Chapter 5 - the meeting

Still stationed at the reception desk, I turned around to see the face of the person who dared call me poor.

"Wh-… Huh…!!!?"

You'll never guess who I saw standing right in front of me—

the boy with pink hair, or more precisely, my older brother's lover.

Just by looking at his face, I felt disgusted. I couldn't hide my expression, which clearly irritated my brother's lover, who snapped back:

"Huh…?"

With his face all tensed and cold, he walked toward me, and when he reached me—

SLAP!!!

He slapped me. I was so shocked I lost my words.

I stayed frozen, my hand on my cheek, wondering what I had done to deserve that.

The crowd around us started getting excited by the scene.

"How can a poor boy like you dare look at me that way? You're no better than a stray dog in the street," he said while glaring straight into my eyes.

But I'm not the type to let myself be pushed around. I wasn't hurt by the slap he gave me—

actually, I was glad he threw the first hit.

Now it was my turn to show him what I could do.

Angi: "Hum… disgusting!!! Boys like you disgust me. All you know how to do is spend the money your parents worked hard for. And let me tell you something—if I'm a dog, then you are the tail!"

That's what I told him while staring straight into his eyes.

But seriously, who did he think he was?

And then, with a sharp movement—

SMAAACK!!!

I slapped him back.

"How dare you—" he started, "Do you know who I am—"

"Bla-bla, bla-bla, who are you? The queen of sluts!? Hahaha!! You're hilarious. No matter who you are, that doesn't give you the right to lay a hand on anyone."

He stared at me with shame and panic, but I didn't care.

I finally had the opportunity to let out all the anger inside me because of what happened with Soren.

And it wasn't over.

Angi: "Hey! Pink hair!"

"What do you want, you poor—"

And then—fwip!!! SLAP!! POW POW!!

I pounced on him and started beating him up.

He didn't even know how to fight, he only knew how to scream for help.

I bit him on the cheek, on his legs, on his hands—

he screamed so loudly, and I loved it.

It made me want to hit him even more.

So I started pulling his hair and punching him nonstop.

Even though the employees tried to separate us, I didn't let go.

Tonight, I was going to teach him a good lesson.

By the time they finally managed to pull me off him, I was completely out of breath But I didn't want to let it go, so I started insulting him.

Angi: "You big wide-eyed man-eater!!!" I screamed as loud as I could so everyone would hear I wanted everyone to know he was gay.

Angi: "You're gay! You like men!"

And suddenly the whole room went silent.

No one dared speak.

Why?

Even the employees let go of me.

I turned my head to look around, still not understanding what was happening.

And then suddenly—

"Sniff… sniff… Waaaa! You're so mean! How can you say something like that to me!?"

I froze.

I didn't understand his reaction—or anyone else's.

Angi: "What…!? What are you talking about? Don't try to act innocent."

I was starting to panic, but I didn't show it.

"I'm not pretending to be innocent… sniff sniff…"

Angi: "Yeah, right! I saw you in front of the bar kissing another boy like yourself!"

I could only pretend not to know Soren.

But even after dropping that bomb, the crowd remained silent, all of them staring at me, whispering.

Strangers:

"Oh my god…"

"It's over for him…"

"How dare he go against the Kataras…"

"Everyone knows the Kataras are the richest family in the city, and their heir is cruel and violent…"

"Poor boy, he looks so young…"

That's what they whispered—as if I couldn't hear them The Katara family? I've never heard of them, even in the past Furthermore, their have a cruel heirs with no pity!!?

I think I got myself into serious trouble.

Not knowing what else to do, I grabbed the pink-haired Katara by his T-shirt.

He stared at me in shock—

And BAM!!!

I slammed him with a wrestling move.

He lay on the ground unconscious but still alive At that moment I was still thinking about Soren; would things have been different if I had made more effort?

For a moment everything froze—

and then I ran.

The crowd grew louder and started rushing toward the pink-haired boy.

I sprinted into the dark night.

It was exactly midnight, the hour of ghosts, and I was still outside.

I started crying as I ran under the beautiful stars.

After running for a while, I reached a bus stop.

Luckily, the city stays lively at night, so people were still around.

I wasn't too worried.

I sat down, exhausted—but at least, I was far from my enemy.

…Or so I hoped.

And Actually, I never introduced the place where I live.

I should've done it from the start, but I'll do it now.

I live in Aosaka, a large Japanese city, modern and bright at night,

located somewhere between Tokyo's energy and Osaka's warmth—

a big, lively city from every corner.

It's divided into several important districts:

Ao-District, the busy center filled with neon signs, bars, cafés and arcades, where Soren loves to hang out.

Kuroshima, a quiet residential district where Soren and I live, with small houses, a park, and calm streets.

Hikarimori, a forest area on the city's edge, perfect for reflection and… secret scenes. Hehe.

Minato Bay, Aosaka's port, with ocean views and night markets.

The city has modern subways, night buses, and small local train stations.

And that's the overview.

I love my city. I wouldn't leave it for anything in the world.
