Chapter 4 - Small steps

For the people of Stormwind especially those that either lived or worked in the Royal palace, Their 2nd Prince was nothing short of a miracle child with quite a bit of people thinking he was personally blessed by the Holy Light itself.

3 years had passed since Alastor's adoption into the Royal family and it did not take long for King Llane's intuition to be proven correct at his extraordinary nature.

Most notably was how Alastor was growing at a accelerated rate, he was 3 years old yet had the appearance of a healthy 6 year old albeit one with physical and mental capabilities which would be considered Prodigious and monstrous even in Azeroth.

The reason was simple.

The human Royal families, a vast majority of Noble families and to a lesser extent the commoners were descended from powerful human bloodlines far back from even before the Iron Rebellion from those who were already inhabiting Azeroth.

Many of these people were ones that were descended from the lineages of the Men of Gold and people that had refined their genetics to a very high level.

Due to this while rare it was not unheard off for some commoners especially young ones to display powerful physical and mental capabilities even without training if they were lucky enough to unlock their hidden genetic potential either through stimuli, training or even upon birth.

Nobles on the other hand were almost always born with these traits due to their stable or recently stabilized genetic factors while Royal families that ruled their Kingdoms had the same genetic factors, the extent of their enhancement was even further!

So it shouldn't be surprising even if Alastor displayed extraordinary abilities it shouldn't have been too shocking, Yet it was obvious that the young prince was a cut above even the Royal standard and was hailed as a once in a millennia prodigy.

"Alastor Alexander Wrynn where are you!" Queen Taria Wrynn had a frown as she walked down the halls of the Prestigious Stormwind royal castle searching for her younger son while her friend and lady-in-waiting Alicia Fordragon followed her with a wry smile.

"Come now Taria give the poor boy a break, he's already excelled at his studies by the light I won't be surprised if he already completed them to not be made to sit through those lessons, my son is not that different minus the learning rate."

"I know Alicia but those lessons don't just teach things on paper and he would know if he doesn't try to run off every time he gets a chance. As a prince he should know he must uphold a example for others."

"I wouldn't know considering I see you rarely scold him despite your claims to do otherwise, in fact I recall last time-"

"Hush you!" Unfortunately for the Good Queen, Alastor had learned both the art of flattering and the puppy eyes which were even more devastating on his cherubic face.

"Mother?"

A handsome and muscular young man with black hair, dark green eyes and fair skin appeared from the next hall even though he was 15 due to the Royal genetic factor aside from the enhanced Physical and mental capabilities he already looked like a 18 year old man.

Varian Wrynn. Taria and Llane firstborn son and the the Crown Prince of the kingdom of Stormwind and the elder adoptive brother of Alastor Wrynn walked out of the next hall and looked bewildered at his mother.

"Varian, good to see you have you seen your little brother anywhere?" Taria smiled as she looked at her other pride and joy. She loved both of her sons equally and took pride in their accomplishments and talents.

Varian opened and closed his mouth "No clue mother I have absolutely no clue where Alastor is currently" He said all this with a straight face while facing the direction of a certain chamber.

Smiling Taria nodded and entered the room which was a mix of a bedroom and office for guests and looked around before her sight fell on a inconspicuous large box in the corner of the room.

"At least give the boy credit for ingenuity" Alicia tried to offer defence even as she tried to stop herself from giggling.

Did he really think hiding in a conveniently placed box which was very out of place would turn him invisible? (AN: Legends will get the reference)

Taria also tried to not smile as she put on a stern face and approached the box while Varian admired the exquisite craftmanship of the walls.

'The Walls are truly made in the image of walls'

Taria removed the box and underneath it was a adorable 6 year old looking boy with Indigo eyes, fair skin and black hair wearing a blue clothing with yellow ascents who looked shocked that he was actually discovered.

"How!?"

"Sweetling I don't understand how at times you can show pure genius yet in other times you do things that make me question your intellect" Taria said with the most blank look at the contradiction that was her son.

Alicia not being able to hold back from the cute display pitched Alastor's cheek easily ignoring his protests "You are quite the adorable little dummy aren't you little prince"

How she wished she also had another child who was as quirky and adorable, alongside her son Marcus and her daughter Taelia if only her husband Bolvar got his damn head out of his armour and oaths she might already have another one!

"Hey!" Alastor protested but didn't try to physically move her since he did not feel any sting or discomfort due to his inhumane endurance and seeing Alicia as a Aunt.

(AN: Closest image I could find of Alastor's face minus the clothing)

But then his gaze fell on his elder brother who was still admiring walls and he realized how he was found! "You Traitor! I trusted you!"

"That is slander little brother. I swore I would not speak even a peep of your hiding spot and I did not "say" a single word regarding it" Varian's face was the perfect example of stoic chivalry.

But only if people did not know the context.

Getting her fair share of entertainment Taria looked at Alastor. "You are late to your lessons again Alastor"

"But mother! I can easily skim through them and still get the desired results"

"You know I am not talking about your theoretical lessons Alastor, like right now you have your history lesson-"

"Oh! why didn't you say so mother. Then I'll be off love you." As soon as he heard which lesson it was Alastor's eyes brightened as he gave his mother a quick hug and dashed out of the room.

"Honestly that boy...." Taria sighed with a exasperated smile "Oh don't act like you would have it any other way he's living up to the family name with how he ran like a 'Storm's wind'" "Why must you torture me so much with those dreaded puns!?"

Shaking his head at the antics of his family but smiling Varian quietly leaves as well to the training yard to train with Anduin Lothar.

Author's Notes: I

Hey here's another chapter, a hopefully wholesome one that showed the dynamic between Alastor his mother, elder brother and his unofficial aunt, I made it to show how Alastor is currently living his life and put groundwork over the world's setting.

And before anyone asks the reason Alastor isn't already a giant despite being a Primarch was because like Roboute he was in a very safe environment and being raised by a loving family so there was no need for his body to mature to "protect" him.

More things about the world and Alastor will be revealed as Chapters progress to build upon, wish me luck since story writing is hard doubly so when you have ADHD and a job like me.
