To ensure he didn't miss anything, Hades continued to survey the area around the village. What he had seen so far were only NPCs of the Ainz Ooal Gown guild; as for members other than Momonga, he hadn't seen any.
Although it was possible that only Momonga from the Ainz Ooal Gown guild had come to reality, such a conclusion could not be drawn lightly. He wasn't too worried about those NPCs.
If it were him before he spent a lot of money, he might have found it more troublesome, but the current Hades did not see these NPCs as a threat; players were his true threat.
He didn't know all of Momonga's personal information, but relatively speaking, Momonga knew nothing about him, which meant he could solve the problem with minimal information exposure.
However, if Nazarick had other members, the outcome would be uncertain. Perhaps he wouldn't lose, but information would definitely be leaked.
Due to thousands of job classes, a player's personal information also accounted for a portion of the PK outcome. If one knew the opponent's job class and attribute composition beforehand, they would have a great advantage.
If there were other guild members, Hades might have to temporarily leave and choose to avoid their sharp edge.
After a thorough investigation, Hades found no traces of other players. Within the village's effective range, there were only Momonga, Albedo, the Elf Twins, and fifteen Eight-Legged Blade Assassins.
"Hmm, maybe they are inside Nazarick and didn't come out with Momonga."
Hades put down his monocular and fell into thought.
Now he needed to make a decision quickly. Hades truly had no confidence that a notorious guild like Ainz Ooal Gown could be good people after arriving in a world without legal constraints.
They inherited all the power of YGGDRASIL. Even ordinary people who suddenly gained superpowers had the potential to become evil, and even he was a bit excited last night, let alone those who had questionable conduct in the game.
There was no basis for trust! Compared to offline games, online games could better reflect a person's character. YGGDRASIL was such a game; although within the game's allowance, doing things that couldn't be done in reality would not be criticized.
However, if one defrauded other players, that behavior could reflect their true character. Although Nazarick had not been heard of committing fraud, malicious PK and looting players' equipment often occurred, and this behavior was more detestable than fraud.
Because a player's equipment was made with effort or even real money, although it was within the game's allowed scope, if it became a long-term behavior, it could fully reflect what kind of person the other party was.
Human nature is the most fragile thing under scrutiny. If Momonga discovered him, he would also consider his existence a threat, and might even initiate an encirclement with Nazarick's members, which was something they often did in the game.
It was uncertain what Momonga would do in reality, but this otherworld obviously had no constraints. Observing the soldier's tier magic, this otherworld was probably similar to the YGGDRASIL world.
If there were no effective means to restrain Ainz Ooal Gown in the game world, and it was the same here....
Hades grew concerned about his personal safety. Benevolence, righteousness, morality, and feminine compassion would all become hidden dangers. Being a morally perfect person whom others could not see was useless; being responsible for one's own life was the right path.
Even if he were to be judged as an evil person one day, it would still be better than him falling into danger due to a moment of soft-heartedness.
Momonga was likely in this village to gather information about this world, just like him, but sooner or later he would leave here. And he had an entire guild as a base; it would probably be a bit troublesome for him to break in alone.
Although he could break in using the "Will of the World," just like in the game, he would still need some help to overturn Nazarick; going in alone was a bit risky.
Moreover....
Hades sighed, "Will of the World" was incredibly powerful, but it was ultimately one of the "Twenty" and would disappear after one use.
And he knew nothing about this world yet. Using it like this would be too reckless; at least he needed to understand the situation of this world before making plans.
After this analysis, Hades suddenly felt that perhaps sniping Momonga at this time was a rare opportunity.
Momonga had a guild base like a turtle shell, and he himself was a Magic Caster who could use teleportation magic. If they hadn't happened to meet now, it might only be possible to force their way into Nazarick to find him later.
"Damn it!"
Hades made up his mind. Sniping Momonga was not only because it was a rare opportunity, but also to test if Nazarick had other players. When he beat Momonga half to death, Hades didn't believe his guild companions would just stand by and watch without appearing to help.
This way, he could find out how many members of Ainz Ooal Gown had come here. Although doing so would certainly have drawbacks, after weighing them, Hades believed this was an opportunity to obtain information about the The Great Tomb of Nazarick.
His guild, "Great Kingdom of Cats," most likely did not come here, but Momonga had the power of an entire guild. If he didn't get the information now, it would undoubtedly be even more difficult later.
Those fifteen Eight-Legged Blade Assassins were not difficult to deal with, but the three NPCs were level 100 NPCs, and they also had Divine Items. Killing them was out of the question; it simply couldn't be done.
This was because if he wanted to kill Momonga, he couldn't spare attention for the three NPCs. Since he couldn't kill them, he couldn't let them interfere with his fight against Momonga.
"Hmm, magic item books...."
Hades sank his consciousness into his infinite backpack and began searching. The opponent had too many people; he needed to find some helpers to hold back those NPCs.
After a search, Hades had a book in his hand. This was a type of magic item book that could summon monster mercenaries using gold coins. The more gold coins consumed, the higher the level of the summoned monster mercenary, and monster mercenaries would exist forever unless they died.
Hades didn't have a lot of gold coins; he had about 200 billion on him. These gold coins did not exist as physical entities in the infinite backpack; they would transform into physical entities when needed.
After taking out enough gold coins to summon monster mercenaries, Hades began the summoning. A magic circle unfolded in the air with the magic item book as its center, and then a humanoid monster emerged from the magic circle.
But when the magic circle disappeared, the monster mercenary fell uncontrollably. Hades, seeing this, quickly cast "Flight" magic on him.
The summoned mercenary was a humanoid monster called "Hanzo," a ninja-type monster over level 80, skilled in reconnaissance and stealth.
"My sincerest apologies, Lord HaHaHa·Hades."
After being subjected to "Flight" magic, Hanzo hovered in the air. He knelt in the void before Hades, lowering his head to apologize.
Although Hades had already seen the agile, lifelike postures of Ainz Ooal Gown's NPCs and had some suspicions, he still felt a sense of unreality when he saw the monster mercenary he summoned greeting him.
"Rise," Hades said.
"Yes, Lord HaHaHa·Hades." Hanzo raised his head, changing his posture from kneeling to standing upright, though doing these actions in mid-air was a bit strange.
"Just call me Hades. Don't add 'HaHaHa' before it," Hades corrected Hanzo. He regretted it now, the foolish name he randomly came up with. What he regretted even more was why he hadn't bought a name-change item later.
"Yes, Lord Hades," Hanzo said respectfully.
"Hmm, what's your name?" Hades asked. Hanzo was just the racial name for this humanoid monster mercenary.
"Hanzo is my name, Lord Hades," Hanzo replied.
Hades thought for a moment and felt it was a bit inconvenient, because he would need to summon a few more Hanzos later, and having them all with the same name might be a bit confusing when acting.
"Alright, from now on, your codename is One," Hades said. Naming things was too troublesome; using numbers was simple and clear.
"Yes, Lord Hades," Hanzo One readily accepted.
"Very good, then..." Hades took out four more magic item books from his backpack.
These five Hanzos needed to help him deal with those three NPCs. If the plan succeeded, he could completely instantly kill Momonga.
