Eko sat alone by the campfire, staring at his trembling hands.
Everything sounded louder. The crackling fire. The wind. Lolly's heartbeat. Geo's breath behind him.
Geo approached and tossed a piece of metal beside him. "Do something for me."
Eko frowned. "What is this?"
"Pick it up," Geo said. "And tell me what you hear."
Eko hesitated… then lifted the metal.
Instantly he heard faint vibrations — like distant throbbing.
"That's… heartbeats."
Geo nodded. "From the zombies in the valley. Miles away."
Lolly gasped. "Eko… this isn't normal."
Eko's voice cracked. "I KNOW!"
He slammed his fist into the ground, cracking the earth.
Geo stepped back.
Lolly ran forward, cupping Eko's face in her hands. "Look at me. No matter what happens… you're still Eko."
His breathing slowed.
He rested his forehead against hers.
For a moment, they were too close.
Too intimate.
And Geo watched, heart breaking silently.
