Chapter 21 - CHAP-19: THE PREVIOUS WAREHOUSE WAS DESTROYED

After Ashira finished watching the live broadcast, her computer screen beeped and lost signal. Of course, this wasn't because it was banned for being too bloody. It was because... The website server crashed.

The City's power was still on, and the internet was still available, but website servers scattered across the country didn't shut down at the same time.

Some small website servers placed directly in Administrators' homes or offices had already failed a few days before the apocalypse.

Larger companies could last a long time even without management. But obviously, this large video platform had already gone belly up. This also meant the online frenzy was gradually coming to an end.

For a while now, no one would go online to vent their emotions anymore. They had to face the apocalypse era head-on.

After Ashira closed the website, she opened her downloaded movie and TV show library. Fortunately, she had already downloaded all the resources she could find, so living alone and watching her stored movies wouldn't be a problem.

After she finished eating and was about to pause the movie halfway through, her monitor emitted a beeping alarm sound.

"Beep—"

Ashira immediately rushed to her monitoring control station. All her surveillance equipment was connected to her large computer. On the numerous surveillance screens, an inconspicuous small screen in the corner lit up.

Ashira was slightly taken aback when she saw that monitoring screen. It was the surveillance feed from the warehouse she had rented before!

After Ashira took Storm and the supplies from the warehouse on the day the apocalypse arrived, she forgot to dismantle the surveillance camera.

The monitor was currently showing the situation of her warehouse door being invaded. Because the surveillance cameras she bought were good ones with sound recording, the conversations outside the camera were also transmitted.

"This woman rented the warehouse from me over half a month ago. I saw a lot of delivery trucks going in and out here recently! She definitely has supplies here!"

"But you rented this to someone else, isn't it illegal!?"

"What time is it now! Who cares about legality! Hurry up and loot it!"

"Exactly! If she has stuff, she should share it with us too!"

With a loud "Clang!" Ashira's former warehouse door was broken open.

The old landlord led a large group of people and aggressively rushed inside. But when they rushed inside and took a look... They were all dumbfounded.

"What the! How is it... so empty?" The old man was speechless.

"Dan, is this what you meant by 'full of supplies, stuff everywhere'?"

The old landlord man looked at the empty warehouse in front of him, not even a piece of cardboard left, and kept saying. "Impossible! I clearly saw cars coming in and out here every day during that time! She only came a few times a day, how could she possibly move everything out!"

"You must have seen wrong! Even if cars came in to deliver goods, it's impossible that everything was for her! A few packages, a few boxes, and people would just move them away!"

"What a bad luck! We worried and followed you here for nothing, a wasted trip!" The group of people left, muttering curses.

The old landlord was even more furious before leaving. He looked up and saw the surveillance camera Ash had left there, and smashed it down with a stick.

"Beep——" One of Ashira's surveillance cameras was gone.

Ashira saw this scene, leaned back hard into the chair behind her, and was in an excellent mood.

She knew that many people would target her, so she had prepared by renting a warehouse long ago. Otherwise, with the apocalypse breaking out now and the ugliness of human nature fully awakened, if she let many people know about her Base, people would definitely come over.

It's better to be prepared, caution is key. Watching these people return dejected and frustrated, she felt both fortunate and secretly amused.

However. She was always a bit petty. That old guy who smashed her camera, she'll remembered him.
