"In the past when Azeroth was cut off from the wider galaxy due to the effects of Iron War and the turbulent Aether Storms, Azeroth was effectively isolated ironically the Gravity wells of our twin moons and the protection of the World Ring contributed in our safety from external threats even if they also helped isolate us further"
"At the start like any civilization our world fell into Chaos and instability as order and institution died, allies turned on each other, new factions were made and destroyed and MANY people regardless of race or status died as well as much knowledge was lost; we can call this period of time the Stygian Ages"
"But then 2,800 years ago Emperor Thoradin who by that time went by the name of Thoradin leader of the Arathi tribe of humans declared himself the first human king of Azeroth and began uniting the other scattered human tribes under his command, either by negotiation or by blood"
"Finally he found the first human civilization and ended the Stygian ages which he named the Arathor Empire with his capital being the Great city of Strom which is now--"
"Stromgarde! the capital city of the Stromgarde kingdom" Alastor said excitedly before he blushed a bit in embarrassment for interrupting. "Sorry master Henry"
"Haha no need to apologize your highness it warms my heart you take such enthusiasm in my lessons"
Henry was a old learned scholar of Stormwind Kingdom's Science Guild which was mostly in charge of research, invention, innovation and rediscovery of lost knowledge in the kingdom like it's counterparts in the other Kingdoms.
While the most sought after position in the Science Guilds were that of "Forgers" and "Researchers" in which Forgers normally handled the manufacturing and creation of armaments and other technologies
While researchers invested their time in acquiring new knowledge, innovation and re-discovering lost technologies as well as knowledge that was lost in the past specifically in the Stygian Ages.
That did not mean the Science Guild only dealt with such fields exclusively there were also other branches like Historians, Philosophers, Chemists and Astronomers to name a few.
Henry was a accomplished Historian who's field of study was the analysis and compilation of history. He was looked like a man who just entered his twilight ages and still had a "youthful" spark in his black eyes but do not be fooled he was over 200 years old at the least.
This was mainly due to the fact that despite being a commoner he was one of the few that had his genetic "awakening" in his young childhood but unlike many who would become strong Knights or powerful Mages Henry had given himself to the study of knowledge and had over his years contributed much to the Science guild and was honoured by even King Llane.
"Now how about we continue?"
Alastor nodded eagerly History was one of his favourite subjects mainly due to the fact it almost always talked about the many heroes of humanity which rose either before the inception of the Arathor empire or after it's founding wise scholars, brave warriors, mystical mages, great Kings and queens.
So what if he was a Primarch as he would find out in the future, like any young boy he loved stories of heroes! especially when his parents would regale him tales of them.
As for the boring parts like why the former King of Alterac banned sheep from his kingdom was put into the back of his memory if by some miracle would need that information.
Henry continued. "Shortly after the inception of the Arathor Empire and the reorganization of his armies, Thoradin waged war against the Beastkin, Orks, Black Guilds and the Black Iron Dwarves to either eliminate them or at least drive them out of human territory to safeguard his borders. Now can tell me why Emperor Thoradin fought these four races specifically?"
Alastor nodded and dutifully answered. "Because each of these races were not only threats to humanity but had taken part in much of our suffering during the Stygian Ages"
"Beastkin were once humans but due to the chaos of the past their Alien and Beast genes mutated beyond control causing their mutations to go out of control and overwhelm their minds and their sanity becoming mutants who knew only violence, slaughter and war, they reside in the wilderness and have a powerful reproductive ability to repopulate their numbers"
"Orks were just as violent as Beastkin if not more so since they actively seek war and conflict which they strive on, they are able to make crude weapons and technology that works for them due to their WAAAGH! energy which was said to affect reality to somewhat suit their needs"
"Black guilds were illegal Magic Guilds that went against the tenets of Magic and actively communed with malicious entities within the Aether for knowledge and power which every time ultimately led to much death and destruction by these Black Mages"
"Finally the Black Iron Dwarves were the cousins of the Bronzebeard and Wildhammer clans who were experts in fire and shadow magic but their king-well Thane, Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan corrupted by the allure of Daemons made a pact and summoned a monstrous and powerful Fiery Daemon called Ragnaros who's summoning killed Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan and many lords of the clan"
"Ragnaros then proceeded to corrupt the Black Iron Dwarves kingdom turning them into cruel, greedy and despots who raided the other territories for wealth, material and souls to offer their "Patron" with one of their main victims being the Human Tribes"
Henry nodded with a smile at the answers. "Very good your highness now do let's continue, he won them, The High Elves joined Arathor early on in the war and soon enough with the consecutive victories, The Bronzebeard and Wildhammer Dwarves also joined and with their combined might they were able to break and drive out these races from their territories for the most part."
"The Orks were driven to the Savage lands, The Beastkin numbers were greatly culled causing them to retreat into deep wilderness areas, The Black Guilds were all destroyed with their surviving members going into hiding while others were hunted down and burned alive."
"As for the Black Iron Dwarves they are all dead now....let's say their greed and cruelty had led to their destruction nearly 300 years ago why and how we will soon discuss"
Henry frowned a bit as he remembered the destruction of those Dwarves and how their insanity had left them with one of the biggest problems in Azeroth even with their destruction....even now after so long he clearly remembered the face of that Green monster in that raid.
