Chapter 5 - Entry 4: A Man of God

6 October 2013

I woke up with a flu today after Sam's last night's stunt in the rain and my greed of having him in any way I could.

Like my grandmother always said before, that it's safer for a hungry lion to die from bleeding than to die of hunger. It's a very good lesson for people with a good head on their shoulders, so she says.

May her soul rest in peace. She was a great lady.

And truth be told, I was hungry for Sam. I thirst for his existence; his smiles, his twinkling eyes, how they disappear when he squints at something, how shy he gets when the kids prank him good... God, I'm in too deep. Too deep to even think straight.

Even with everything in me screaming to stay in bed today, I somehow managed to drive to his apartment. Just to get a glimpse of him, but only to miss him by seconds. I watched his bus disappear.

I might be an excellent driver on a normal day, but I was in no condition for a car chase.

So after two hours of asking around, I was finally given a church address.

You'd think he went that early just to get his favorite seat, but no. The man was a Sunday school teacher… to put it mildly.

While the parents enjoyed lessons from God, their creations were busy making hell look like a cozy home for me.

Too much noise. Rebellion everywhere. Nobody was hearing him when he talks and I had half the mind to gag each and everyone of them and tie them to their parents' hips. But I didn't. Because that's just wrong and cruel.

They leave them with him because they want a time out too. A second of peace. And I can't really blame them.

But I honestly don't understand how children of the same age and background can behave so polar opposite.

The nursery kids were loving, respectful, but the ones with my Sammy today?

I wasn't even sure they were kids to begin with.

But he persevered until the mass was over and the children were picked up one by one. But not before the wives gushed over my man though. He's just so enticing and you can't fault that.

Even when I felt this dangerous little push inside me to offer him some ice cream while he was greeting them and maybe say hi to him casually. Claiming my place by his side. I couldn't do it.

Because, before I could even take out the ice cream, I saw Sally and her two fatherless sons climbing on my drained man like he was a mountain or something.

Couldn't they tell just how tired he was? And he had the nerve to play along right in front my eyes!

If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought they were a family and not just platonic neighbors.

What a shameless woman. And man!

And that wasn't even all. She invited him over to a picnic, and he gladly agreed.

Is it unfair of me to think he's cheap?

His standards must be lower than my EQ, If Sally was truly his type.

And I'm actually not one to waste my time chasing a breeze. So, I chose to go with another lesson from my Grandma, Shouting to a deaf person doesn't make you heard, it makes you sore

So, from today... may the Lord help me.

It's going to be the last time I waste my time on you, Sam.

Samson Samantha-Rosie Jonah, I REJECT YOU!
