Chapter 10 - The Sister Takes Action

At the Long Island estate villa…

Ororo and Zhou Yi were just about to move past simple hand-holding when a sudden, urgent ringtone cut through the moment.

Zhou Yi cursed in frustration and was about to continue, but Ororo jolted as if shocked. She pushed him away, scrambled through the clothes scattered across the floor, and found her phone.

She glanced at the caller ID and said to Zhou Yi,"Something's happened at the school. It's Jean. This is the emergency line!"

Even though Zhou Yi was burning with desire, he forced himself to calm down. He understood the place Xavier's School held in Ororo's heart—like a second home. It wasn't worth ruining her impression of him over impulse.

Breathing heavily, Ororo answered the call.

"Jean, what's wrong? What happened?"

"Ororo, is that you? Your voice sounds… strange." Jean hesitated before replying.

"Ahem—nothing, just a little… tired. What's going on at the school?" Ororo tried to steady her breathing and shifted the topic.

"It's Sharice—"

Before Jean could finish, Zhou Yi grabbed the phone."Tell me, Jean—what happened to Sharice?"

There was a moment of silence. Only when Zhou Yi called her name again did Jean Grey respond.

"Yi? Why are you there?"

"That doesn't matter! Tell me, Jean. What happened to Sharice?"

Jean paused, then answered.

"Sharice and two students have disappeared from the school. I tried tracking them, but nothing solid turned up. Zhou Yi, you and Ororo need to move immediately—if anything's happened to them, it will be too late!"

Hearing that, Zhou Yi didn't rush out immediately. Instead, he said firmly into the phone:

"Jean, stay at the school and stand by. I'll handle this. Believe me—I'll bring them back safely."

He hung up, turned to Ororo, and said,"Darling, stay here, all right? Just like you promised—let me take care of this."

Seeing Ororo nod, Zhou Yi dressed quickly, walked onto the balcony, crouched, and launched himself into the night. With a thunderous roar, he pierced through the darkness and vanished into the sky.

Back at Xavier's School, Jean Grey slowly lowered the phone. She knew who Ororo had gone out with, and had already prepared herself mentally. But hearing Zhou Yi's voice—and Ororo's breathless state—still sent her mind wandering.Tonight, sleep would not come easily.

And she wasn't the only one unable to rest.

High above, at thirty thousand feet, a night-shift team was also wide awake.

A cold, striking woman in a tight suit strode into a huge monitoring room, flanked by armed soldiers. She barked at the staff:

"Who can tell me why the alarm was triggered?"

"Reporting, ma'am! We detected an unidentified flying object—extremely fast. Around Mach 20, and still accelerating."

"What is it?"The woman shoved past a soldier and stepped before a massive holographic display. The screen showed nothing but torn cloud layers in the night sky.

"Sorry, ma'am! It's too fast—we've lost it!" the operator reported anxiously.

"Keep searching. I want full details. And question every possible source—military, NASA, defense contractors. Everyone. Immediately. Move!"

"Yes, ma'am!"Her subordinates replied in unison as the equipment hummed into overdrive.

The cold-faced commander stood silently. She had no doubt that whatever had passed by wouldn't be a one-time occurrence. It would appear again.

Meanwhile, in a hidden underground bar in Brooklyn…

Sharice and two of her girlfriends had begun their little adventure.

To Sharice, this place felt strange. Terribly hidden. If they hadn't followed a punk couple here, she would never have found it.

Who would expect a bar under an abandoned factory? And who would put a dozen security guards at the entrance?

"Good thing we're mutants!" Sharice grinned smugly.

At her signal, Kitty grabbed her hand—and the third girl's. The three phased like smoke straight through the layers of security. When they came to their senses again, they were inside the bar's restroom.

No sooner had they landed than shrill female gasps and low male groans came from a nearby stall. Sharice winced awkwardly and whispered:

"Uh… wow. That's… intense."

The other two girls flushed red. They grabbed Sharice and hurried her out as the "battle" behind them continued.

Out in the main bar area, just as they imagined—blasting metal music, chaotic lights, and crowds of half-dressed men and women dancing wildly.

The intoxicating chaos made the three underage girls both nervous and fascinated. Sharice—ever the rebellious one—couldn't help blurting out:

"Cool!"

Yes.This was far cooler than their day-to-day routine at the institute—books, classes, a strict schedule. This… this was freedom.

No rules.No restraint.Just letting go.

They tried mimicking the dancing around them, swaying clumsily to blend in. Meanwhile, some of the nearby adults began eyeing the three fresh-faced girls with unsettling smiles.

Slowly—deliberately—the crowd pushed them toward the back of the room. Fewer people here… but the ones who remained were far more attractive. Men with sculpted features, women with seductive curves. Many were wrapped around each other, bodies pressed close, sharing kisses and more.

Even the air smelled like hormones.

The three girls exchanged uneasy glances. For them, this was far beyond their experience. At sixteen, most American teens would have at least some exposure to such scenes.

But not them. They were mutants—students sheltered by Professor Xavier. He protected them so well that they rarely confronted anything like this.

Then Kitty spotted the bar counter nearby and tugged Sharice's sleeve.

Sharice understood immediately. Putting on her best "big-sister boss" face, she declared:

"Come on, girls! Drinks are on me tonight! Let's go wild!"

Normally, this rich-girl attitude would annoy people—but for her friends, it was simply familiar. After all, Sharice had a handsome, wealthy older brother.

And unlike her, the other two had no pocket money for a place like this. Many mutants came from troubled homes. Sharice was the exception.

Laughing, the girls reached the bar. Sharice shouted:

"Hey! Bartender! Three of your strongest drinks!"

The bartender—a bald, middle-aged man—gave them a strange look while polishing a glass. Then he flashed an unpleasant smile.

"Little ladies, I don't serve milk here."

"Hey! We have money!"Sharice waved a wad of Franklins under his nose. But the bartender didn't move. His smile only grew stranger.

Then—

"Enough, Joe. Give these young ladies cocktails. Put it on my tab."

A cold, seductive voice sounded behind them.

The bartender immediately straightened up respectfully."Yes, Miss Nisha!"

Sharice turned—and finally saw the woman.

A strange, striking figure.

Her skin was pale—almost too pale, without the slightest trace of warmth. She was stunningly beautiful: long black hair coiled behind her head, dark eyes, and crimson lips that contrasted sharply with her white skin. Black, red, and white intertwined in a hypnotic way.

Even as a girl, Sharice felt a strange fascination.

But what struck her most was the woman's aura—mysterious, alluring, ancient. A feeling Sharice couldn't describe.(If Zhou Yi or Tony were here, they'd recognize it instantly: the elegance of age—a vintage wine perfected by time.)

Of course, Sharice refused to admit the woman was beautiful. Her fashion sense, however…

Those ornate gold necklaces and that golden headpiece? So old-fashioned!

Yet somehow, the woman wore them perfectly—though Sharice would never say that aloud.

Wearing a black leather outfit that accentuated her voluptuous figure, the woman sat beside Sharice gracefully.

"Lovely girls… You shouldn't be here," she said softly.

The bartender placed her a glass of bright red liquid—and set cocktails before the three girls.

"We're… with people we know. First time here," Sharice said quickly, tugging discreetly at her friends' sleeves.

"Yes—right!" Kitty and the other girl echoed, flustered.

The woman smiled faintly. She raised her glass.

"No one here cares how you got in. Because in this place… no one leaves."

Sharice stiffened."What do you mean?"

Something was wrong.Very wrong.

The woman had no normal breathing. And the people nearby… their eyes were unsettlingly strange.

"Stay close," the woman whispered. "Don't move. This is a feast—and I can't guarantee these wild beasts will control themselves."

Cold dread crawled up Sharice's spine.

Feast.Beasts.

The words alone were terrifying.

She looked at her two friends—the same fear reflected in their eyes.

Sharice instinctively wanted to open a crystal portal to escape—but with her friends behind her, she didn't dare risk it. Her control wasn't perfect. A panicked long-distance teleport could be disastrous.

Under the strain, the three girls clutched each other's hands tightly, palms growing cold with sweat.
