He'd come back to the country with a single objective: stay under the radar as an appealing guy earning decent money without catching the eye of Clearwater's power players.
If Harold noticed him, how would he maintain his cover and quietly accumulate wealth?
As we reached the waiting vehicles, just when lan was about to climb into my car, someone snatched him by his collar. Malcolm.
"Come on, pal, ride with me. I dig your energy," Malcolm smirked, dragging lan away before he could object.
lan gave me a frantic look, wordlessly begging for rescue, but the moment had passed.
