Chapter 25 - Instant Kill! The Strongest Skill So Far

Morintis was slightly taken aback, caught off guard.

He hadn't expected a dungeon Boss to flee.

The Mine Wolf King fled down the passage, howling continuously as it ran.

As if answering its calls, wolf howls echoed from within the passage one after another.

The situation seemed somewhat off!

Morintis sensed something was wrong.

Instead of ordering the Skeleton Warriors to pursue, he had them fall back to his side.

Screech!

Creak!

Amidst its roars, the iron doors on both sides of the passage swung open.

One ferocious, bloodthirsty wolf after another emerged from behind the doors.

[Mine Savage Wolf]

[Level: 14]

[Strength: 600]

[Agility: 600]

[Spirit: 200]

[Constitution: 1000]

[Skill: Bite]

Under the Detection spell, the information of these savage wolves was laid bare.

Their attributes weren't very strong, weaker even than the Goblin Mine Guards in the tunnels.

But their numbers were vast—at least over a hundred.

The sight of so many savage wolves charging together was enough to make one's scalp tingle.

Morintis wasn't afraid.

Although the Mine Savage Wolves were numerous, their attributes were weak.

His Skeleton Warriors were more than enough to handle them.

However, a question occurred to him: how did other parties deal with these savage wolves?

He couldn't believe a mere party of five class holders could contend with so many wolves.

Glancing at the surroundings and spotting the mine tunnel exit behind him, he immediately understood.

The mine tunnel exit wasn't large, allowing at most one person to pass through at a time.

So, if a Knight could hold the tunnel entrance, supported by a Healer, and a Mage used area-attack spells, they could wipe out the Mine Savage Wolves, albeit time-consuming.

Morintis's reasoning was correct; that's exactly how other parties handled it.

However, there was one thing he didn't know: other parties wouldn't encounter this many Mine Savage Wolves.

Usually, it was only a dozen or so.

This was related to him clearing out all the monsters in the mine tunnels.

It was Morintis's first time in the Mine Dungeon, and he was unaware of this mechanic.

This knowledge wasn't found in textbooks either.

But then again, even if he had known, he would definitely have cleared all the monsters anyway.

How could Morintis pass up so much experience?

As for the difficulty?

Was there any difficulty for him?

From entering the dungeon until now, he had only given a few mental commands.

He hadn't even broken a sweat.

These numerous Mine Savage Wolves were, in his eyes, vast amounts of experience.

The Skeleton Warriors formed concentric circles, firmly protecting Morintis.

The Mine Savage Wolves charged over, crashing into the Skeleton Warriors in a heap.

The savage wolves were ferocious, continuously biting and tearing at the Skeleton Warriors.

Their sharp claws, like knives, struck the Skeleton Warriors.

Unfortunately, their attack power wasn't strong enough to inflict significant damage on the Skeleton Warriors.

Once all the Mine Savage Wolves had arrived, Morintis focused his will.

Five Skeleton Warriors simultaneously attacked one Mine Savage Wolf.

Flesh and blood flew.

With one slash each from the five skeletons, the targeted Mine Savage Wolf fell to the ground with a shriek in just two seconds.

[Killed Level 14 Mine Savage Wolf.]

[Experience +2800]

[Obtained Wolf Pelt 3]

A graceful arc formed at the corner of Morintis's mouth.

Light simultaneously glowed in his palm.

Corpse Explosion!

With a loud boom, the Mine Savage Wolf's corpse was detonated.

The damage was based on 10% of the wolf's maximum health.

The explosion range was 1 meter.

Amplified twentyfold by his Talent, all enemies within a 20-meter radius of the corpse suffered damage equal to 200% of the corpse's health.

This meant these savage wolves had to withstand damage equivalent to 200% of their own health.

No savage wolf could endure that.

Instant kill!

Without a doubt, an instant kill.

Instantly, notifications flooded the screen like a barrage.

Experience soared like a rocket.

In the blink of an eye, his experience jumped from 32% to 72%.

One attack granted 40% experience.

The speed was astonishingly fast.

Morintis was inwardly astonished.

The Corpse Explosion skill was too powerful, terrifyingly so.

Leaving aside whether it could compare to a Mage's forbidden spells, at least at his current level, this skill was invincible.

At that moment, the Mine Wolf King, still limping, returned.

Its eyes held terror.

How had its underlings all died in an instant?

What was that explosion just now?

With its intelligence, it couldn't comprehend it.

Coincidentally, there were several Mine Savage Wolf corpses near its feet.

"Equal treatment.

You try it too."

Morintis's gaze turned cold, a faint light flickering in his palm.

Corpse Explosion!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Three consecutive explosions as three corpses detonated simultaneously.

A wretched cry sounded.

The Mine Wolf King was drenched in blood.

Most of its flesh was gone, leaving only bone.

In some places, even the bones were broken.

Whimper...

The Wolf King let out a final, mournful howl.

Its massive body swayed a few times before collapsing to the ground with a thunderous crash.

Already severely injured, it simply couldn't withstand such devastating damage.

[Killed Level 15 Mine Wolf King.]

[Experience +15000]

[Obtained Wolf King Fang]

[Obtained Low-Grade Monster Core]

"Only 15,000 experience?

The cost-effectiveness is low."

Given the Mine Wolf King's high strength, yielding only 15,000 experience indeed had poor cost-effectiveness, equivalent to just five Mine Savage Wolves' worth of experience.

However, for Boss-level monsters, the pursuit isn't primarily for experience points, but for the items they drop.

The Wolf King Fang is a material for crafting weapons and commands a decent price at the Exchange.

Monster Cores can be used to craft jewelry that amplifies attributes and are also quite valuable.

Monster Cores only drop from Boss-level or higher monsters, and even then, it's not guaranteed.

This keeps the price of Monster Cores consistently high.
