Synopsis
"I am Batman. My name is Ren Ichimonji, not Bruce Wayne, and I am in Beika Town. However, the System told me that I am Bruce Wayne, I am in Gotham City, and it will reward me for fighting super-villains and maintaining public order as Batman." "I said, 'Fine.'" Kaito Kid: "The Riddler? Me? Isn't that a bit hurtful to say to me?" Conan: "Can you stop standing there acting all cool with that damn coffee cup? Every time I ask you what's going on, you just say, 'I'm Batman'?" Makoto Kusakabe: "Wait, brother, I went undercover to collect intelligence myself—how did I end up being 'Two-Face'? Where are your manners?" Gin: "What do you mean, Joker? Why are you looking at me?"

Chapter 1 - BWDC:SDDK Chapter 1: Riddler, Get Out of Gotham!

BWDC:SDDK Chapter 1: Riddler, Get Out of Gotham!

On April 19th, the Suzuki Financial Group is set to host its 60th-anniversary shipboard party aboard the Queen Selizabeth. According to the riddle provided, the Riddler is expected to descend from the sky and steal a precious gemstone.

Fortunately, the Riddler's nemesis, Batman, will also be attending the banquet today—

"I'm sorry, sir, but Mrs. Suzuki has stipulated that all attendees for this banquet must wear formal attire..."

Oh, it seems the great Batman has encountered a slight problem.

"Uh, what counts as formal attire?"

The plainly dressed young man asked helplessly.

His name is Ren Ichimonji, a transmigrator, the system-appointed Batman, and an ordinary citizen of Beika.

Originally, according to the system, he was supposed to transmigrate to Gotham City and become the billionaire Bruce Wayne. Under the system's guidance, he would have become Batman. However, there was a slight error in the calculations.

He transmigrated to the wrong world.

This is Beika, not Gotham.

He isn't the billionaire Bruce Wayne; he is just Ren Ichimonji, an average citizen who used the system's "Newbie Gift Pack" to acquire language proficiency and a residency permit.

"Uh, at the very least, you need a tie..."

The waiter chose his words carefully, speaking as tactfully as possible—

"Oh, I have a tie. Hold my coffee for a second, thanks."

Without changing his expression, Ren Ichimonji pulled a tie out of his pocket and tied it around his collar. He then took back the special cup of coffee from the waiter's hand.

Under the waiter's silent gaze, Ren Ichimonji walked onto the deck of the Queen Selizabeth with a calm demeanor and quickly disappeared from sight.

"What an odd fellow..."

The waiter muttered under his breath.

But his attention was immediately diverted by the arrival of the famous detective, Kogoro Mouri, along with his beloved daughter, Ran Mouri, and the rest of their party.

The waiter hurried forward to greet them, unaware that the "odd fellow" who had entered earlier was currently standing at the edge of the deck, observing the situation.

"Kaito Kid will first enter the Queen Selizabeth disguised as Shiro Suzuki, then use Ran Mouri's identity to get close to Tomoko Suzuki and steal the Black Star..."

"To complete the mission and get the reward, the best way is to have a chat with Kaito Kid after he replaces Ran Mouri."

Ren Ichimonji glanced around. Seeing that no one was approaching, he took a sip of his coffee.

Immediately, a warm current flowed through his body, making his spirit feel more invigorated—this was the final item from his Newbie Gift Pack trio.

A supernatural item.

Drinking the coffee from this cup restores physical and mental stamina once per day. When downed in one gulp, it grants one minute of Batman's combat and cognitive abilities. Any coffee consumed from the cup will automatically refill to the brim after one minute.

However, there was one drawback...

[Note: Hey, want to know my secret identity? I'm Batman!]

Ren Ichimonji only realized this after suffering for it once.

While the effect is active, if another woman appears nearby, the first part of that voice line will automatically trigger.

Furthermore, if anyone asks questions like "How do you know?" or "Why are you doing this?", he will automatically answer: "Because I'm Batman."

If he were in Gotham City, Ren Ichimonji's physical stats would have guaranteed him a funeral by now. Fortunately, in Beika, it wasn't a big deal.

This world has Batman comics.

"The system said this coffee cup was a tool used by a famous Batman... but which Batman says that kind of stuff whenever he sees a beautiful woman?"

Ren Ichimonji took another sip of coffee and muttered quietly. With a thought, he pulled up the system's mission interface to confirm the details once more.

[Mission: Riddler, Get Out of Gotham!]

[The evil Riddler has once again dropped one of his agonizing riddles and begun a new wicked plan. As Batman, it is your duty to solve all his riddles to his face and stop his criminal scheme!]

[Reward: Batman's 6-Slot Utility Belt, Unlock System Store!]

[Note: Riddler Out!]

When he first saw the name "Riddler," Ren Ichimonji thought he had been sent to some bizarre Dark Multiverse.

After being on high alert for half a day, he suddenly realized the mission trigger seemed to be a newspaper headline. He took a look at the content.

Wow, a heist notice from Kaito Kid!

So the "Riddler" in the mission referred to "Kaito Kid"! This city full of Japanese was indeed Beika City, not Gotham City!

While Ren Ichimonji felt that calling Kaito Kid a "Riddler" wasn't quite right, the more he thought about it, the more it made sense... After all, Kaito Kid really does speak in riddles every day. It was a well-deserved nickname.

Now that he was certain the "Riddler" was Kaito Kid, it was time to take action.

Dealing with the actual Riddler was risky, but dealing with Kaito Kid was not. Besides, Kaito Kid's operation this time was destined to fail anyway.

He only needed to find Kaito Kid, explain the solution to the April Fool's riddle, and then wait for Kaito Kid to be scared into jumping into the sea by his "cousin" with a soccer ball.

Simple and easy.

Moreover, this was a perfect opportunity to get in touch with Conan and use him to complete "Gotham City Routine Security Missions" to earn points.

With those points, he could buy new items from the unlocked system store, earn more money, and live a better life in Beika. It was a win-win situation.

"For the sake of my happy life, Kaito Kid, you'll just have to suffer a bit this time. My apologies."

Ren Ichimonji whispered.

At that moment, Kaito Kid—who had already disguised himself as Shiro Suzuki and was on his way to the Queen Selizabeth—felt a sudden chill. His sixth sense told him something was not quite right.

He couldn't help but frown, feeling slightly puzzled.

"Strange. My preparations should be complete. Why do I feel inexplicably uneasy?"

Kuroba Kaito, acting as Kaito Kid, suddenly remembered his conversation with Akako Koizumi before school ended—the girl who always claimed she could use magic.

The ever-mysterious Akako had once again stated that her divination results were unfavorable for Kaito Kid. She said something about Batman dealing him a heavy blow if he continued with his plan...

Akako's prophecies were usually far-fetched, but now she was bringing up Batman. It felt like she had run out of ideas and was just making things up.

Batman? Is Batman going to jump out of a comic book and punch me?

"It was one thing when she talked about the 'Magician of Light' last time, but now it's Batman? Has her imagination regressed so much she has to use existing fictional characters? What era is she living in, saying such nonsense..."

Kuroba Kaito kept his eyes on the road ahead.

He was one of the world's top magicians. He had seen too many things claimed to be "magic" that were actually just tricks disguised by stagecraft and psychological techniques. Therefore, he had zero faith in these magical prophecies!

"If there really is a Batman, then let him jump out of the comics and give me a punch."
