'Did I hear that right? I unlocked the other system, wow' Leo thought.
"Victor are you okay?" Leo said while rushing over to Victor.
"Yes I'm okay, we should hurry up though, the sound of fighting might attract other beasts." Victor replied.
Victor and Leo ran south as fast as they could, Victor used his scouting skill while running so they could avoid any dormant demonic beasts. They were in no condition to fight again, they barely survived the first time.
A cold breeze of air swept through this part of the jungle, a clear sign that they were getting close to the shore. Each step felt like heavier than the last, they wanted to stop, but the feeling of being close gave them the willpower required to keep going.
Infront of them, a bright light was shining behind the trees. That was the edge of the jungle, they were finally getting out of this place.
With a final triumphant dash they jumped out of the jungle and fell onto the sand and started resting there. The sand's hot surface contrasted against the constant flow of cold air, their combination bringing a relax feeling to their bodies.
Leo pulled out two steaks from his inventory and gave one to Victor so they would share.
"Thank you" Victor thanked Leo.
After staring at the azure sky for a while, they decided to examine their surroundings before continuing their journey.
Behind them was the jungle they just escaped, both of them didn't look that way hoping they would forget the events they had witnessed. To their sides the sand stretched out for a vast distance before disappearing beneath the horizon.
Infront of them was the southern store's city. Leo had expected it to be like the other pride, full of makeshift dens. However what he saw was completely different, there were houses, actual houses. Humans roamed the streets covered in lavish clothes, which meant this city had a large number of high ranking lions, the towering city hall stood in the middle of the city, it's dome was made of glass allowing the sun to illuminate its interior.
The city was surrounded by walls that were 2 meters high but they were still able to see what was inside, because the buildings were tall.
This looked like a city from medieval times with the city hall being it's central castle. 'Wow, I did not expect to see something like this in this world' Leo thought.
"Victor we finally made it" Leo exclaimed while a large smile appeared on his face.
"Yes..Yes we did" Victor said.
Leo and Victor walked towards the city's entrance, then a guard stopped them.
The guard, was in his human form, he had a silver spear in his hand, he extended it and blocked their path. "You must pay a 10 coin entrance fee to enter the Southern city." The guard said.
'Wow even the guards have human forms, this city must be full of strong lions' Leo thought.
Victor and Leo paid the fee without any complaints and entered the city. Their current priority was to find an inn, thankfully a large one was right infront of them.
They approached it slowly, unable to walk at a normal pace due to exhaustion, then they pushed open the door of the immediate and went to the receptionist
"Two rooms please" Leo said.
"Each room is 1 coin per night, you must pay in advance" She said.
Leo paid for 30 days for his room and Victor did the same, she handed them their key, they went up the stairs and entered their new rooms. "See you tommorow, I'm gonna rest" Leo said.
Leo leaped onto the bed. 'I should check my levels and put skill points into my stats then check the new system' Leo thought.

Leo decided to put 5 skill points into attack, 5 into defense, 4 into Agility , 4 into stamina, 2 into intelligence and 2 into mana strength. He decided to not use that many skill points on mana related skills since he only had one skill.
As soon as Leo increased he felt different, he felt stronger, stronger than he ever was. This strength will help him alot.
'I'm going to avenge those lions, and I'm going to teach those demonic beasts to not mess with me ever again' He promised himself.
'Now let's check this new system' Leo thought.
He rubbed his hands in anticipation then thought of opening the new system.
"Opening Reincarnation System.....
Reincarnation System will merge with Leveling System.....
Process 50% complete...
Systems have successfully merged to create Ultimate System." The Ultimate System spoke, it's voice was similar to both the other systems as I'd it took some characteristics from both.
Leo opened the new stats page.

"New system offers shop that offers upgrades to increase speed of leveling up, it will also offer more rewards for quests aswell as more benefits you can unlock later on" The Ultimate System spoke again.
'I don't have enough coins to buy that upgrade, whatever I'll save up later I'm tired' Leo thought.
Leo leaned against his pillow and closed his eyes, he drifted off to sleep.[1]
In his dream, he saw the scene from yesterday again, fire engulfed the pride in the jungle. Many of the lions were trying to extinguish the fire that burnt their skin, they rolled on the ground but it was of no use, the fire kept getting larger instead.
Lion after lion, all the lions dropped onto the ground either covered in blood or burnt. The red from blood and the charcoal black from the burnt lions mixed and made a very dark red trail that crept closer to the lake.
The blood and ash dripped into the lake tainting it's water.
Leo jumped out of bed covered in sweat, his eyes darting to different directions examining his surroundings before he started calming down.
'This was my first time having a nightmare since coming to this world' Leo thought while wipping the sweat off his face.
Leo noticed it was morning so he decided to go outside his room to find Victor.
[1] He leaned against the pillows with the side of his head not in the position humans sleeep in since he is a lion.
