The streets were eerily quiet; you could even hear the birds chirping. But online, especially in the neighborhood groups, it was bustling. Everyone helped and cared for each other. At this time, money couldn't solve problems anymore. The most common method was bartering. Because you couldn't go out to buy things, savings and property prices became meaningless. To reduce contact, people would place a self-service box outside the elevator or lobby. The best-selling items were undoubtedly cigarettes and Coca-Cola – they were truly hard currency. I clearly remember trading two necklaces for four cans of Coke. Although I took the chance to quit smoking, many people ended up smoking even more due to depression and anxiety. That period reminded me of the deep neighborly bonds from my childhood alleyway days, just like family. Truly, when one side is in difficulty, others come to the rescue!
