The sky tore open like parchment, revealing a darkness thicker than a moonless night. A figure descended slowly—a tall, cloaked being radiating shadows that twisted reality itself.

Asteria staggered backward. "Oh, come on. Seriously? Didn't we just finish our chaos level?"

Kael stepped forward, eyes blazing. "Step back. Now."

The figure's voice slithered into the courtyard. "So… the Starweaver awakens." Every word seemed to chill the air. "And the Moon Prince… you protect her well. How… quaint."

Lunevar tightened his grip on his blade. "Who are you?"

"I am Noctyra," the shadow hissed. "Sent to claim what is mine. The Starweaver cannot defy destiny… not without suffering."

Asteria glared. "Excuse me, destiny doesn't get to have opinions! I'm tired of being the universe's punching bag!"

Kael growled, moving in front of her. "If you touch her, I swear—"

"Prince," Asteria interrupted, cheeks heating. "I can handle—"

Kael ignored her. "No. You're not fighting this alone."

Noctyra laughed—a sound that echoed like shattered stars. "How touching. But futile."

Asteria's hands tingled, the silver magic within her thrumming. She wanted to act, to fight—but fear and exhaustion tangled her focus.

Kael saw it. His jaw tightened, protective fury radiating from him like a shield. "Asteria, listen. You don't have to do this alone. I'm with you. Always."

Her chest fluttered. That voice. That determination. Her heartbeat betrayed her. She wasn't just afraid of shadows anymore—she was afraid of losing this.

"I… okay," she whispered.

Together, they moved. Kael's sword shimmered with moonlight. Asteria's magic glowed brighter than ever before, a ribbon of silver energy coiling around her.

Lunevar flanked them, Puff streaked overhead, and even the Moon Court guards formed a protective perimeter.

Noctyra's shadow surged forward. The clash was inevitable. Magic and moonlight collided, sparks and darkness twisting like a storm.

As the first strike landed, Kael's hand found hers. Tight. Firm. Unyielding.

And in that brief, electric moment, Asteria realized something terrifying—and exhilarating: she didn't want to let go.

The battle for destiny—and perhaps their hearts—was only just beginning.
