Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Creating a basic system

Well, master, if we want to talk about levels, there wouldn't be a complete system. As far as you know, there are many systems called

"cultivation" spread through innumerable worlds, infinite empty chaos, and so on. As we used to say, it doesn't really matter how it is labeled. Let's see...

We can talk about the most basic and classic ones that you know: the xianxia cultivation system from the Chinese culture of your world. Of course, most xianxia worlds are not entirely made up of Chinese masters, so you don't need to worry about being ostracized by the people there.

Only the human race in your world, which has enough to eat on a daily basis and does not need to worry about external threats, has the time to divide itself into countries and generate conflict across the entire human race. A unique saying from your previous world was...

[When humans have no external enemies, they become their own greatest enemies.]

The human race, not only in xianxia worlds but across all worlds where they are severely screwed, would not mind accepting a compatriot who can save the situation, even if he does not look like one of "ours"...

Well, in most worlds, when a race is on the verge of being decimated, people generally do not care about your color, ethnicity, or origin. If you can solve the problem, you are one of theirs. Of course, it is not ruled out that they may throw you away once the danger has passed, especially those in power....

But anyway, master, I think I caught your habit of lacking focus. We were talking about cultivation systems, and I ended up going off on a tangent.

Vicente: Hey, hey, hey, don't put me in the middle of this.

Eliel stuck out his tongue and continued to explain:

Apart from the classical world mentioned above, there are also worlds of magical swords and elves.

There are worlds where you refine a sword, and it increases in rank along with your strength, transforming the user's aptitude.

There are worlds where you make contracts with demon gods or outer gods in search of strength.

There are beast-taming worlds, where beasts increase their strength and provide feedback to their owners.

There are also summoning worlds, where people summon and form contracts with beings from other worlds in order to seek strength. Many systems are available.

So if we want to classify things, let's go with the good old, most basic system from your previous world.

The maximum level of strength in a world can be classified by these numbers, meaning that someone of that level has arrived in that world or was born within it.

The level of destructive power, even though it does not represent everything, already saves us from many problems. Let's see. We will divide it into nine levels. They may undergo changes. They are.....

(With a wave of his hand, a projection appeared, describing the scenes below.)

Level 0 transcendent human: strong, but can still fall to humanity's greatest modern weapon, nuclear bombs.

Level 1 state level: nuclear bombs are no longer effective at this stage. You must possess not only the destructive power to destroy a state within a country, but also speed. At this stage, the standard of life evolves in most methods.

Level 2 destruction of countries: has the ability to destroy a country with a slap. Superhuman speed is standard, and flight is possible. Of course, if you rely on a special method for flight, the destructive power still counts.

Level 3 surface level: referring to your ancient planet, Earth, my lord. At this level, you could easily destroy its surface, but you would still have difficulty surviving in the vacuum of space. Otherwise, simply aim at the Earth's core, and the planet would disappear.

Level 4 planetary level: destroying a planet the size of the Earth is effortless. At this level, just like the others, your level of life has evolved. If you do not worry about the loneliness of the cold space of the universe—

you can fly through space just like a planet.

The speed of light will certainly be achieved regardless of the method. If you cannot even reach the speed of light, you would be considered a slug.

Level 5 stellar level: destroying a star the size of the Sun from your old world with a single slap. Of course, you would need to worry about a supernova explosion, so I do not recommend doing that.

[In the image, a figure slaps the Sun, destroying it, only to be engulfed by the resulting supernova.]

Vicente: Because I feel like you're insinuating something. Although I would really like to hit the Sun if I had the ability—not for any particular reason, just the desire.

Level 6 galactic lord: at this level, you can refine, accommodate, or become one with the galaxy you desire. You also no longer need to worry about the destruction caused by supernovae of common stars. Of course, if it is the largest star ever recorded in your old world, Stephenson 2-18 (St2-18), then we can discuss it—but the best option would be to avoid that situation altogether.

Vicente: Indeed.

Level 7 multiple galaxies: understanding the laws of the universe and its rules, and using them to cultivate toward the next stage.

The difference between doing this in a single galaxy and doing it across multiple galaxies does not even need explanation.

Level 8 single universe: at this level, you become one with a single universe. You can destroy, build, or remodel all the laws that govern it according to your will.

Although creating a universe in the ideal sense is difficult, if you are willing to sacrifice yourself to trigger a Big Bang and recreate it, the process becomes easier.

Level 9 multiverse: many powerful characters you once thought were incredible existed at this level, so I do not need further explanation. Creating universes is extremely easy at this stage. To put it in an easy-to-understand way, think of it like this.

(Eliel shows a projection.)

In the projection, it was like a large box of sand. A hand reached in and picked up several grains.

As the view zoomed in, their true forms were revealed—each grain was a complete world, a universe of its own with different timelines.

Yet, in the hand of this illusory being, they were nothing more than grains of sand. With a snap of its fingers, even more grains condensed into existence.

Vicente: Tsk, tsk, tsk… at this level, are points still useful?

Ellie: Yes, master, but the universes you create cannot generate points, since you created them yourself. However, the creatures within them can travel to other universes and collect points for you, as long as it is not your own universe

This is one of the few limitations on obtaining points. Since the destination, the origin of creation, and everything else lie in the hands of the creator, it would not make sense for us to gain points from worlds that you created yourself.

And obviously, the number of points at this stage is enormous. You must expand the scale, like in that book you read where the protagonist gained life points in the final stages—the numbers were astronomical, yet the system still worked.

In fact, I think you already know that destructive force is not always the main focus when measuring someone's strength. Laws, rules, concepts, and similar factors can drastically alter one's power, making it difficult to calculate it precisely.

Vicente: I more or less understand the concept.

So that's it for now. We can change it once I've actually reached that stage. For now, how do we invite new people? There's no way to say it's purely random, right?

Ellie was silent for a moment…..

Vicente: There is no way, for sure...

Vicente: We are screwed, depending entirely on luck in this place. We do not even know when—or if—we will find a suitable world. (Sigh)…

Vicente: So, Ellie, from what I understand, we both have no money—no points—in our pockets, only old knowledge stored within the memories of the old spirit.

Ellie sighed. Originally, it was not like this. We had the ability to choose who would enter, the genre type, and the style of the world. But now, we are truly at zero.

It is already a miracle that we still retain our previous functions. If we had anything more, I would think that, aside from losing points, we had not lost much at all.

Vicente: There is nothing we can do. At least I do not need to worry about starving in this space.

Still, so I do not feel embarrassed when potential visitors arrive, try to imitate a cozy modern environment.

Simulate a fake sun, a blue sky, day and night, and make it as welcoming as possible.

Ellie: Okay, that's easy, master. According to your memories, I will make it as welcoming as possible.

The previously completely white environment quickly took on modern tones. A television, a sofa, a bedroom—it looked like an ordinary modern house, albeit with a touch of luxury.

Perfectly simulating a modern environment without visible magical effects was extremely easy.

Outside, grass could be seen, and the warmth of the sun could be felt. The only pity was that this world was, theoretically, fake.

Vicente sat on the sofa and stared at the television, lost in thought. He wondered how everyone who had known him was doing at that moment.

Were they worried? Looking for him? But he doubted they would keep calling after he had been gone for so long.

Vicente: Ellie, tell me—how do you think my family, my friends, and my pets are doing right now?

Ellie: So, master, I do not think anyone remembers you.

At the moment when the old artifact spirit intended to choose a new master, it erased all traces of your existence from your parent world's universe.

Even though that world was strange, it only wanted to collect someone and teach them the correct path this time, so as not to repeat the fate of the previous owner.

So, if it succeeded, then there has never been a Vicente Gabriel in that world.

It was so authoritarian that it literally erased the name Vicente Gabriel from the planet's history.

Technically, you were the only one who ever bore that name. If you were to return there—of course, you cannot do so now.

Of course, this only occurs within that universe. Once you leave it, the influence dissipates.

It is more like a blanket covering reality—people who might have had that name simply changed it, and so on.

Upon hearing this answer, Vicente remained silent, lost in thought. He did not know what he was supposed to feel now. Happiness?

Perhaps it was calmer now that he knew he had nothing—and no one—left to worry about.

All he needed to do was improve his strength as quickly as possible by raising the store's rating, and then bring his loved ones and pets into the store so they could potentially evolve and follow him, if they wished.

With those thoughts, he rested. The events of less than one hour had been more exciting than his entire nineteen years of life.

As soon as he relaxed, he fell asleep. It felt like the most comforting sleep he had experienced in years.

Eliel flew over and settled into his arms.

Ellie: Good evening, master...

Author's announcement

Well, fellow readers who made it this far, I just want to say that my English knowledge is very limited and quite basic. I can only instinctively recognize and differentiate some words. Because of that, I use AI to help correct certain grammatical and spelling mistakes. The announcement in the previous chapter was originally meant for Brazilian readers, but I ended up translating it thinking it would be fine.

Anyway, if you don't like the English translation (maybe people like that don't even exist, but I just want to make it clear), the idea is still mine. The AI does not create the story, and the writing in Portuguese will always remain mine.

The real difficulty is making sure the reading experience of foreign readers is not affected. I have to review everything the AI sends me to be sure it didn't remove or alter any content. This is one of the annoying parts of using AI. (sigh)

Anyway, if you keep reading, I hope you enjoy the worlds I've created. And if you have recommendations for worlds to visit or "show" in the future, I'm all ears. I almost always read the comments—especially now that I'm still mostly unknown—so feel free to speak up. You're all very welcome.

(Ellie waves goodbye.) 👋
