Sonia sank into the backseat of the car, and the door slid shut behind her with a soft, final click.
The driver started the engine, glancing at her through the rearview mirror as he silently awaited instructions.
"To the hospital," she said softly, leaning her head back against the seat as if the weight of the world had finally caught up with her.
A small smile curved her lips as the memory of what had just happened replayed vividly in her mind.
Kelvin's expression. The hesitation in his eyes. The unspoken tension between them. She sighed tiredly.
'Kelvin… would you believe me if I told you I'm serious?'
'Would you be angry? Or… do you feel the same way I do?'
Her fingers tightened slightly around her bag as conflicting thoughts crowded her mind. 'Or have I misread everything?'
Her smile softened, turning almost fragile as a flicker of vulnerability crossed her face. 'I hope you don't think I'm being a seductress…'
