On top of the research base, Felix looked out over the ocean when Levy came rushing over. Her face was a bit red while wearing an expression of panic. Even her usually neatly tidied hairband was missing.
"Felix, there is a problem."
It seemed not long after the trio dived down, an accident occurred. Now they are stuck on the ocean floor and only have about six hours of air left, but it is unknown if they could live those hours. The heating system seemed to take a hit and unknown if what hit them won't strike again.
"Is the creature coming to the research station?" Felix asked.
"No." Levy shook her head.
"Then we don't do anything. The station will have a back up plan and we will just continue to guard the station as the mission requires." Felix replied.
Levy seemed a bit off about his seemingly cold reply, but there really isn't much they could do. Even if she wanted to save the three down there, they didn't have a way to get down there. So her shoulders just sag as she realized he was right.
"Then what do you suppose we do?" Levy asked.
"Just wait." Felix answered.
Not long after, both Minway and James rushed out from below and got onto the airship. The two took off and headed towards land.
"What do you think they are doing?"
"Bringing someone to solve the issue." Felix shrugged.
This proved to be true as a few hours later, the two returned with another man. The man had a head covered in short hair that wasn't much different from being bald. He also seemed a bit muscular as he walked like a tough guy and his face showed a no non-sense attitude.
--
"So only two came back." Levy looked a bit sad.
After Jonas Taylor arrived and geared up, he dived down chasing after Suyin who took off before. While down there they discovered the cause of the wreckage and it was a massive shark that was said to be long extinct due to shifts in climate.
A megalodon.
To top it off, this one even turned into a magical creature. Luckily it only seemed to know the magic to strengthen its own body. For before it rammed or sped away, it would trigger its body enhancing magic greatly improving its defenses and speed.
Thanks to the submarine lights when Jonas attached his sub to the wrecked sub to rescue the trio. It basically acted like a beacon for this massive shark and Toshi shoved his friend the Wall up before separating the subs. After turning on all the lights to draw the shark attention, he died as the sub exploded.
Placing a couple fingers into the ocean, Felix injected a bit of magic in an attempt to use search magic around the station. Much like the times before when he checked, at first there didn't seem to be a problem.
Until he felt a massive creature rapidly ascending within his search range.
"Time to work." Felix said seriously.
"Huh?" Levy looked confused for a moment.
"A large creature is heading this way from below." Felix said.
"How should we drive it away?" Levy asked.
Felix thought for a moment before a pair of white wings appeared on his back. He scooped up Levy and took off into the sky heading a bit away from the station. Due to the sudden grab, Levy wrapped her arms around his neck as they soared.
"We need to bait it away from the station. So use your script to create the bait needed." Felix said.
Levy instantly understood his idea and began to write using her magic before pausing. She turned her eyes to him.
"What kind of creature is it?"
"Proably a megalodon. I think it followed the submarine back." Felix said.
His mind wandered to long ago as memories of a movie he watched many times appeared. The research station, familiar names and them attempting to solve the massive shark to learn. It vaguely appeared in his mind before he refocused.
"That's bad." Levy said as she began her magic.
She wrote the word blood in the air and a bloody letter took over. The iron smell of blood filled their nose as it fell into the water, dying it a bit red for a moment. Still, Levy continued to write it repeatedly until a large dark shadow appeared below and soon broke the water.
Soaring higher as a large head with large razor sharp teeth snapped at them. A megalodon did indeed appear and it wasn't one that used magic.
'Why didn't it use magic?' Felix felt a bit perplexed.
Under his Alpha Stigma, he didn't see it using the body enhancing magic from before. So it made him wonder if the one from the footage using magic didn't follow but this unrelated one did. Then he shook his head as that didn't make sense.
"Umm, Felix, is that another large fin?" Levy pointed.
Following her finger, they saw a large fin poking out of the water before an even larger head poked out of the surface. The large head was biting down on a whale.
"Two of them?" Levy said with a tremble in her voice.
'Ah, that makes a bit more sense. Why would an unrelated megalodon follow the submarine when the one with magic is unable despite being nearby.' Felix thought.
"So what should we do?" Levy asked.
Felix just hummed as he thought about it. Besides protecting the research station like they were tasked. There was no real reason for them to go fight these massive sharks as long as they stayed away from the station. On the same front, it would be pretty bad to let these two massive sharks roam the ocean.
It wouldn't be wrong to say they are an invasive species from a different time period. So he didn't want to kill them, but also couldn't let them harm fishing ships. It appears that these two are very violent and extremely hungry.
"I could seal them, but there's really no place to put them." Felix answered.
"Return them back into the deep ocean?" Levy suggested.
Felix shook his head as it seems the research center will be conducting more trips down there. What would be the point of putting these two down there just for them to return later on since they probably felt the surface held more food. Now that they know that such abundant food in their eyes is up here, they will probably look for a way to return.
"Then we can only remove them." Levy said.
"Mmm." Felix nodded.
After saying this, Felix began to prepare to fight the two large megalodons as one seemed to be heading this way. So after taking a deep breath, he began to use his magic as he decided to use water magic.
"Water Magic: Giant Water Prison."
Before Levy's eyes, a large portion of the ocean suddenly began to lift upwards where a large charge was at the edges. Her eyes shocked at the display of magic as this seemed impossible in her understanding.
