"Yes. We meet again."
"I never imagined I'd end up dying at your hands."
Suguru Geto slumped against the alley wall, sliding down until he was sitting in a pool of his own blood.
"I didn't expect you to possess long-distance teleportation," Geto wheezed, a wry smile on his lips. "I had Miguel stall Satoru... but I didn't account for you."
"It really was a miscalculation."
Mirai stood half a meter away, looking down at the fallen Special Grade.
"If you were so fixated on Yuta's Cursed Spirit," Mirai asked softly, "why didn't you come to me in the past ten years?"
"Hehe..."
Geto coughed, crimson blood spilling from his mouth.
"Although we are both Special Grade... not all Special Grades are equal to Satoru."
"The Zenin Clan is a fortress. I wasn't going to deliver myself to your doorstep without being fully prepared."
Mirai frowned. "But we had an agreement. You could have contacted me."
"Contact you?" Geto's expression froze. "You would have met me? Alone?"
"Of course."
"Heh... I really missed a huge opportunity, didn't I?"
Geto wiped the blood from his chin with his remaining hand. He looked up at Mirai's spinning red eyes.
"When we first met... I had a premonition."
"Your eyes back then... looked exactly like mine did when I first consumed a Special Grade curse."
"I am all too familiar with that greed. That hunger hidden deep inside."
Mirai crossed his arms. "It seems I really don't have much talent for acting."
"Satoru says the same thing," Geto chuckled weakly. "He always said my smile was too fake."
...
Buzz.
Mirai's phone lit up in his pocket.
"Maki and Inumaki are coming," Mirai said, glancing at the screen. "They're coming to finish you off."
"Do you have any last wishes? Something simple."
Mirai summoned a long, sharp blade from his Kamui Dimension.
"After all," Mirai whispered, "your body will be a great help to me."
"I see..." Geto closed his eyes. "You really are a monster."
"If possible... please don't cause trouble for my family."
"Nanako. Mimiko. The others."
Mirai nodded. "I agree."
"They are insignificant ants. I have no reason to crush them."
"Thank you," Geto whispered.
He looked at the setting sun one last time.
I hate the monkeys.
But I never hated Jujutsu High.
Thwack.
Mirai thrust the blade. It pierced Geto's heart instantly.
Geto Suguru let out a final breath. A relieved smile remained frozen on his face.
Mirai looked at the corpse. A complex expression flashed across his face.
He treats ordinary humans like monkeys. He killed his own parents.
But he was warm and tolerant toward sorcerers.
Righteousness... is truly subjective.
Mirai waved his hand.
Warp.
Geto's body spiraled into the Kamui Dimension.
"Brother!"
Maki and Inumaki rounded the corner, weapons drawn. They saw Mirai standing alone in the alley.
"Where is he?" Maki shouted. "Where is Geto?"
Mirai turned around. The coldness in his eyes vanished, replaced by his usual gentle smile.
"It's alright," Mirai said. "Geto Suguru... is dead. I killed him."
Maki breathed a sigh of relief, slumping against the wall. "Good. That bastard almost killed us."
"Let's go. Yuta needs help."
...
The School Courtyard.
Yuta Okkotsu opened his eyes.
Maki, Panda, and Inumaki were hovering over him.
"Thank goodness," Yuta gasped. "You're all alright."
"Don't worry," Panda grinned. "Mirai-sensei healed us."
Yuta sat up. He looked at the massive Cursed Spirit hovering behind him.
"Rika..."
"Yuta! You were too reckless! Too reckless!" Rika wailed.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," Yuta whispered. "It's time."
Suddenly, Rika's monstrous body began to dissolve. Countless particles of golden light drifted into the air.
Underneath the monster... was the spirit of a young girl.
"Rika..." Yuta wept.
The Curse was broken. Rika Orimoto was free.
Mirai watched from the side, his eyes sparkling with hidden hunger.
The Queen of Curses.
Infinite Cursed Energy.
If I ate her now... my Gedo Mazo would evolve instantly.
Mirai clenched his fist inside his sleeve.
No. Not yet. It would ruin the plot. I need Yuta on my side for now.
Suppressing the urge to eat is truly agonizing.
Flash!
A figure teleported into the courtyard.
Gojo Satoru.
He looked at the ruins. He looked at the golden light fading into the sky.
He sensed the residuals. Suguru was here. He fought Yuta.
But there was another signature mixed in. A dark, spatial distortion.
Gojo walked up to Mirai.
"Zenin-sensei," Gojo said, his voice void of emotion. His blindfold was gone, revealing icy blue eyes.
"Can you tell me what happened?"
"Where is Suguru?"
Mirai smiled gently.
"It's nothing serious, Mr. Gojo."
"Don't worry about that troublemaker."
Mirai leaned in closer.
"I killed him."
Gojo froze.
