Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: SHOVEL

After sleeping for ten hours, Arch woke up.He then emerged from the coffin, the cool, sterile air of the lobby shocking his skin slightly. He rotated his shoulders, feeling the pleasant ache of rested muscles. He glanced at the table; Foxxy hadn't stirred.

Fully energized, he clapped his hands together

Another day for another discovery," Arch mused. "Hey, System, are you there?" he called out.

*CREAKKKKK

SYSTEM:SYSTEM IS ONLINE

A creaking noise rang out, and the System's interface appeared, displaying: [SYSTEM: System is online].

"Good," Arch confirmed.

He then ordered the System: "Open the Wallet Tab."

*CREAKKKKK

[ WALLET TAB]

[M=PS]

Money: 100 + 50

Points: 28

Where did this 100 M come from?" Arch asked the System, staring at the huge balance displayed in the Wallet Tab. The System offered no reply.

Maybe it's one of Gramps' magic," Arch shrugged. "Meh, no loss here."

He quickly used the balance to purchase his breakfast: ten sandwiches and two bottles of milk, totaling 12 PS

Immediately, the Big Eyed Monster (the delivery guy) delivered the food. The order arrived packed in a box. Arch opened it, finding the sandwiches sealed in clear plastic and the two bottles of milk neatly nestled inside.

Arch divided the food in half. He separated five sandwiches and one bottle of milk and pushed the box containing the companion's share toward the snake-fox, who had just woken up and was doing its morning stretches under the table.

Breakfast, Foxxy," Arch announced, already tearing into his own sandwich with enthusiasm. The snow-white snake-fox, now fully awake, regarded the offerings before eagerly beginning to eat.

ARCH: Really a top notch quality.

While Arch was eating his sandwich, he casually asked the System, "Did you finish analyzing the strange writings yet?"

The System provided no answer.

Hearing no reply, Arch didn't inquire any further. He knew the System operated on its own time for complex processes.

He then looked over at Foxxy, who was having her own breakfast. Arch watched the companion use its snake tails to manage the meal.

One of the tails was actively tearing open the plastic packaging of the sandwich. As it did so, Arch noticed something new: the snake-fox now possessed four snake tails, where there were once two.

As one set of tails worked on the food, the second set was equally productive. One tail held the milk bottle, while the other held it steady, carefully pouring the milk into the fox's mouth.

"How convenient," Arch acknowledged with a satisfied nod, confirming the new, specialized ability of his companion

After Arch and the snake-fox finished eating, Arch cleaned up the trash and put it all back into the cardboard box. He then kicked the box toward the corner, stacking it neatly

Okay... let's ransack this cave and get moving," Arch announced, standing straight and energized.

Arch casted ROOM (a transparent sphere appeared on his left hand). It expanded, covering the entire cave. Unlike before, he could now control and make the sphere much bigger—a possible upgrade thanks to the Whitebeard Template.

He used the skill to search for treasures or something important. To his dismay, however, he only found rusted utensils and some old, tattered clothes.

Seeing the clothes, Arch remembered his current outfit—the bloodied chiton dress. He looked down at the stained garment. "I think I need a new set."

He deactivated his Room. He then asked the System for a new chiton dress. The System immediately did its work, calculating everything: his height, his weight, and the required quality of the cloth.

Arch purchased the new chiton for 3 PS. The One-Eyed Monster (delivery guy) delivered it in a box.

Arch did an "unboxing." He looked at his new chiton. "Wows, it's so clean and white," he exclaimed.

He changed out of his bloodied chiton and into the new one. "Hmm... looks good and comforting." He put his old, bloodied clothes into the delivery box and kicked the box into the corner where the other discarded items were piled.

Arch looked at the snake-fox and said, "Let's keep going.

He ordered the System to store the white coffin, which the System readily complied with. Arch then grabbed the remains of the skeleton and dragged the bundled kimono along as he headed out of the steel cave.

As he reached the entrance of the cave, he heard a ticking sound. "What's that?" Arch asked.

There was another ticking sound. He looked at the compass hanging on his neck and grabbed it. The compass was moving on its own.

Does a compass need to rest and sleep too before doing its own work?" he joked to himself. "I'll check you later. I need to bury this skeleton first."

Once outside the cave, Arch located a suitable spot to bury the remains. He spotted a red rock nearby and decided to inter the skeleton near it.

He then turned his attention to the System's store for a tool.

"Hey, System, I want a shovel," he requested. "But not an ordinary one. I want an adjustable shovel that's easy to use, and the spoon of the shovel should be sharp like a sword. Can I purchase that?"

*CREAKKKKK

[SYSTEM]: Processing Custom Tool Request: Adjustable, Easy-Use Shovel with Sword-Grade Sharpness.

[SYSTEM]: Generating blueprint... Request viable. Item classified as: 'Multi-Purpose Tactical Entrenching Tool (TET-M).'

[SYSTEM]: Purchase Price: Due to custom material and forging requirements, the price is 5 PS.

[SYSTEM]: Confirm Purchase?

ARCH : WOW yah really reliable !

After Arch confirmed the purchase of the shovel, the System interface changed again and transformed into an old, creaking door. The door creaked open, revealing the void inside.

The One-Eyed Guy (the large delivery guy) was also visible inside the void. Its immense fingernail extended out from the door, and on its tip rested Arch's ordered item, packed in a rectangular box.

Once Arch grabbed the box, the finger immediately retreated back inside the void. The old door then shrank back to its original System interface appearance.

Arch eagerly unboxed the shovel.

It was a sleek, matte-black tool. The handle was clearly segmented, indicating its adjustability, and the blade—the "spoon" of the shovel—was indeed razor-sharp, reflecting the light like a polished sword. This was far more than a simple digging tool; it was a highly specialized weapon/utility device.

ARCH: WOW guarara with this I can also perform some slicing technique inside the ROOM. I'll test it out later.

After Arch unboxed the shovel, he immediately put the Multi-Purpose Tactical Entrenching Tool to use. The sharp blade cut effortlessly into the dry soil near the red rock.

After digging a sufficient space, he placed the kimono-wrapped remains inside the hole and carefully covered it with soil. He even used the shovel to pack the earth down firmly.

Okay, job's done," he exclaimed, wiping his hands on his new chiton. He looked at the grave next to the prominent red rock, offering a silent nod

Arch then turned his attention back to the problem he had dismissed: the golden compass hanging on his neck.
