[8:30] Am
A loud ding was followed by a dong sound, the school bell had rung.
"Made it!" A young average looking boy ran into the classroom. His spiky brown hair that defied gravity stood up as he wiped sweat off his forehead.
"Yo Rito!" Kenichi yelled the boy's name, getting his attention. Rito smiled and walked over to the empty desk that was right next to Kenichi.
"Hey Saruyama," Rito set his school bag down next to the desk and adjusted himself into the seat. "Is the teacher here yet?" Rito asked, aware of Mr. Honekawa's tendency to be late.
"Nope you actually beat him, for once." Kenichi teased with a wide smile. "So what was it this time? Mikan forgot to wake you up again?"
"N-no." He stuttered as a slight red color came to his face. "I'm the older brother, I don't need my little sister to wake me up." He attempted to deny the truth, his sister was the more mature sibling.
Rito didn't want to admit it, but he relied on Mikan a bit to much, maybe he didn't want to admit it because admitting that you as a high school second year still need your middle school age sister to wake you up wasn't exactly the perfect form of manliness he wanted to achieve.
"Mhmm, whatever you say Rito." Kenichi laid his head on the wooden desk, closing his eyes to just enjoy the few minutes of peace before their teacher actually showed up.
"It's the truth! I swear." Rito bashfully denied his sister waking him up.
"You can't handle the truth!" Kenichi smiled with a smirking grin as he closed his eyes.
"What's that supposed to mean?" His golden colored eyes scowled at the remark
"No I was…Nevermind." Kenichi shook his hand and sat back up. The two sat in silence before Kenichi thought of something to talk about.
"So did you play it?"
"Huh?" Rito looked confused before his entire face turned red in embarrassment. "Of course not you pervert!" He yelled through closed lips. Hoping that his classmates wouldn't notice, though all of them were all tied up in their own conversations.
"Yeah I guess I should have seen that coming." Kenichi shrugged his shoulders, he hadn't expected Rito to get past the start screen. 'Saint slippers girls academy' wasn't for the faint of heart.
"I put it in and…" he trailed off recalling the very, 'graphic', start screen image. "well let's just say you really have earned the 'Perverted monkey' title."
"First off Hurtful, second off, yeah it might have a bit much to start you off with, but I'm just trying to help." Kenichi laughed dryly, he wanted to help his friend here get used to women's bodies, though you would think with how many accidents he has with women he would be well and used to it by now.
"I don't need your help, Saruyama. I can talk to Haruna-Chan all on my own."
"Bullshit." He didn't even need to think about it, he knew Rito was full of it. He could never confess to her and even if he did have the courage to do it the universe itself intervened.
"Pfft, I can totally do it, I can talk to her right now." His cheeks grew a tinge of red at the idea of talking to her. Every time he had tried his words got all messed up and his tongue got twisted.
"Then do it, go up to her and talk to her, I won't even interfere. In fact if Mr. Honekawa comes in, I will personally distract him. Just so you can shoot your shot with your sweet and precious, Haruna. Now go do it."
"I will," He said not moving from his seat, he swore he could hear his heart beating out of his chest.
Kenichi chuckled to himself as he watched the confidence fade from Rito's face; it was a mix between pale and bright red. Not sure how that was possible.
"Alright sparky here's the deal," Kenichi leaned his arm across Rito's shoulder as he gave him some advice. "If you wanna court the little lady, you gotta be a straight shooter. Do you got it?"
"What does that even mean?" Rito was now more confused than scared which I guess was a positive.
"It means go talk to her." Rito was gently nudged by Kenichi who gave him a thumbs up as he slowly walked toward Haruna Sairenji.
Haruna had been the object of Rito's attraction for the past five years now, He had liked her from a distance, finding it hard to even talk to her without some other reason held on his lips. Often times helping her with tasks that were shoved onto her by other people, it helped craft a good image of him but it also helped the two grow close, though it wasn't really a lot. Enough to make both have a mutual crush but not enough for both to talk to each other without having some excuse wrapped around their sleeves. The two were too shy for their own good.
Haruna was a well mannered beautiful girl, her hair blue in color was short and held up by a red hairclip. Her purple eyes seemed to carry a hazy grace to them, almost entrancing.
"H-Har-" Rito stuttered before he caught himself, he had almost screwed up, he had always referred to her as Haruna in his head but he wasn't close enough to her to call her by her first name. So he swallowed his words and started again. "Sairenji, could I talk to you?" He managed to say, surprising himself along with Sairenji who didn't know what to say.
Sairenji wasn't the only person surprised by this, most of the class was, they had been in this class for their second year of high school for two months now and having been stuck with the same people you got to know them pretty well, almost the entire class knew about their mutual crushes. I say almost because some people were just as dense as they were, in fact they were in a pretty similar situation.
"Oh, uh, Yuuki, do you need something?" Her voice was small and bashful, kinda sweet like candy. As the class watched the two of them grown red in the face they silenced their own conversations to see the result of this confession.
"Y-yeah, um Sairenji," He swallowed his embarrassment, he needed to do this, he wanted to do this. "Wou-would you like to go out with me!" He said it, he did it, he had told her exactly how he felt, was it the best time? No. Was it smart to do it in a classroom full of people? No. Had he done it though? Yes. And did she hear him? No.
To understand why lets go back like 15 seconds.
"So do you think he'll actually be able to do it?" A cat lipped boy asked while adjusting his glasses.
"Oh no, he's gonna fail. He never succeeds. But I'll be here to laugh in his face when he does." Kenichi said looking out the glass window into the hallway, no sign of Mr. Honekawa.
"Wow you have zero faith in him." The boy laughed a little at Kenichi's statement, but understood after all he also had a Rito.
"Zero's harsh if it was zero, I wouldn't be on the lookout for Mr. Honekawa, who is surprisingly late." The bell had rung ten minutes ago yet he still wasn't here. Sure he was known for being late but ten minutes was new.
"It's weird but I guess it all works out." The boy said before another boy ran into the classroom with urgency.
"IT'S THE IRON TEACHER!!!!" A dirty blonde haired boy yelled as he ran back into the classroom from his bathroom trip, he had run so fast that his hands were still wet from the sink. He had also yelled so loud that anyone that was talking had been overshadowed by him, even Rito's confession.
