Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: A Clever Everyday Life

"Before I answer your question, let me ask you one first," Naruto chuckled. "Why does Naruto always manage to talk-no-jutsu people successfully?"

Sakura's expression stiffened a little. "Because… he's the main character?"

"Exactly." Naruto nodded. "When we read the original for the first time, his words feel inspiring—plus the anime throws in flashbacks and emotional BGM. But if you really think about it, most of what he says doesn't hold up under scrutiny."

"But we transmigrators are different. We know the key characters' personalities, weaknesses, and abilities. We can tailor our 'talk-no-jutsu' to the target."

"Using it on Kakashi this time was a test. And the result proves two things: the plot can change—and talk-no-jutsu has absurd potential!"

Sakura listened and nodded. "So it's like speedrunning Dark Souls on NG+, using an exploit to cheese an NPC and grab quest rewards early."

"…Uh, basically. From now on, we should use talk-no-jutsu more. But at the same time, we need to keep the overall plot from drifting too far, so we don't lose our information advantage."

"Good idea. But the main cast might change because of your meddling. And you have to be careful—there could be other Earthlings who transmigrated here too."

"Yeah, I know. We'll just follow along with some D-rank chores for a few days. After we clear the Land of Waves arc, we'll have a better sense of whether there are other transmigrators out there."

Naruto said goodbye to Sakura and went home, sitting cross-legged to enter his mental space.

It was time to talk to Comrade Nine-Tails again.

With his eyes closed, he sank his mind downward. This time, he felt the shift in space even more clearly—his senses had sharpened.

He opened his eyes.

"Feels like I have a bit more control over this place," Naruto muttered. He took a step forward—and in an instant, he'd moved several paces.

Was this his cheat for coming to this world?

He quickened his pace; the space around him peeled backward like a fast-moving tunnel.

Soon, he stood before the massive iron gate that sealed the Nine-Tails.

Unlike before, a pair of crimson eyes—each larger than Naruto's entire body—were already staring him down, as if the fox had sensed him coming.

"So?" Naruto asked evenly. "Made up your mind?"

"U-zu-ma-ki Na-ru-to," the Nine-Tails chewed his name slowly. "Few people are like you—pathetically weak, yet ridiculously arrogant."

Its voice shook the air like a localized earthquake.

Naruto clicked his tongue. "You really don't know me at all. Here, let me put it this way: just suppressing this space takes up half my chakra. Even so, I can still spit out thousands of shadow clones."

The Nine-Tails snorted. "That's just the Uzumaki clan's built-in battery. Nothing special. You still need my power."

"Wrong." Naruto shook his head again. "I didn't come here to bargain this time. I came to notify you…"

He paused, then said clearly, "For now, you're… not useful."

"So stay locked up and behave for a while."

The Nine-Tails fell silent.

The space didn't quiet down with it. Instead, hairline fractures appeared in the air like glass about to shatter.

Threads of blood-red chakra seeped from the gate, creeping toward Naruto.

"Brat, you think passing one test makes you invincible?" The fox barared its teeth. "Let me show you how vast the gap between us really is!"

Naruto didn't flinch. He just raised his right index finger, wagged it side to side, and yanked his mind upward.

In the blink of an eye, his consciousness jumped out of the mental space like a fish leaping from water.

His room snapped back into view.

Sweat soaked his shirt. Naruto hopped off the bed and took several deep breaths.

He pressed a hand to his pounding heart and laughed. "Man, my fear of giant stuff is about to flare up."

Truthfully, he still wasn't used to facing something as enormous as the Nine-Tails.

He'd have to desensitize himself over time—by talking to it constantly.

But overall, he was satisfied with the current progress.

Why hadn't he taken the fox's chakra just now?

First, that chakra carried too much negativity.

Second, he needed repeated push-and-pull to keep lowering the Nine-Tails' perceived value.

In other words—PUA.

Naruto knew this game well.

Back on Earth, his boss had constantly "encouraged" him with lines like "your seniority is too shallow," "you lack innovation," "your family background can't match your peers," trying to make him pay the gap with free overtime.

All utter bullshit.

Some fresh recruits from elite universities couldn't even use Excel properly, and he'd still had to hold their hands to finish work on time.

But he'd learned the core of PUA:

Keep belittling someone until they're dragged down to your level—then you become "valuable."

Just like that bald monk of a manager.

Now Naruto would keep trash-talking the Nine-Tails' worth so he could pull the fox down to his level, making later "negotiations" much easier.

That evening, Naruto hit Ichiraku for dinner. Teuchi's ramen was becoming dangerously addictive; even thinking about the char siu smell made his mouth water.

Was there Otsutsuki aphrodisiac in the pork?

After eating, he rushed to the training grounds and started with shuriken practice.

Naruto understood his chakra was currently tied up suppressing the Nine-Tails, so learning new jutsu right now would be inefficient.

He'd wait a while before adding Rasengan drills.

Interestingly, he bumped into Sakura at the training grounds too. She was experimenting with some weird new technique he couldn't make heads or tails of.

She didn't invite him to train with her—just worked silently on her own.

"Another hardcore grinder." Naruto muttered and went back to practice.

He was more curious than ever about who Sakura really was on the inside.

He still couldn't tell if she was an actual girl… or some unbelievably crafty "macho zero."

Time passed.

Naruto's life settled into a strict loop: low-rank missions, training, study, repeat.

He started visiting the library to relearn ninja theory and fill the original Naruto's empty head with real knowledge.

Some nights, if he couldn't sleep, he'd dip into the mental space to "chat" with the Nine-Tails.

Same routine: endless belittling, zero borrowed chakra—just grinding the fox's nerves raw.

The Nine-Tails grew more desperate to prove itself.

Naruto didn't care.

Sometimes, when training annoyed him, he'd dive into the mental space just to deliver a formal, bureaucratic scolding—and then bounce right back out.

Ahh… so satisfying.

And in this calm daily life, two not-calm things happened.
