Jasmine's POV
My fingers stayed wrapped around Palmer's sleeve as I refused to look away. Jayden's expression twisted like I had just delivered a physical blow, his face a mask of shock and something darker.
The hallway felt suffocating. Every breath seemed to catch in my throat as our classmates pressed closer, forming a tight circle around us. Their eyes darted between Jayden and Palmer like spectators at a boxing match, waiting for blood.
Jayden's hands clenched into fists, his entire body rigid with barely contained fury. Palmer, however, remained perfectly calm. He actually had the nerve to tilt his head with mock confusion.
"Why do you look so upset?" Palmer's voice carried across the silent hallway. "She's not just my girlfriend. She's my mate."
