Alan glanced at the notifications and smiled.
"So, King of the Lizardmen," he said casually, "are you going to fight or not?"
His body began to expand as muscles bulged violently.
"Orc Transformation."
[ All physical stats increased by 50%. ]
[ All magical stats decreased by 50%. ]
"Huh?" Brynrk sneered. "You made yourself even more primitive?"
He raised his massive greatsword, red fire glowing along its edge.
"It doesn't matter. I will kill you."
Brynrk charged.
Despite his size, his speed was terrifying. The greatsword sliced through the air, leaving a shockwave behind it.
But Alan smiled.
"Blink."
His figure vanished.
Brynrk's blade cut only an afterimage.
"What—?" Brynrk reacted instantly, twisting his body—
—but a sharp pain exploded across his side.
A shallow slash had torn through his scales.
"You're nothing but a practice dummy to me," Alan said coolly.
Brynrk roared, fury blazing in his eyes.
"INSOLENT HUMAN!"
Brynrk slammed his greatsword into the ground.
"Tyrant's Roar!"
A deafening shockwave erupted from his body, shaking the dome. The Snow Lizardman Knights staggered backward, some collapsing instantly.
[ Yo have been stunned ]
[ Failed. ]
[ Movement speed reduced by 20%. ]
[ Failed ]
Alan planted his feet firmly.
He stepped forward instead of retreating.
"Pagma's Sword Dance: Link."
The White Lion Dainslief howled.
Alan moved like a blur, chaining slash after slash, each strike landing at precise weak points between Brynrk's scales.
Clang!
Clang!
CRACK!
Several scales shattered.
"Impossible!" Brynrk roared, swinging wildly.
Alan ducked under the blade, stepped inside Brynrk's guard, and twisted his torso.
" Splitting Strike."
The greatsword came down in a brutal arc.
Blood sprayed.
Brynrk staggered back, one knee slamming into the ground as the ground trembled from the impact.
His HP bar dropped visibly.
The Snow Lizardman Knights froze.
The tyrant who had proclaimed himself king was forced to kneel—injured before them all.
The Lizardman Queen clenched her hands as she stared at Alan.Maybe this human can save us.
"Now let me show you what a true roar is," Alan said as he activated the White Lion's Roar.
A massive spectral lion appeared behind him, its presence overwhelming as it roared toward the heavens.
"DON"T MAKE ME LAUGH" Brynrk shouted as he wasn't stunned, which Alan anticipated already.
White Lion's Roar stuns target for 1~5 seconds and also deal 300% of his physical attack power to an target plus it increases all allies attack power and defence by 60%. This is the best buff skill Alan have aside from Mana Overlord.
Alan jumped back making some distance as he activated Pagma Sword Dance: Restraint
"What—?!" Brynrk exclaimed, stunned. Unlike White Lion's Roar, this was a legendary skill, and Brynrk was completely immobilized.
"Linked Kill."
A total of eleven consecutive attacks stabbed into Brynrk, shredding his HP bar by another massive chunk.
"Is that all?" Alan looked down at him coldly.
"After ruling over something so weak, is this really all you can do?" Alan taunted.
Brynrk's eyes turned blood-red.
[ Target has entered Berserk State ]
[ All damage dealt increased by 80% ]
[ Defense decreased by 80% ]
[ All stats increased by 50% ]
"Thank you for the gift," Alan smiled.
Brynrk looked at him in confusion, unable to understand why this human was smiling now.
Did he go insane from despair after seeing my rise in power? Brynrk thought.
Suddenly, a dark spectral mouth appeared and engulfed him.
[ A part of the target's soul has been devoured by Sapphire ]
[ Target has lost 50% of maximum stats for five seconds ]
[ Your Strength has increased by 2,890 points for five seconds ]
Brynrk felt his senses dull as the loss took effect.
Alan instantly switched stances, activating Spell Sword, and followed it up with Pagma Sword Skill: Kill.
The greatsword pierced straight through the Half-Dragon's chest, striking directly where his heart should have been. At the same time, additional magic damage erupted from the blade.
[ Target has lost a significant amount of HP in a single hit ]
[ Target has fallen into Confusion ]
Alan canceled the transformation skill, switched to his +9 Mumud's Orb, and unleashed Green Extinction Ray—a wood-attribute spell with withering effect.
The ray struck Brynrk, and another portion of his HP vanished instantly.
[ Target is under the Withering effect ]
[ All stats reduced by 50% ]
"And to finish it off…"
"Inferno Spear."
The spear hit Brynrk, completely wiping out what remained of Brynrk's HP before he even had time to scream.
[ You have slain Half-Dragon Brynrk ]
[ 11,234,678 EXP has been gained ]
[ You have obtained 12 Blessed weapon Enhancement Stones ]
[ You have obtained 9 Blessed Armor Enhancement Stones ]
[ You have obtained Brynrk's Greatsword ]
[ You have obtained Skill: Dragon Hunt ]
[ Brynrk's power has been absorbed by the Rune of Predation ]
[ You have obtained Brynrk's Soul Essence ]
Alan stored Brynrk's body and then turned his gaze toward the remaining Lizardmen.
"Now… time to finish you guys off," Alan said calmly.
But before he could attack their name tags turned green, from hostile to friendly, the Lizardman Queen with pinkish-white scales stepped forward and bowed deeply before him.
Notifications flooded Alan's vision.
He paused.
The truth unfolded in his mind—the Snow Lizardmen were a reclusive race, preferring peaceful lives far from other species. They were naturally powerful and blessed with magic, yet gentle by nature.
Everything had changed when Brynrk arrived.
He slaughtered their true king, seized the throne for himself, and forced the Snow Lizardmen into war, expanding his territory through blood and fear.
Alan had ended that tyranny.
[ Affinity with Snow Lizardman Tribe have reached the Maximum ]
[ Although they don't like war but if you were to call them, they will aid you ]
The Queen lifted her head and spoke with gratitude in her eyes."Thank you for saving us, Lord Human. If there is anything you wish from us, please say it."
Alan looked at her, then at the Snow Lizardmen kneeling behind her.
Slowly, he sheathed his sword and stored it into his inventory.
If I slaughter them now, my notoriety will only rise, Alan thought. And there won't be any real rewards either.
They were allies now.
"Well," Alan said, looking around the lair, "someone hid a book here called Alabantinos' Diary. Do you know anything about it?"
The Snow Lizardman Queen shook her head gently.
"I do not know of it," she replied. "But two humans once stayed with us. Each of them left something behind. I will have it brought to you."
She gestured, and one of the Lizardman Knights hurried away. After a short while, he returned, carrying a worn book and a folded cloak.
"These are the two items." the Queen said.
