I never intended to visit her workplace today.
My original plan involved stopping by her home later, but something about that approach felt wrong. Too intimate. Too presumptuous. This conversation required boundaries, formality, and proper distance.
Rejecting a potential mate bond demanded respect and professionalism, not casual house calls.
So I chose her office instead, arriving without warning this morning.
My security detail and I received the expected treatment from her staff. Respectful nods, welcoming gestures, and practiced courtesy greeted us at every turn. I instructed my men to maintain their distance as her receptionist escorted me toward the executive suite.
Nothing could have prepared me for what waited beyond that door.
The moment she appeared to greet me, the atmosphere changed completely.
