Chapter 89 - The dark lady

"You are not the real dark lady." Katarina's eyes showed no emotion; she had already checked on the real dark lady's condition and knew this one was fake, but for her to be so weak...

Her opponent was on her knees taking heavy breaths. With some small blows, she had already taken a big injury on her face.

"Who the fuck are you?" She yelled at the white-haired woman; without using equipment, she had already bested her in under a minute.

Katarina looked around the floor; all the citizens had already escaped from the building, and broken plates and tables had taken over the room.

"Let me guess, you are a shapeshifter who thought you could fake being the dark lady while she is in a slumber." Her hands shone with a silver glow. "For ten years, no one noticed you. I'm fascinated. Did you have a plan for when she wakes up?"

"Will she wake up???" The shapeshifter's hands started to shake from fear; just seeing her sleeping body had caused nightmares for her.

"In a few decad..."

"Or already has awakened." A new voice joined them as a shadow cut off the head of the shapeshifter. The corpse changed form into a white body with no face or human features as it died. Before it could vanish completely, Katarina swallowed her brain.

"Isn't it, my little snow white?" The woman's came from deep within her throat, "And there is my lovely angel."

"I told you not to fucking kill her." Ray jumped out from a hole on the ground, with Vladimir's body sealed with dark ropes around him.

"My hand slipped."

"How the hell do you have your memories too?" Ray sighed; the number of people with future insight just increased.

The dark lady sat on the corpse of the shapeshifter. "When that black hole started, I was on earth too for the backup. Another Immortal jumped in. Where is Green?"

"She's being hunted by three generals and two kings at the same time, and you should be cautious too." Katarina inspected her body, a long cloak covering her whole figure and dark armor underneath it. A small part of her hair was visible from the hood, blonde hair and red eyes, and everything else was covered by darkness.

"How was life as an Immortal on Mars?" Ray threw Vladimir's body on the ground; his eyes were showing fear from the conversation that he was witnessing.

"Miserable, on the first day I lost both of my eyes; after that I couldn't even conquer any land. The Immortals in there are on another level." Her fingers picked up a trace of blood and licked it; white, sharp teeth came to light for a mere second. "That's why I'm happy with the time travel; this time around I know what to do."

If Ray wanted to rank people he had seen in his life for fighting power, Dark Lady had to be number one with no contest.

Once she and Jade and Katarina had a competition to see who would be the number 1 terrorist on the military billboard; after that, the dark lady killed two generals, and the other two signed out themselves.

Katarina asked with a curious tone, "So why did you break your cultivation? You are just in the early stages of level 8."

"To send a massage." Her eyes narrowed on Ray. "My devil said that the answer to your question is not 'how' but 'why.'"

"I don't know your devil, but say thanks." Ray didn't know what he meant; he had many questions, and that couldn't be applied to any of his questions.

"Anyhow, now I'm awake, I'm going to become one of the kings, so we are going to be enemies."

"Be careful." Katarina sighed; the situation was becoming more and more complex. "King of Silence is working with the military behind the scenes, and they want to make the thing you wanted too."

The red glow of her eyes grew as she yelled, "Did they succeed?"

"With my calculations, they should succeed in 20 years." She turned to face Ray, "And you seem to run out of time before that. Tell me the truth, what is happening?"

There was no point in hiding it anymore, so Ray started to explain, "There is a prophecy that I will die in 60 days, and there is no running away from it."

"Should I trust you with that? Do you need my help?"

Ray shrugged, "No. This is a game between higher beings, and we are just pawns, so we should just play our roles for now."

"What are you going to do with that boy? He seems tasty." The dark lady inspected Vladimir's figure. "As a slave he is not that bad."

"Unfortunately for you, we need him for now, and he will not survive after that." Ray kicked him in the stomach, "and this other girl is going to be public property."

Vladimir grinned his teeth; his companion's body was next to him, deep in a slumber.

"Khikhi, I should find some good slaves for myself then." Darkness rose from the ground and swallowed her figure. "See you."

"I will send him to my secret basement. You go and wake up that vice general." Katarina took a deep breath; she hated when her calculations were wrong.

Ray didn't respond as he started to move to the lower floors; even with the sudden interference, the outcome stayed the same.

"Raol, wake up." He slapped his face a few times; after the fifth attempt, he slowly opened his eyes. "You ok?"

After seeing that he stood by his beliefs after being pushed to the limits even, Ray's respect for him increased.

"I'm not dead? ... Is that you, Ray?"

"Yeah, I was around here with my assistant; you were lucky."

Raol jumped from his place, "The judges."

"Two of them escaped, but we captured one of them." Ray smiled. "The acid one—what are you going to do with her?"

"I will think about it later. Violet is ok too?"

"Yeah, but she is still asleep." Her body was put next to them. "Others should arrive in minutes."

"... I don't know what to say. Thank you, man."

"It was my duty." Ray said with a sad voice, "Many people died, but I'm happy that you survived. We will take their revenge."

Raol looked at him with teary eyes, unable to say anything.
