Chapter 254 - Chapter 254: Sinnoh Myth — The true god!

Sinnoh Region, a land rich with myths and legends.

Canalave City, a harbor city shimmering with water light.

Canalave City is special because the city is split by a canal, a foreign-yet-familiar vibe.

Damian and the others walk out of the airport and instantly take in the city's look.

"This is Caitlin's homeland, really full of flavor."

Zinnia peers curiously; she's quite interested in this region because it's Caitlin's home.

"Yeah—haven't been back in a long time."

Caitlin's elegant blond hair sways in the breeze, her eyes slightly cloudy with emotion.

Stepping onto Sinnoh Region again, her mood is complex.

How to describe it?

There's a feeling of things not being the same; though it's only been half a year, so much has happened and her mindset has shifted dramatically.

"Gladion, go round up the organization members, head to Jubilife City, there to buy a few buildings."

Damian gives Gladion the order; to be safe, Team Rocket members are entering Sinnoh Region in batches.

And Jubilife City is Sinnoh's largest city, so of course the company will be built there.

"Yes." Gladion nods.

"Let's take a good stroll."

Plans to "stroll" through the city aside, Damian's goal is clear: head to Canalave City's famous libraries.

Canalave Library, one of Canalave City's signature spots, also houses many books on Sinnoh Region's legends.

Damian and the three of them arrive here.

At first there were only chaotic ripples; in the center a egg appeared, from which the primal being was born.

The primal thing created two clones, time began to flow, space began to expand.

Then it birthed three life forms from its own body.

After the two clones prayed, the so‑called "material" was born; after the three life forms prayed, the "soul" was born.

"After creating the world, the primal thing fell into slumber."

Damian softly reads aloud the book titled Original Story, while Zinnia and Caitlin sit facing him.

"Pfft— are the legends in Sinnoh Region always this dramatic?"

Zinnia closes her copy of Sinnoh Myth, feeling the Sinnoh Region is utterly ridiculous.

Their Hoenn myths at most involve Groudon and Kyogre brawling, Rayquaza descending to save Hoenn, nothing as grand as creation.

Holy crap, Sinnoh Region really goes straight to creation?

That's over the top!

"But it isn't a lie."

Damian closes the book and smiles.

Hearing this, Zinnia freezes, and Caitlin likewise stares at Damian in shock.

"Damian, you aren't implying this is real, are you?"

Zinnia takes Original Story and asks in a raised voice.

What does this book record? Simply put, in a swirl of chaos a Pokemon appeared; this Pokemon created two clones, which created three life forms.

Then the clones created "material," the life created "soul," after which the world was born and the primal Pokemon fell asleep.

That's basically creation itself!

Is it true?

"Don't be so surprised; it's indeed true." Damian chuckles and looks at Caitlin.

Zinnia gasps, not doubting Damian's truthfulness—if he says it, it must be true.

"Caitlin, do you know the Sinnoh Region's legendary Pokemon?"

Damian asks Caitlin.

"The Lake Guardians—Uxie gave humans 'Knowledge,' Mesprit gave 'Emotion,' Azelf gifted 'Willpower.'"

Caitlin ponders; thanks to her old sister Cynthia's love of myths, she does know a lot about Sinnoh Myth.

"And two more legendary creations—mastered Spatial, Palkia; Palkia's breathing steadies Space; and mastered Time, Dialga, whose heartbeats cause Temporal to flow, though no one in modern times has truly seen them."

Cynthia says, according to her research, Dialga and Palkia reside in the rift in time and space.

Caitlin continues slowly.

"Hiss!—"

Zinnia finds this wild; Caitlin's statements are fantastical.

"Isn't that basically a god?"

Zinnia offers her own ideology.

In fact, though Draconid people revere Lord Dragon God Rayquaza, Zinnia knows Rayquaza is a mighty Pokemon, not truly a god.

Other legends like Zekrom, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyurem, etc., aren't gods either.

Only humans' faith and awe for powerful Pokemon cause them to be called gods, such as Lugia being called "guardian of the seas," though Lugia may not truly be a guardian of the seas.

But Caitlin's claim that these reside in the time-space rift and influence the world's Pokemon, aren't they gods?

"Strictly speaking, they are true gods, no problem."

Damian nods; in Pokemon, there isn't a formal category of "gods"; the umbrella terms are Legendary Pokemon and Mythical Pokemon.

Maybe some are fearfully powerful, but they're still Pokemon.

But there are a few that truly are different!

Arceus is the origin of all; the cosmic and world rise from it.

And the so‑called creation trio—Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina.

They are the officially endorsed creation trio! That's their umbrella term.

Myth Pokemon represent spatial, temporal, and anti-matter; their existence is lofty, almost ridiculous.

If Palkia and Dialga have trouble, the entire world and even parallel worlds would be affected, as seen in some anime journeys.

And the Lake Guardians, as the "six holy beings of the world," could also be eclipsed.

In rank, the Lake Guardians who represent "soul" are not to be underestimated; but in terms of power, they're a bit lacking.

So here's an interesting point: rank does not represent their own strength.

Compared with the Lake Guardians, the creation trio are vastly stronger; Palkia's power is immense, especially Giratina.

Though in the movie it was tricked by humans and nearly died, Giratina's strength is outstanding.

It dragged Dialga into the Reverse World and pounded it; Dialga couldn't fight back, only run.

In the Arceus movie, Dialga and Palkia nearly got knocked out by Arceus, and Giratina held the line a moment longer.

Of course, perhaps Dialga and Palkia lacked the Origin Orb, so their strength wasn't at its peak.

But anyway, even with origin, Damian still thinks the two brothers aren't as strong as Giratina.

Also in the Hoopa movie, Giratina faced off against Shiny Rayquaza with Dragon Ascent and wasn't defeated—though Dragon Ascent, being a Flying type, isn't necessarily superior to Giratina.

That shows Giratina's strength isn't weaker than Shiny Rayquaza.

As for the "creation trio" brothers, the Lake Guardians are more powerful than a little; still, rank is rank.

Team Galactic also captured the Lake Guardians, used their power to craft the Red Chain that binds Dialga and Palkia, and controlled their appearances.

Thus the Lake Guardians' power isn't equal to the Myth Pokemon, but not weak either; Sono mono may currently be resting.

Who knows.

"Impressive—Caitlin, do you know what that 'Origin Thing' is?"

Zinnia, shocked, becomes incredibly curious.

Who wouldn't want to know the origin of the world? Who created this world?

"I'm not sure."

Caitlin recalls and shakes her head.

"Perhaps almighty Sinnoh?"

"Almighty Sinnoh?"

Zinnia is puzzled; almighty Sinnoh—what does that have to do with Sinnoh Region?

"Hmm, in the past Sinnoh Region was called Hisui; legend says almighty Sinnoh created Hisui, Kaminagi no Min worships almighty Sinnoh and built the Temple of Sinnoh in Coronet Highlands."

Caitlin explains.

"But the Temple of Sinnoh was destroyed long ago, now ruins, known as Spear Pillar."

She continues.

"As for what almighty Sinnoh actually is—a Pokemon—I don't know."

"That's that." Zinnia sighs.

"Caitlin, one more question: have you heard of Michina Town?"

Damian muses aloud to Caitlin.

Michina Town is the stage of the Arceus movie.

"Michina Town? I think I've heard of it; supposedly it has well-preserved ruins."

Caitlin recalls; Michina Town is famous for ruins thousands of years old and well-preserved.

"Michina Town exists; so would it be like the movie, or not?"

Damian ponders; if not a real, then perhaps only Michina Town exists, but the movie's events did not occur.

And with Dialga around, traveling through time and space might be possible.
