Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Complete the mission

Equipping the Sky Splitter Blade and the Bulwark Coat, Roy tested injecting telekinesis into the Bulwark Coat. The time consumed was exactly 10 minutes—no more, no less.

If he encountered a special situation where his own telekinesis was depleted, he could utilize the stored telekinesis within the Bulwark Coat to continue fighting for 10 minutes, which served as a decent safeguard.

Roy was not skilled with a blade, he wore the coat purely for emergency use.

[ Ability Mastered: Voice of All Things · LV1 ]

The ability orb burst, transforming into light that merged into Roy's body. Instantly, Roy understood the information hidden within the sound of the wind.

The wind itself didn't speak. Roy merely grasped the hidden information within the wind's sound. Birds couldn't converse with him, yet Roy could still understand the message the birds wanted to convey in their chirps: the chicks in the nest were crying for food because not enough insects had been caught today.

Everything in the sky and on the ground presented a completely different perspective to Roy's senses at this moment, allowing him to perceive more information.

Just as the ability description stated, it was purely listening; he couldn't actively communicate.

"Very good."

Roy was very satisfied with this ability. He could almost be called nature's favorite child. Collecting intelligence would be much more convenient in the future, saving a lot of time and effort.

This ability was certainly fitting for the style of the Gaia Consciousness. As for the Gaia Medallion, Roy pocketed it. He didn't dare to use this item rashly.

From the item's description, Roy knew he could use it to conduct a transaction with the Gaia Consciousness. But he had just eliminated Number One. Using it now didn't seem entirely safe.

Theoretically, the Gaia Consciousness could only control natural balance through environmental factors and forces within the planet and the universe. But who could guarantee that the moment Roy appeared before the conceptual personification of the Gaia Consciousness, it wouldn't attack him?

Every world has its own Gaia Consciousness. Roy decided to use the Gaia Medallion in another world later, which would be safer.

After handling the equipment, items, and abilities, Roy's telekinesis surged violently.

"Sweep and cleanse all the Zombies in the entire world in one go."

With that said.

Oong—

Invisible ripples covered the entire continent. In an instant, countless Zombies exploded into a mist of blood, whether they were the Zombies in abandoned cities or Zombie beasts lurking in the wilderness.

They were all dealt with in a flash.

In a wilderness area.

"Motherf— damn it damn it!!"

John was running desperately, his face panicked. Behind him chased a horde of bloodthirsty, frenzied Zombie beasts. The Zombie beasts' rotting muscles revealed ghastly white bones, and their internal organs could even be seen.

Bang!

As John's soul froze in terror, a dull explosive sound suddenly came from behind him. He looked back, his steps slowly stopping, his face filled with astonishment.

The bloodthirsty, frenzied Zombie beasts were nowhere to be seen, leaving only a cloud of dark red blood mist.

"What happened?"

The same situation occurred all over the world. On this day, as if a savior had descended upon the world, Zombies everywhere were completely cleaned up.

______

In a certain abandoned city.

"Roar!"

A gigantic Zombie over two meters tall roared skyward. Dense Zombies surged forward like a tide. At the center of the intersection, a few survivors held weapons, leaning back-to-back, their bodies covered in dark red Zombie blood.

"Tyson, I think we have to write our wills here."

"What bad luck, this damn luck."

"Hey, we're about to die anyway, so don't hide anything. We're all the same kind of people, right? You know what I mean, don't play dumb."

Tyson was a twenty-year-old young man. He held a sword in his hand, his short blue hair particularly prominent. He wiped the blood from the corner of his eye, his expression calm enough that no emotion could be discerned.

Hearing Tyson's words, the others chuckled.

"This is something everyone understands implicitly."

"Wish I hadn't come. Staying home with my gaming PC would have been much better..."

"They're coming!"

Before he could finish, the surrounding Zombies lunged forward. Tyson shouted and used his sword to deal with the few Zombies rushing him, then he was submerged in the tide of corpses.

At the crucial moment.

Bang!

An invisible ripple swept through. All the Zombies were instantly obliterated. The force of the Zombie explosion stunned the few people. In the last moment their consciousness remained, Tyson was bewildered.

"What happened?"

Roy circled the planet several times. Any Zombie or Zombie beast that entered his sensory range was instantly exploded into a mist of blood. The sheer number of pure Zombies in the world was actually only around 2 billion, but the Zombie beasts were different. The total population of wild animals was hard to estimate, and the number infected into Zombie beasts was not small.

Especially animals in the ocean had no way to escape, which led to a colossal number of Zombie beasts. This rampage resulted in two consecutive upgrade missions being completed.

Boom! Boom!

With two successive upgrades, Roy's telekinesis soared crazily. Very quickly, his sensory range completely covered the planet's surface. He was so strong that he himself could hardly believe it.

He compared it to the planet's diameter and roughly estimated his sensory radius to be 300,000 kilometers, precisely equivalent to the speed of light. Perhaps this was the limit.

"300,000 kilometers..."

This was a supremely exaggerated distance, no joke. Roy could now crush this planet like squeezing a snowball, with ease.

Such colossal power was contained within his frail body. He himself felt this was somewhat too absurd. Roy calmed his mind, firmly grasping this power, lest he destroy the planet by accident.

The frantically updating Zombie kill count finally stopped at 4.384 billion and showed no further movement. This meant that all Zombies and Zombie beasts had been completely cleared out.

It was a slight pity that he couldn't break the ten-billion mark to complete the final upgrade mission, but Roy was already very satisfied. Knowing contentment brings happiness—this was a habit and an advantage he had developed after the apocalypse on Blue Star.

With a thought, Number One's headless corpse flew to his front. Roy opened the interface, which displayed a long-stalled prompt:

[ Main Mission · Complete ]

[ Do you choose to submit the mission immediately? ]

[ Yes ]

[ No ]

If Roy had continuously chosen "No," the mission submission option would have remained until five years later, when the main mission deadline expired and it would automatically complete.

The truth of the apocalypse was clarified, Number One's body was in hand, and all the Zombies in the entire world had been cleaned up. It was time to end the mission.

However, before ending the mission and returning to the Apocalypse Space, Roy still had one wave of spoils to secure.
