Leo and Victor had decided to ho check out the city, both of then told the receptionist they were going to go out and went out.
The first thing they saw was a a large medieval tavern/Cafe, Leo couldn't believe those existed in this world. When he was in the jungle he thought this world was primitive and wouldn't have anything for entertainment, but it seems he was wrong.
The next thing they saw was a bakery, it sold some bread loafs and they also had some desserts for display. The desserts were pies and tarts mostly covered in honey and fruit but they looked appetizing.
"Victor, come let's eat some dessert, the tab is on me" Leo said while gesturing towards the bakery.
They walked into the bakery."Hey, how much does the apple pie cost?" Leo asked the man selling the baked goods.
"2 coins for the pie" The man responded.
Leo paid for the pie and shared it with Victor. It was truly scrumptious, the honey acted as a nice natural sweetener that matched well with the flavor of the apple, a hint of cinnamon added the final touch to make it a masterpiece.
They started eating it and Leo even ordered 4 more and placed them in his inventory so he could eat them at any time he wanted. This bakery reminded him of the bakeries from his other life so he liked it even more.
Leo and Victor were full, they could barely breath so they decided to lean on the bench while walking in the park. They started admiring the park's beauty, birds flew and nested on the trees. Leaves fell and started covering the ground yellow and green.
Then a lion passed by and used a weird skill to blow the leaves away from the paths so people wouldn't get cost, this city truly was civilized.
After a while, they felt like they had digested some of the food so they didn't need to stay in the park. They started walking then saw a large building.
'Hunter's Guild' was written in bold on the front of the building. "Hey Victor do you know what that is?" Leo asked.
"No, let's go check it out" Victor replied.
Then they started walking towards the towering building, it cast a large shadow which covered them from the bright sun.
They pushed open the doors and saw it was quite busy, before doing anything they needed to learn about the Hunter's guild. Leo approached the Lady sitting at one of the front desks.
"Hello, we are visitors, this is out first time in southern city, what is the hunters guild" Leo asked.
"I'll explain it for you, the name is self explanatory, the Hunter's guild is a guild for Hunter's, here is where Hunters gather to find tasks that the guild offers in exchange of coins, anyone can sign up but they have to do a quick examination to check how strong they are to determine the rank of tasks you can accept. The ranks are S, A , B , C ,D and E" She said and showed the application form and asked them if they wanted to do the examination.
Leo and Victor took the examination, Victor had managed to get a B which is above average while Leo got a C which is average, meaning if they were together they would be able to take B ranked tasks.
They filled the application form, got their ID cards which were a way to identify themselves as Guild members, using the ID tey could also use, it to enter the city without paying entry fees.
They looked at the notice board for task, the only one they liked was a task asking someone to protect them while they delivered goods to another city.
the task's information mentioned that the person they were gonna escort was a wealthy trader named charles ,so they had to be escorted safely, it also mentioned that there was a hefty sum for the person taking on this task. The rank of the task was C rank so it shouldn't be that hard.
For some reason, no one decided to take this task, it seemed as if everyone didn't like this trader but the didn't know him so they accepted it and went to the location written on the task.
When they arrived they were greeted by an arrogant tour, "you are my guards? You seen weak, whatever just help me lift up these boxes into my carriage" Charles said with a hint of disdain in his tone.
Leo and Victor could already tell why people hated this man, it was his arrogant behavior. Leo and Victor helped him with boxes because they had already accepted the task and couldn't go back and reject it, so they had to endure this until the end of the task.
"Guards, carry me onto my carriage " The man commanded with a disgusted look in his eyes.
Leo and Victor complied and carried the man. When they started moving with the carriage inside the city they saw the people of the city looking down on Charles. In their eyes, Charles was an arrogant man with no real empathy towards other people or emotions. And they were right, this man was devoid of all emotions, all he cared about was money, and that's why everyone disdained him.
As they went outside the huge walls of the souther city the breeze from the sea started hitting them again. Inside the city like, the walls blocked the breeze so it wasn't as cool as outside.
On the way to the other city they passed many picturesque views, they watched with amazed eyes as they-
Screech
The carriage suddenly stopped.
Infront of them was a group of low ranked bandits blocking their path, they wanted to take charles with them, ofcourse for the sake of the task they couldn't do that so instead they went into battle ready stances ready to pounce.
"New quest from Ultimate System, Eliminate the bandits, Reward: extra point in every stat, 300 XP and 100 coins" The Ultimate System said in his mind.
Leo charged at the bandits with Victor covering his back, they started taking down each bandit , when Leo used Hunter's Presence most of the bandits became much slower so they were even easier to take care of.
By the end of the fight Leo had managed to gain 510 XP and 200 coins from killing the lion bandits and 300 XP from the quest making him level up 5 times.
The next thing he was going to do was checking his Stats page to see what to add points in.
