On the other side, Zeir's red eyes gleamed slightly as he said, "For someone from the Sky Tribe to try harming the leader of the Vixeria Tribe… you are openly declaring war on us."
Carla burst into laughter the moment she heard that. She placed her hands on her hips and scoffed loudly.
"War? If our tribes really fought, what could you possibly do?" She mocked them. "Ever since your Loba died three months ago, your entire tribe has been a joke!"
"The only way your tribe could ever win is if your leader spread her legs for every beast tribe leader on this land!"
From the evil Roxanna's memories, her father, Loba, died after he and his wife were eaten by a horde of tiger demon beasts while hunting in the forest.
Hunting demon beasts wasn't strange for beastmen, but it was always dangerous, even if it felt thrilling.
Sometimes, hunters accidentally got too close to a demon beast nest, and fighting more than thirty of them with only two people was simply impossible, especially when Loba's beast core wasn't that strong.
Loba's death brought a huge disaster to the Vixeria Tribe because their leadership was passed down through bloodline. When the leader died, their descendants would inherit the position, and it happened to be Roxanna, the most lazy and evil woman in their tribe.
Sure, the tribe members could rebel, but they had sworn loyalty to Loba and his bloodline the day they joined. Because of that oath, their bodies would literally explode if they ever tried to harm Roxanna.
But how could their tribe survive when their leader spent all her time seducing men instead of protecting her people?!
Roxanna honestly couldn't understand why that evil version of her loved bullying her husbands and stealing other women's men.
Did she seriously have a homewrecker kink or something?
Roxanna gritted her teeth. Even just remembering the evil Roxanna's behavior was enough to make her want to slap herself.
Carla stepped forward slowly, her sharp eyes narrowing as she noticed something different. "You suddenly shut up now? You used to spit poison every time you opened your mouth! And you never stopped talking!"
[No… I can't let things stay like this.] Roxanna thought, her heart racing. [If I'm really going to die tomorrow, I can't leave this tribe with such a horrible memory of me.]
Right now, every single beast in the Vixeria Tribe hated her to the core. If she died tomorrow, they would probably spit on her grave, and maybe even dance on it.
She only borrowed this body for three days… but since she would be the final soul living in it, any humiliation they threw on Roxanna's grave would feel like it was aimed at her, not the original evil Roxanna.
[I have to make sure they don't hate me too much before I die tomorrow.]
She knew she couldn't erase all their hatred just like that, but at least she wanted to stop them from peeing on her grave.
"I'm sorry, Carla!"
The entire chaos around them instantly fell silent the moment those words slipped out of Roxanna's mouth.
She bent down into a deep ninety-degree bow, her long hair falling forward like a curtain. "I'm truly sorry for trying to seduce your husband. That was a terrible and shameful thing to do, and I swear I won't ever do something like that again."
She hesitated for a moment before adding, "And don't worry! Harlan is such a sweet man! When I tried to flirt with him, he threw a fish at my face and told me to leave!"
Everything went silent again, even the mouse beastman watching from afar stopped breathing for a second.
Carla and the other ox beastwomen exchanged looks. Their hands, which had been twitching while gripping their axes, suddenly froze.
They had marched here burning with rage, fully prepared to spill blood if that filthy fox even smirked at them the wrong way.
But now? Their enemy was apologizing sincerely? And even complimenting the husband she tried to steal? What were they supposed to do with all this anger they brought?
It felt like someone dumped a bucket of freezing water on the fire in their hearts. Besides that, why did this fox suddenly sound so sincere and gentle?!
"H-How could I forgive you that easily?!" Carla shouted again, trying to bring back her anger. "Trying to seduce a married man is disgusting! It's like you threw dirt right at my face!"
Roxanna slowly lifted her head, giving a small, soft smile. "Then… you can throw dirt at my face too. Would that make us even?"
[Honestly, the fairest way would be letting her flirt with one of my husbands too, but that's definitely too unethical.] Roxanna thought to herself.
[Besides, it's just dirt. I can wash it off in the river anyway.]
Back in the apocalypse, Roxanna struggled to even find clean water to wipe her face. Therefore, dirt was nothing to her.
However, her beast husbands and every beast nearby turned to stare at her as if she'd suddenly grown a second head.
There was no way a beast would willingly offer themselves to be humiliated in public, especially not a tribe leader like her!
Carla even went silent, wondering if some holy spirit from the river had washed away all of Roxanna's evilness and replaced it with angel wings.
Just look at that smile!
Carla's eye twitched as Roxanna kept looking up at her with those big, round doe eyes and a sweet, innocent smile.
It felt like she was staring at someone who didn't have even the slightest bit of evilness inside their soul.
Was this really Roxanna?!
"I-If you really say so… then I'll throw dirt at your face right now!" Carla stuttered slightly as she bent down to scoop up a chunk of mud she had just stepped on.
"You can throw it at me instead!" Calen suddenly said. He quickly stood between Roxanna and Carla, shielding her before the ox beastwoman could throw anything at his wife's face.
Before Roxanna could react, Azul pushed Calen aside. "Harlan is a goldfish. I'm a fish too. It's only fair that she throws it at me!"
Then Cyrus shoved Azul. "No! I'm stronger. I can take it!"
Followed by Zeir growling as he pushed Cyrus aside. "Move. If someone's taking dirt to the face, it will be me."
Luan said nothing, but he also pushed the others aside. One by one, the husbands began arguing, each fighting for the honor of getting dirt thrown at them instead of their wife.
The ox beastwomen could only stare at them, completely baffled.
Just yesterday, these same men looked like they hated Roxanna from the deepest part of their souls…
But now? They were practically wrestling each other just to protect her.
Carla sneered, then turned toward Roxanna. "Did you manage to make a love potion?"
