Chapter 81 - chapter 81

Five Minutes"

Doomsday's Evolution Stops… and the World Gets One Chance

The battlefield was silent.

Smoke curled from the crater where Doomsday had been hurled by Damian's apocalyptic flames. Its body twitched—once… twice… then stopped.

Green Lantern scanned it with trembling hands.

Then froze.

"Batman… Superman… its regenerative matrix—

it's not working."

Batman narrowed his eyes, running a dozen calculations in his head.

"Damian's fire… it didn't just burn it."

"It interrupted the adaptation cycle."

Superman's eyes widened.

"How long?"

Lantern swallowed.

"Five minutes… tops."

Five minutes.

Five minutes before the most dangerous monster in the universe evolved to resist Damian's fire—

then healed—

then became unstoppable.

Batman's voice cut through the shock like a blade.

"We end this now."

The order hit the League like a lightning strike.

And every hero moved at once.

A Storm of Power

Green Lantern unleashed a drill construct the size of a city bus.

Flash hit Mach 7 and delivered a thousand strikes in two seconds.

Wonder Woman launched a golden shockwave with her bracers, shattering bone plates.

Hawkgirl and Hawkman smashed its limbs with nth-metal.

Black Canary screamed a sonic blast that cracked its skull.

Everyone—every single hero still standing—

attacked with everything they had.

Doomsday fell backwards, body smoking, bone spikes shattered, regeneration still stalled.

Superman looked at the monster.

Then at Damian—unconscious in Batman's arms.

And something inside him snapped.

"No more."

Solar energy surged through him—

not fully healed,

not at full power,

but burning with rage and purpose.

He rose into the air.

Superman Returns to Full Strength

The sunlight from Damian's blast still lingered in the air—

a feast for Superman's cells.

His wounds sealed.

His vision sharpened.

Power raced through his veins like fire.

He breathed once—

and the air trembled.

Wonder Woman whispered:

"…Kal is going all out."

Batman didn't answer.

He just held Damian tighter.

Superman blasted forward—

a sonic boom ripping across the battlefield.

The End of Doomsday

Superman slammed into Doomsday at full speed, driving the monster deep into the crater. Debris exploded outward.

The creature roared—trying to evolve—trying to heal—

But the five-minute window wasn't up yet.

It was still vulnerable.

Superman wrapped both hands around its neck.

"You hurt Metropolis."

"You hurt my friends."

"You almost killed a kid"

His eyes glowed red.

"This ends NOW."

With a final, world-shaking strain—

SNAP.

Doomsday's neck shattered.

The monster collapsed, limp.

But Superman didn't stop.

He fired his heat vision—

not in beams—

but in a continuous, burning column of pure solar fury.

Doomsday's body began to disintegrate.

Bone turned to ash.

Flesh evaporated.

Every cell burned faster than it could adapt.

Within seconds—

Nothing remained but a smoldering pile of gray dust.

The Phantom Zone

Mr. Terrific appeared beside Batman, T-spheres humming.

"Kal! If you're doing what I think you're doing—step aside!"

Superman flew back as Terrific deployed the containment field.

A glowing cube snapped open—

a hole in reality—

a window into an endless black void.

The Phantom Zone.

Terrific swept the ashes into the containment field—

the dust swirling like smoke in zero gravity.

"These ashes are still dangerous.

If even one atom regenerates—"

Superman nodded grimly.

"Send it in."

Terrific pressed a command.

The cube shattered into white light—

And Doomsday's remains vanished into the Phantom Zone forever.

Silence

No cheers.

No celebration.

Just exhaustion.

And relief.

Superman landed beside Batman, breathing heavy.

Batman was still kneeling, Damian held in his arms.

Superman touched the boy's shoulder with a trembling hand.

"He saved me…"

"He saved all of us."

Batman nodded.

"…He has that habit."

The two heroes look at one another and the boy who changed both their worlds

Inside the System's World"

Damian Wakes Somewhere That Isn't Reality

Darkness.

Silence.

Then—

A single spark of golden flame flickered in front of Damian's eyes.

He gasped, sitting upright.

He wasn't in the Watchtower.

He wasn't in the Batcave.

He wasn't anywhere in the real world.

Instead, he stood in an endless black void…

with glowing circuits of light running under his feet like digital constellations.

A place he had been before.

The System's Inner World.

Damian exhaled slowly.

"So… I'm unconscious."

A chime echoed around him.

"MISSION STATUS: SUCCESS."

The void lit up with crimson and gold energy.

Panels of holographic text appeared around Damian in a circle.

DOOMSDAY EVENT COMPLETE

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE ACHIEVED:

PROTECT SUPERMAN — COMPLETE

ENSURE SURVIVAL OF JUSTICE LEAGUE — COMPLETE

ENSURE DAMIAN WAYNE SURVIVAL — COMPLETE

ENSURE DOOMSDAY NEUTRALIZATION — COMPLETE

A soft hum vibrated through the void.

"You performed beyond optimal parameters, Host."

Damian sighed.

"…Barely."

"If I didn't burn that monster to delay its evolution—Kal would have died."

The System didn't answer, but the void pulsed in agreement.

"THE REWARD HAS BEEN UPDATED."

Golden light poured down like a waterfall, forming two floating items:

1. GRONCKLE IRON — HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON

An ingot of impossibly dense, dark metal hovered in front of Damian.

Even in this dream-space, it vibrated with raw, indestructible weight.

"Indestructible metal…"

"Perfect for forging."

His mind raced with possibilities—

new armor, new blades, upgrades for Toothless—

But the System wasn't finished.

2. CYBERPUNK TECH PACKAGE

A holographic cube floated forward, spinning.

Inside it: glowing diagrams of limbs, organs, and complex nanotech.

The System explained:

"Included schematics contain full cybernetic limb and organ enhancements."

"Fully safe. No cyberpsychosis. Compatible with all species."

Damian's breath caught.

He whispered:

"This could… cure so many people."

"Fix wounds that shouldn't be fixable."

The System's tone lowered.

"Correction: it can save you, Host."

He froze.

"DEATH-LIKE EVENTS DETECTED: 3 TIMES."

Damian frowned.

"Are you saying… I nearly died three times today?"

The System projected the moments:

Doomsday's first strike—when he shielded Superman.

The shockwave that shattered half his armor.

The moment he collapsed after awakening Amaterasu Flame Mode.

Damian clenched his fists.

"I'll get better. Stronger."

"I won't let the League save me. I'll protect them."

The void pulsed—almost… proud.

The Rewards Sink In

The Gronckle Iron melted into sparks and sank into Damian's chest.

Knowledge of its forging properties filled his mind instantly.

The cybernetics cube unfolded into pure light—

streams of data swirling into his brain like a download.

His eyes widened as new knowledge crystallized:

He could craft cybernetic hearts

Eyes with microscopic precision

Limbs stronger than steel

Implants that worked with magic users

And tech capable of stabilizing Kryptonians, Amazonian physiology, Atlanteans…

Everything he'd need for the future battles the System warned him about.

A Final Message

The System dimmed.

"Host… danger levels will now escalate."

"Your interference in the Doomsday Event has altered multiple future probabilities."

Damian stiffened.

"Which ones?"

The System's voice became distant.

"Information locked until next mission."

The void began to dissolve.

A doorway of white light opened.

"RETURNING TO REALITY."

Damian took a breath.

His body still ached.

His heart still raced.

But his resolve hardened like steel.

"Okay."

"Time to wake up."

He stepped into the light—

And the world came rushing back.
