"Little one," Judy and Atlas whispered in unison, their voices threading through my mind with maternal warmth.
Heat crept up my neck as I glanced down at Jeffrey. His crystal blue eyes gazed up at me with complete innocence, as if those same eyes hadn't blazed crimson just moments ago in the crowded mall.
I steered both children toward the parking garage, Naia's small fingers wrapped around my left hand while Jeffrey bounced alongside my right.
My pulse hammered against my ribs, though I kept my expression calm. These weren't ordinary children. Jeffrey carried his wolf spirit at barely four years old, and Naia already showed signs of the gift that ran through our bloodline like Aunt Naia and Queen Jaelyn.
They were extraordinary, both of them. Whatever it took, I would help them master these abilities.
We were nearly at the car when sharp footsteps echoed behind us.
"Stop right there!" A woman's voice cut through the parking garage air.
