Selene's POV
"I'm not getting high with you, Serena," I said, laughing lightly.
Finally, we stepped into the main event room and my eyes bulged in surprise.
"What the heck?" I muttered under my breath.
The scene before me was a sight to behold. A pack of Alpha males and distinguished men filled the banquet hall, some dressed in business suits, others in casual, yet classic outfits, and a few flaunting top-rated styles.
As Serena and I walked, the air was thick in anticipation, as every pair of glowing eyes seemed to lock onto me. I felt the weight of their gazes on my skin which made me feel uncomfortable.
Contrary to what I was feeling, Serena squealed in excitement, her eyes focused on the tower of wines arranged in the bar.
"Oh my. Chris really tried to put this off for me."
Ignoring her claims, I mumbled slowly, "How are there so many men here? I can hardly find any woman." I asked, my eyes scanning the room with a mix of curiosity and wariness.
