special abilities and I used it to the fullest whenever I wanted to not be seen.
Which was countless times of course but I can't help it, the students were more of a following club than actual students around me due to my status.
As soon as I got there, I quickly located her room just by her scent and wasted no time in knocking at her door thrice, loudly of course.
"Who are you?" She barked as she pulled open the door just a tiny bit and I just stared at her, like really stared at her. She was in fact beautiful but she looked the same as any other day, except maybe the dressing sense got better? And something else about her felt off to me.
I just couldn't place it, but I will. Soon enough.
"I know what happened in the woods two days ago," I began and she just stared at me for a long minute before her eyes narrowed at me.
"So?" She finally asked and I fought back a smile, the cat was in the bag already. Now I just had to reel it in safely without alerting it.
"I want you to help me out with something, and I won't say a word." I offered, my hands pushing into my pockets as I took on a relaxed stance, waiting for her response.
What I didn't expect was that she took about five whole minutes to think about it then she burst into laughter, laughing so hard tears rushed down her cheeks and she wiped it away.
Her ears were red and looked quite cut- what was I even saying.
"Why are you laughing?" I found myself asking and the mirth she had before disappeared before she stepped up to me and closed the door behind her.
"Of course you won't say a word about it, because you don't know anything about it. That day in the woods I had quite the encounter with the purple wolf, and from how relaxed it was when it saw me, I concluded that no one else was there." She dragged in a breath, slow and deliberate before she smirked.
"And definitely not one radiating so much energy but seriously, tell me. What's gonna be the reaction of the students or perhaps the principal when they find out that you are the beast that nearly attacked the school just hours ago?" She asked and my eyes involuntarily widened with pure shock.
How did she know about that? That was impossible, no one had ever known about that and I had made sure that no one else would know for as long as I kept it a secret.
I quickly glanced around the hallway, sending my senses out and breathing out a sigh of relief when I found no one in close range to eavesdrop on what she had just said.
"How did you find out about that?" I asked, giving up any pretense. If she could know that I was that damn beast then there was no need to hide it from her anymore or try to do so, it would be completely useless.
"I didn't…. You just clarified a guess," she smirked at me and I spluttered.
"You played me?" I asked, my voice low and dark but she paid me no heed. As if whatever was going on with me has nothing to do with her.
Two sharp inaudible growls ripped through my entire being and my brows furrowed, what was up with my beast and why was it reacting strongly to being humiliated by this woman… this infuriating woman.
"I can't take credit for your foolishness. You don't plan to blackmail me with such lousy skills, now did you?" She asked and I fell short, that had been exactly my whole plan.
"Anyway, come inside Prince Darkwood, or should I call you Cristian?" She lowered her voice with a smile and my eyes shot up on hearing her.
"You know who I am?" I couldn't help but ask, this woman had been playing with me since I arrived at her door. What's to say she wasn't playing me now?.
"If I answer that, I'm afraid you'd be so very embarrassed by your lousy skills. So come inside, let's talk clearly," she said before turning and walking back into her room and leaving me standing there in absolute annoyance at how I had completely made a fool out of myself.
"What do you want now?" I think this was the pouty feeling I had seen on guys, was this sulking? Why was I sulking? And pouting at the same time too!!!! What have I done with myself due to this woman??????!!!!
"This is-"
"Wait a minute." I suddenly realized something, my brows shooting up as I scanned her over and she stared at me with confusion.
"How did you see through my invincibility?" I asked, taking a slow step towards her and it took her but a moment before she responded.
"With such lousy skills, you still have the mind to s-"
"Don't try that with me again, I know what level I am at right now and even my father can't see through my invincibility ability, so how could you?" I asked, shaking my head at her line.
"Even if I tell you how, which I might not. You won't believe me and if you do and say anything about it, either a threat or something bad, I will kill you and if not today then one day." Her eyes flashed red and I stumbled backwards.
How did she do that? I haven't seen anyone's eyes turn red at will, maybe when angry or stuff but at will? Never or did I see wrong?.
This woman was something else.
"Tell me," I finally said and she smiled before waving her arms and suddenly, someone appeared on the large bed in the middle of the room.
"Who's tha- no, tell me" I quickly switched back to my original question seeing as I was almost getting off track.
"It's better if you see it yourself," she said and before my very naked eyes, she transformed into a…. Purple fox!!!!.
