Chapter 6 - Killed in the Forest?

Takuya was already excited to become an anti hero, but only for a few minutes. He was immediately brought back to reality that he was weak.

Takuya walked through the streets of the capital. He saw everyone wearing medieval clothing except for some people who wore outfits that looked like fantasy world attire with magic staffs, shields, giant swords, magical beasts being ridden, and several other things.

Takuya scratched his head. He was confused about what he should do. He was now walking without any purpose at all. The smell of food entered his nose. His stomach growled, but there was nothing he could do about it. He was poor. Not a single coin was in his pocket.

"Bastards, they did not even give me money. Is this not too much? That bitch woman and that stupid king are truly excessive. If only I were strong..." Takuya stopped his words.

He opened his status screen. There was really no skill except the gacha skill. He had already tried using magic. Channeling mana into his hands or whatever it was, but... nothing worked. He had no affinity for magic, at least not now.

Takuya let out a long sigh. He looked at the sky. "What is actually my purpose for being summoned into this world? Is it only to become a loser?" he complained.

Takuya clicked his tongue again. He did not know how many times he had done that today. Without realizing it the day had turned to evening and he no longer had a place to sleep. Staying at an inn? Impossible.

Suddenly Takuya had an idea. "What if I just sell all my clothes? These are unique clothes in this world, right?"

He nodded. He felt like a genius for coming up with that idea. Immediately he went to a clothing store and started offering the clothes he was wearing, but instead of getting coins, Takuya was considered crazy and thrown out of the store.

"It seems that modern world clothing is not that interesting to them. This makes no sense," he complained.

Takuya stood up. He cleaned his clothes and started walking again. His stomach growled again, but he did not know what to eat. Takuya turned to one direction. He stared blankly toward that place.

"I have to eat or I will die of starvation."

He then walked with determination. His whole body began to tremble from the lack of energy. Takuya would go to the forest, hunting animals that he could possibly hunt like small animals.

He knew it was risky because there was a possibility that other fierce beasts would appear. But he had no choice. It was the only thing he could do. If he did not eat, he would die. If he went into the forest, he might die because he might be attacked by monsters.

Takuya felt that whatever he chose, the end would still be the same, which was that he would die. Of course he did not want that to happen.

"Eat grass? No. No, I will not do such a crazy thing."

Takuya's stomach growled again. He then made his decision.

"Alright. Die for food or die of hunger."

**

"Aaarrgh!" screamed Takuya.

Sharp claws slashed his shoulder. His body was thrown and hit the ground hard. Blood dripped from his wound, his breathing became irregular. His vision blurred. He had just entered the forest for five minutes, and instead of encountering rabbits or harmless animals, Takuya was greeted by vicious magical beasts.

In front of him stood several Black Fanged Magical Wolves with dark gray fur and electric blue lines across their bodies. Their eyes glowed faintly like magic stones, and hot air came out of their mouths every time they breathed. Those creatures were not normal wolves.

Takuya read the monster's name clearly above the creature's head.

[Shadowfang Lv. 25]

"Are you serious?" whispered Takuya while trembling. "I just entered the forest and I am attacked by a level 25 monster. Does the Goddess really want me to die?"

Takuya jumped backward. He dodged the attack of the Shadowfang. He found an opening and threw a strong punch at the Shadowfang.

POP!

The punch did not injure the Shadowfang. Instead the beast lifted its arm. Takuya was immediately clawed by the Shadowfang. His body was thrown once again. He crashed into a large tree. He was in pain. He felt like some of his bones cracked.

"Damn it. Why am I so unlucky?" he groaned.

When he had followed Seraphina and the others, they found magical beasts or monsters only after they reached the middle of the forest. On the outskirts, there was nothing like this. However, when he went alone, it turned out like this.

And this was the same forest.

When Takuya tried to stand, his legs were hard to move. His shoulder was bleeding. His breath was heavy. He could only stare at the Shadowfang slowly walking toward him. The Shadowfang was ready to give the final attack and end Takuya's life.

"Am I going to die here?" he muttered. "I have not even gotten a single skill... and I am already going to die. Damn you, Goddess of Gacha!" cursed Takuya.

The Shadowfang lifted its head slightly. Suddenly its ears twitched. As if it heard something from far away. It growled... then for some unknown reason, the creature turned around and ran away. It moved away from that place as if it were afraid of something.

One step, two steps, and then it dashed away, disappearing behind the trees as fast as a shadow swept by the night wind.

Takuya was stunned. He smiled a little.

"I survived," he said softly.

Takuya was relieved. He closed his eyes. He tried to regulate his breath to calm himself and forced his body to stand and return to the city, but he fell again. His legs were weak as if they had no strength. Takuya's stomach growled again.

His eyes felt heavy. His body shivered. Cold sweat drenched his face. His breathing was unstable. His breath was suffocating. He had truly reached his limit.

"In the end I will still die. Damn it."

Slowly his eyes began to close. Everything began to blur and finally, he fainted.

Alone.

Helpless.

[Would you like to pull now?]

[Yes. No.]

Takuya was half conscious when he saw the notification. Without thinking he pressed [Yes]. A light appeared, but he did not care. His body was exhausted, cold, and weak because of the wounds on his body that had gotten worse. When the light began to fade, Takuya saw something strange.

"Is that not like a human?"

He dismissed his own words and closed his eyes again. He returned to sleep while hoping that after today, he would still be alive and could get a satisfying result. Takuya hoped his gacha this time would be interesting.

"At least give me a small bodied Elf girl," said Takuya before he slept.

[Congratulations! You have summoned: Maid Girl.]
