"I wasn't the one who opened the Simon of Hell," I blurt out, the words tumbling from my lips in desperation.
Kevin's expression remains steady, unmoved by my panic. "I'm aware of that fact. I never believed you did."
His calm response should comfort me, but instead, dread pools in my stomach as he continues.
"However, this revelation places you in far greater danger than we initially understood."
James steps closer, his protective instincts kicking in. "She's more vulnerable to discovery now, especially after a high-ranking demon just showed up here hunting for a divine child."
"Precisely." Kevin's tone sends ice through my veins. "Demons have always possessed the ability to travel freely between Hell and our realm. We've attempted to secure the Simon with various seals and barriers, but throughout history, they've consistently found ways to bypass our defenses. They escape, we drag them back. It's an endless cycle."
