Selene's POV
"What?"
Harper froze in disbelief." No, this can't be happening! Is your machine broken?"
"No ma'am ." The sales assistant said, smiling patiently. "I have tried five machines and your card just won't go through."
"No!" Harper shook her head in denial." That's not possible. I just used this card yesterday to buy a bag."
"Or maybe I should try it again?" The assistant asked as she held the black card a bit high.
"Wait, pass the card to me," Harper said as she collected the card, scrutinizing the card again with wide eyes.
Serena stepped forward as she couldn't help herself, she said, "What's the matter? The card's not working?" Her words were filled with sarcasm as she continued. "You were so cocky a minute ago, and now you look like a deflated balloon. I just love watching a wannabe silly she-wolf get knocked down in embarrassment. It's better than any movie!"
