Yuki began getting pissed off at the opposite team, her hatred for not being higher than them melted into the atmosphere.
"Three more points! Let's pull through for the victory."
"Three points? You got it guy!"
Vermelha let off a quick serve towards them. Gharma tried to receive the ball but for some odd reason his timing as completely off, to the point where it would be impossible to miss, yet he did. Vermelha had pulled off the same feat as Gharma, scoring the most points for her team. The score was now 13-9.
"Two points until Yoshiwara is the victor of the first game!" Yoshiwara screamed. Celebrating Vermelha.
"Two hits and we're off with it!"
Yuki yelled out after getting frustrated. "What the hell?! Come on!" Raiden turned to Gharma and asked. "Didn't you just do that too? Did she copy you?"
"Our abilities are seperate. She did something to the ball at the last second..but it wasn't the same as what we did." Gharma thought on. "My ability is the ability to reset a cause and effect, which falls under a set amount of actions before the effect takes place. For example, when they aimed for the ball earlier the ball was reversed back into where it once was in the air, a certain position, that's how we got the point. However, the ball didn't reset or move as I would see it and i'm familiar with my ability. She manipulated the balls speed in some way multiple times and it threw me off completely, I was unable to see what had happened before it happened."
Raiden looked at the girl that had hit the ball and thought about any ways to get around that. "Just watch her movements as soon as she goes for the ball."
Vermelha gave a normal serve to the other side, the ball traveling in the air above Ashina. Cynil did not waste any time. She slammed the ball down, scoring for Ashina almost instantly, the crowd roared and stomped on the bleachers as the score was now 13-10. The ball was thrown back to Cynil, almost violently. The tension grew between the two teams as the end of the game was near.
Matsumi never stopped jumping in place, he had to let loose all his energy again. Waiting for the perfect moment, his eyes following the ball.
Cynil served from the back, the ball floating obese Yoshiwara. Shizu received the ball and passed it to Matsumi. A perfect pass to the middle like normal. She ran the same play, she knew she could rely on him. He didn't exert any Tokubetsu or large reservoir of mana, but he was reliable on hits due to his physical power, and his ability to precisely hit the ball, even if it wasn't perfect. The ball started to slow down as Vermelha's eyes glowed. The two worked flawlessly together despite not ever having met each other until a bit before this game. The ball was now at the perfect angle and perfect speed for Matsumi, a far more dangerous pass than any singular one he had yet received this game.
Matsumi had already started running to build up momentum before he even saw Shizu pass him the ball. When he suddenly looked beside him slightly to see the ball coming. "It actually came! Ha!" He kept track of how everyone else played, especialy their hands. They weren't punching like he was, it was more like a slap. Kokkaku came up to the net and tried to jump up and block the shot, but as soon as he did, he saw that he wasn't as high up as Matsumi was. How was he jumping that damn high?! Like a whip, Matsumi focused on the very edge of Kokkaku's fingers and slapped the ball, dead center. It shot directly to Kokkaku's hands but as it only hit his pinky, Kokkaku wasn't able to stop it. It bounced off and crashed to the ground, the quickest he had done it before. Matsumi landed on his feet as Kokkaku landed on his behind. "YEAHH!" He bent his back as he screamed upwards. 14-10.
"Alright Matsumi. It's your serve. You score this and we'll win the game!" The ball was thrown back to her as she tossed it to Matsumi. "Just hit it in a way where we'll score okay?" She smiled, waiting for the final serve of the game seemingly.
"Roger!" He bounced it on the floor a few times to prepare himself. Throwing it up in the air before jumping right after it, hitting it just like he had seen them do it before. The trajectory of it was guided by his own eye, aiming it at the area of the weakest link he had used before, Kokkaku. The ball swerved and was going to hit the very line, but Kokkaku tapped it by diving down. However, the ball still bounced away from their box. If no one stopped it, it'd be game over. Gharma stopped it and hit the ball over back toward Yoshiwara.
Tengoku bumped the ball up before Vermelha jumped.
Vermelha slammed on the ball and scored. The final score: 15-10. Yoshiwara won the game as they celebrated, the current runner for the MVP award was none other than Vermelha. The team picked her up as she was startled but happy that she could contribute and win them the volleyball game. With no worry of personal space, Matsumi gathered around Vermelha. Jumping to her and pressing his cheek against hers, definately overwhelming. "How many awesome points was that?!"
Kokkaku sat down on the ground, rather annoyed at what just happened. "Damn.."
"A lot..A lot…" She laughed as the crew cleared the volleyball net and the ball from the court. The team put her down as her face was shown on the big screen with highlights from the match going through.
"It's alright. We still have two games remaining and we got the gist of their abilities at least..Happened vice versa but you can't do anything else." Gharma sighed and waved his hands, not caring anymore that they lost rather seemingly.
"I'll think about it later and let you know!" He turned over to walk closer to the net, waving at the other team. "Hey! Thanks for the game! I had a really good time! You should show me more of your magic!"
Raiden clicked his tongue and swung his fist in the air, ignoring Matsumi's stupidity. "It's alright… maybe our abilities could be better used in the next matches."
Yuki fell to her knees in an over exaggerated defeat, she sighed and looked down almost as if she was gonna cry.
Kasaru got down on the floor, sitting as he softly rubbed his arm, he panted deeply as he caught his breath, still recovering from protecting Raiden.
"Well, thats the first part over with, at least."
"If I ever used my ability, I would've popped the ball every time.." Kokkaku looked on at Yoshiwara, still seething in annoyance.
"Well allow a 5 minute break..and then it's on to capture the flag!" The crowd cheered once again, more excited for capture the flag than Volleyball.
Joseph was already out by the bleachers, sitting against the backing as he napped back what energy he could, since CTF was supposed to be next, he had his own plan already in mind.
Raiden had moved to the sidelines, he stretched and sighed. Not daring to look up at mambas direction, he watched the opposite team thinking about how his abilities could help with the Capture the Flag game. "Let's just focus on taking this one home...If we do then we have a chance in the last game...Sound good?"
Raiden nodded to Gharma as the two sat next to each other recovering from the first game. "As long as we're able to pull through we can catch this and the next win."
