Chapter 14 - The Tall Young Girl

Unlike Yuan Huihong, Jiang Hai didn't rush straight toward the teaching building. Among the three of them, Jiang Hai still acted as the strategist.

At this moment, his brain cells were burning like crazy, trying to figure out the cause of the situation.

Lu Yang's personality had always been bright and lively, leaving no hint otherwise when interacting with them.

The only exception was that last time, when Lu Yang fell off his bike and got injured, he had been completely indifferent to it.

Perhaps sitting in his wheelchair recovering from injuries, step by step, Lu Yang's mind had been infiltrated, eventually sinking into darkness.

It had to be this way!

Sure enough—a beauty brings disaster...

Jiang Hai slapped his thigh in anger and frustration and quickly decided to rush toward Ye Kener's classroom.

On the rooftop of the teaching building, Lu Yang didn't notice the chaos in the practice field below. At this moment, his feet were already planted on the railing. The summer wind blew through his hair, the sunlight warming his body.

To his left stretched seven stories of open air; to his right, the rooftop itself. He inhaled deeply, his mind calm. After days of grueling training on parallel bars, his body had gained a strength few could match, and he could now maneuver with precision without worrying about the world below.

Lu Yang stretched out his arms, maintaining balance, and took his first step.

[ Physical Mission: Walked 1 meter along the railing. ]

Step by step, the mission counter gradually rose.

On the railing, Lu Yang entered a state of total focus. He forgot the void to his left, forgot the steps he had climbed—his mind only held the railing beneath his feet. The sunlight shone on him, casting a shadow on the rooftop, while a few sparrows circled around, chirping like a scene from an anime.

Until a sudden shout echoed across the rooftop:

"Lu Yang! What are you doing?"

Rushing onto the rooftop, Yuan Huihong saw Lu Yang standing on the railing and almost fainted from fright. Lu Yang only slightly tilted his eyes. He hadn't expected Yuan Huihong to suddenly appear here.

Yuan Huihong was the first to rush up; behind him, a number of people followed—students and even teachers. Clearly, the rooftop situation wasn't a secret just to the practice field; the teaching building occupants also knew.

Lu Yang didn't get distracted by the commotion. He continued carefully along the railing.

Walked 53 meters.

Walked 54 meters…

As long as he completed the mission, he could jump down from the railing.

"What are you doing? Lawless student! Get down!" Yan Gao, the head disciplinarian, had just arrived on the rooftop battlefield.

Seeing a student on the railing, his first reaction was anger; this was touching on a student's safety.

Lu Yang, fully focused on walking the railing, ignored Yan Gao. Of course, Yan Gao couldn't just stand by; he strode toward Lu Yang on the railing.

A sudden gust of wind shook Lu Yang's body. Everyone on the rooftop was startled, some girls even covering their eyes in fright. Even the fierce Yan Gao was scared, stopping in his tracks.

Yuan Huihong clutched Yan Gao tightly, afraid he would continue to provoke Lu Yang and cause him to fall.

Lu Yang, however, remained calm. The wind passed quickly, and he stabilized his body. Taking advantage of the moment, the people on the rooftop dared not act rashly.

He continued along the railing.

Walked 75 meters.

Walked 76 meters.

The railing wasn't even 100 meters long—more like 80—Lu Yang had already reached the end. Seeing this, the crowd below began buzzing, expecting him to jump down from the railing.

Of course, they were expecting him to jump toward the rooftop, not sideways.

"He's probably going to jump," Yan Gao thought.

But when Lu Yang reached the end, he stopped moving. Everyone on the rooftop exhaled in relief.

Yan Gao showed a cold smile, planning how to punish this student later. To dare do this on a school rooftop was basically asking for trouble.

But then… Lu Yang turned around and continued along the railing.

Once wasn't enough? He was going to do it twice? Did he think this was his living room? Was this a performance now?

Yan Gao's face twisted with fury. The others on the rooftop could only watch in astonishment.

"Make way! Make way!" Jiang Hai's voice rang out as he pushed people aside to clear a path.

Behind Jiang Hai was a young girl.

She was over 1.7 meters tall, her posture commanding. During the gym class, she wore short black athletic shorts, revealing long, smooth legs brimming with youthful energy. Her beautiful face furrowed in concentration as she looked at Lu Yang on the railing, her eyes full of surprise.

"Huh, you finally made it. How did it take you so long?" Yuan Huihong exclaimed, seeing Jiang Hai arrive with the girl.

"I brought her along," Jiang Hai said, pointing behind him.

Yuan Huihong immediately understood.

"Just go slowly; we'll follow behind you," Jiang Hai instructed the girl.

She didn't respond, just nodded and stepped onto the railing path, walking steadily along it.

"Lu Yang, why don't you come down? Isn't it better to sit and talk?" The girl's voice reached him, but Lu Yang's attention was completely focused on the railing.

Besides, in his fragmented memories, he had no recollection of this girl at all.

Walked 82 meters.

Walked 83 meters.

The mission counter approached 100, and Lu Yang's focus remained unbroken.

The closer he got to completing the task, the more he could not afford to relax.

A single lapse could lead to failure.

"Lu Yang, listen to me. First, come down—don't just stand there!"

The girl was getting closer and closer. The people behind her, including Jiang Hai and Yuan Huihong, were clearly trying to stop Lu Yang from completing the railing walk, intending to pull him down once he neared the end.

Walked 89 meters.

Walked 90 meters.

The distance to 100 grew smaller, and Lu Yang felt a flicker of unease.

Glancing sideways, he saw the girl was already very close, and the crowd behind her clearly intended to interfere.

If she tried to stop him before he finished, he might fail and die.
