CHAPTER-
"Everyone! Today is practical!" Hoa announced.
"Finally, I'm tired of this writing and learning, what are we learning?" A student groaned.
"I'm glad you're happy, I want you all to go in pairs, you'll use your magic to get to know each-other, make sure your pairs are someone you don't really know, it's important to work together"
"Seriously?" the class sighed
Footsteps eroded into different seats, people joining new students, friendly faces and more.
"Hey," Hinata smiled. "You helped Thalia from that magic, you're so cool you know"
"It's nothing really, she's my friend, I just like helping people." I replied.
"That's wholesome, you really care about people, we should be a pair" She sat next to him.
"Thanks, what type of magic do you have?"
"I can move rocks, or different kinds of rocks…" I think Hinata looked down.
"That's a cool type of magic! I think yours and mine can work together, I have plant magic!"
"Really? You really think so? My mom said my magic was too weak" she frowned.
"I don't think so, you could achieve a lot with it, if you train hard, you might even be able to move boulders, hills, houses and lots of things."
A pink hue plastered on her cheeks. "Wow, you're right, I'll work hard to do one of them!" she smiled. "You said you had plant magic? Originally I thought you didn't have magic and only relied on your potions for magic"
"Yeah, not the first time I've heard that." he chuckled nervously. "I study potions to one day help people, or search for things, my mom said, if you aim high, there's nothing you can't reach
"That's inspiring. It's good to have a goal you're aiming towards, that's cute, your mom sounds supportive."
"Mhm"
"Right! Everyone's in their group, amazing!" Hoa cheered. "Now, with your group I want you all to practise your synchronisations with each-other! Remember, closeness is key, class dismissed.
"We should find somewhere which has many plants and rocks." Rav hummed.
"Perhaps we could look together?" Hinata stood up
"Yeah, we could actually"

"This is hard, it seems like everyone took all the best spots," Hinata said.
"I guess so to, don't worry, we can work our way around it, if we start our synchronisation here, I'm sure rocks will like come out"
"Really?" she said
"Maybe." sits on the grass. "Hoa said, closeness is key, so we'll need to know each other, weaknesses and strengths and all of that."
"Ah, okay. Should we focus on the offense or defence?"
"Well, we can't really do multiple synchronisations spells or we'll run out of magic, we should do offense, I feel like we can pull that off better"
"How? Our magic types are very, very different."
"It could still work, plant magic may not have rocks, but we can improvise, for example, I bring out cactus, and you can control the spikes" he took a stick "cactus have a natural paralysing in their spikes, cactus can be used as a great offense, because it can last in any condition, except cold, and with the spikes, the paralysation can immobilize the enemy, even for a while" he drew in the floor
"Oh right, but I've never controlled anything that isn't a rock"
"I think you can do it, you'll need to change the way you view different rocks, you might have to pretend the spikes are… hm.. Oh yeah toothpicks!"
"Oh right!" she said
"Yes! You'll have to imagine they're toothpicks"
"tooth picks?" she laughed "I have a question, do you have every type of plant in your disposal, or is there a limit?"
"Oh yeah! I do, I don't have every plant, my limitation is if I don't know a plant I can't cast it, if I want to bring a plan out, I'll need to touch that plant in person, before i can use it"
"Ah, I see, so if you touch a sunflower, you'll be able to bring more sunflowers… that sounds really cool actually"
"Thanks! Okay, we should start" holds her hands softly.
"Alright"
They both held each other's hands as they slowly released their magic, carefully but slowly.
"Okay" he said
"Earth magic- plant and rock magic synchronisation!" They both chanted.
Slowly but surely, the spell came together, they performed the spell filled with many cacti, their spikes pointed outward defensively.
They both panted heavily.
"Did it work?" Hinata fell on Ravi's shoulders.
"Yeah, are you okay?"
"Mhm, that just took everything from me."
"I can show you?"
"Yeah, alright"
He gently moved his free arm. He gently placed it on the floor, after a few seconds a gigantic sunflower bloomed, sending them upwards.
"Woah, it actually worked!" Hinata cheered quietly. "I can't believe it"
"Yeah, it looks better than I would've hoped for"
"Should we test it?"
"Sure, I can make stick figures…"
"That'd be amazing.
Ravi gently made a stick figure with his vines, he dropped it outside the barrier, while increasing its height and width, to mimic a living being.
As soon as it hit the ground, the stick figure was immediately attacked by many spikes.
"Damn" his eyes widened.
"Ouch, that must've hurt." she looked away. "Will it do the same with us?"
"No, not really, Hoa said, the spell never attacks its casters and anyone we find as safe."
"Oh yeah, well, we should get down then" she blushed.
"Okay!"

"Everyone! We will explore each one of your synchronisation techniques, at your level, you should have pairs" Nami explained.
"What!? But miss, that's hard!!" Kyomi whined.
"I know, however, you all aren't at that level, please find your pairs.
"Imagine stressing about pairs!" Ha-Joon laughed.
"Shut it Joon" Kyomi glared.
"At least I have my pair" he shot back
"Whatever!!"
"I can pair up with Nerina" Kieran moved forward.
"Who are you?" Kyomi jumped.
"Don't be rude, he's Kieran" Kento hissed.
"Uh, sure" Nerina smiled
He smiled warmly.
"Aw, okay… I'll be with Kento!" Kyomi jumped.
"In that case, you may all leave, you may use the dummies placed around this area only" Nami warned. "Class dismissed"

"Kento!" Kyomi moved around happily "let's start!"
"I think this side is good, before we start, we kinda have to see how both of our magic can be used" Kento touched the dummies.
"I know! We can send a message to Nerina!"
"How the hell are we supposed to do that?" Kento fiddled with his headphones.
"Basically, you track Nerina first, then we write something, then we do the magic, then my ice will send it to Nerina!"
"That, actually, doesn't seem that difficult." Kento hummed.
"Of course!"
"We better start then, since I already know that type of magic you have, and we are friends, this is already easy"
"Yep! Let's start! I'm so excited!"
"Okay, I'll write my part, then you will, then we'll start" Kento took a paper from his pocket.
"Let me see" he scribbled something on the paper before handing it to Kyomi.
"Hoorayy! I know what to write!" she scribbled with a huge smile on her face. "Donee!!" she cheered
"Great! Now let's sit down and start"
" Ready when you are!"
They both held hands as the magic started, Kyomi created icicles that took the paper from the floor, Kento then targeted it towards Nerina's direction.
"Hey I think it worked, the paper's gone" she clapped
"Uh yeah, hooray to us, we'll ask her if she got it later"
"Amazing job you two!" Sabina smiled proudly. "That's an amazing spell"
"Thank you!" Kyomi replied.
"Thanks. It actually wasn't as draining as I thought" Kento stood up.
"That's because your mana control is actually good, people only get tired is their mana control is lower than average"
"Oh right" he dusted himself.

"This is a bit awkward, i can't seem to read him" Nerina thought.
"My magic is poison magic, with water I can shoot poison to people" he started.
"Mine is… um, blood magic"
"I know."
"oh right... Okay… so we should perhaps stay here?" Nerina suggested.
"Yeah sure, whatever makes you happy." he stopped.
"Okay, according to Nami, we'll have to share our weaknesses and work together," Nerina explained.
He hummed. "My weakness is I need to taste a poison in order to use it, I've tasted many poisons, so I can use many poisons. The positive is, if someone uses the same poison from my collection I'm immune."
"Oh, that sounds hard"
"Not really, I got used to it after a while." He looked at me with a blank expression. "What's yours?"
"Well, I, my weakness is it takes lots of mana to use my magic, because of that I can control one person in five minute"
"Oh really? I think to overcome that, you have to look deep in your mind." He continued.
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is, when you use your magic, you overthink that you're using less mana, then you end up using all of it by the end"
"I guess so....I didn't realise"
"Yes, if you clear the positive and negative, you'll be able to control more people."
"But… I don't want to control people's bodies.." she looked down.
"It's your magic, this might be harsh, but you can't escape it, you'll only add more weakness, you won't be able to protect people this way"
She bit her lip. "need to look deep in myself?"
"Ready now?" he tilts his head.
"Ready." she held his hand.
His hands are so cold.
He glanced at her one more time before starting
"Water magic- poison and blood magic- synchronise!"
They both chanted as Nerina opened the mouth of the dummy slowly, she tried desperately to use Kieran's advice. After several minutes, Nerina succussed, the mouth was opened, Kieran quickly followed on by dropping droplets in the dummy's mouth.
Nerina collapsed on the floor. "That was so draining."
"Really? I think it was just fine," he said.
"Maybe for you."
"You did well, you listened to what I said, you'll improve drastically in no time.
