Era 2137, Germany, Berlin, Grand Iron Cross National Prison.
No interrogation?
This is truly f***ing ridiculous.
When Joseph and his team arrived at this prison, they had expected the guards to welcome them with severe torture. Instead, like other war criminals, their lives were very mundane. There was no torture to extract confessions as they had imagined. The guards' attitude was extremely cold; they neither treated any prisoner particularly well nor deliberately beat up those they found merely eyesores. Of course, Joseph knew they had been arrested by mistake and that someone should come to rescue them eventually. After all, they were not so-called "war criminals."
However, they were locked up now, after all.
Until their rescuers arrived, there was nothing they could do.
At this very moment, a group of "thugs" charged into the prison.
"We want to meet Joseph!" the thugs roared.
However, the prison guards still possessed the ability to control the scene and were obviously not frightened by this group of thugs. The Warden slowly walked up to the leader of the thugs and spoke in a slow but extremely threatening tone: "Little brats, I'm afraid this prison isn't a place for you to run wild, is it? You dare to demand to see people arrested under the orders of the Solar System Federation Committee? Where do you think this prison is? Do you think it's some small tavern you see on the road that shuts down because a customer reported them for 'substandard service'? And do you think our 3rd Prison Guard Battalion are waiters used to being bullied? Buddy, to be honest, we don't buy your act."
However, when the intruder displayed his nameplate, the Warden instantly froze as if he had been struck mute.
"Alright, I'll take you to see him."
Upon seeing Joseph, the thug leader immediately grabbed him by the collar. Although Joseph was startled, he was evidently a seasoned soldier and could handle the trouble caused by such thugs. However, just like the Warden, after seeing the intruder's nameplate, he could no longer remain calm.
The logo on the intruder's nameplate was the iconic symbol of Seventh Base: Darts and a Star Cluster.
"Tell Sakuragawa Kiyoyuki to get the hell out here!" The thug waved his fist angrily, attempting to intimidate Joseph.
"Who is Sakuragawa Kiyoyuki?" Joseph was instantly confused; there was no one named Kiyoyuki in his memory.
The thug, however, did not indulge him. Joseph's second warning came in the form of a slap.
Joseph was so angry he almost passed out. I clearly know nothing, yet you come looking for me. Do you care about evidence at all? Do you have any proof that I know someone named Sakuragawa Kiyoyuki? Could you please investigate clearly before coming to find people next time?
But obviously, the thugs were not going to believe his words now. They shoved Joseph aside and rushed into the cell. Joseph wanted to rush in and beat up the big fat guy, but he was firmly pinned down by the prison guards. He understood that he couldn't help this time and could only pray that God would be kind to his teammates.
However, God didn't seem to be on their side this time.
Shortly after, the thug leader dragged Kazumiko out with one hand while holding a plasma sword in the other. Joseph tried to step forward to grab her, but evidently, his body couldn't break free from the powerful electronic shackles.
The thug tied Kazumiko to a wall on one side, then brandished the plasma sword, preparing to chop at her head.
Suddenly, an elderly man rushed in. "Are you f***ing crazy?! Do you not know who they are?" He then signaled his subordinates to untie Kazumiko, and the thugs were taken away.
"Thank you, Director. If you had come a step later, we might have lost our lives here!" Joseph's face was full of gratitude, but the Bureau Director looked at the Warden with a stern face. Hearing these words, he simply waved his hand at Joseph.
Subsequently, the Warden was taken away by the Director of the Secret Police Bureau for a "private talk."
At this moment, Joseph suddenly realized: Was Kazumiko's real name Sakuragawa Kiyoyuki? This was a bit unbelievable. However, after listening to his companions' explanations, his doubts were resolved. It was obvious she didn't want the thugs to catch her. Perhaps she had long understood that these thugs wouldn't let her go, so she used a pseudonym. She just hadn't expected the thugs' information to be so precise, coming to kill her within a few days. Fortunately, the Director arrived today and saved her. Since the future trouble was gone, there was no need to hide it anymore.
Meanwhile, Belgrade quietly came up behind Kiyoyuki, hugged her, brought his mouth close to her ear, and whispered gently to her: "Since the threat of the Seventh Base spies has been lifted, there's no need to hide it anymore, right? My little princess, Chiyuki."
