Chapter 13 - CHAPTER 13: Money

KAYLA'S POV:

As I entered the classroom, I noticed my classmates gathered together. They looked tense and worried, exchanging uneasy glances, unsure of what to do.

"What happened?"

Mia spoke up.

"The money we collected from the whole class for the last exam party at the steakhouse is gone."

"What?! Who did it? When did this happen?"

"I locked it in my locker," she said, her voice shaking. "But when I came this morning, the lock was broken and the money was gone."

I clenched my fists. I already knew who did it.

I stormed out of the classroom, my classmates following me. I stopped in front of Section A, our rival section. Good for nothing trash.

"Tash! Atasha! Come out here before I drag you out by your hair!"

Atasha stepped out.

"Shut up, bitch. I'm not deaf. I can hear you!"

"Oh really? You're not deaf?" I smirked. "But you must be blind, blind with greed. That's why you stole our class money."

"Excuse me?! Why would I do that?"

"Why not? You love making our lives miserable. But you still don't know who I am, do you?"

"Oh really? I don't?" She stepped closer, her eyes full of fake confidence. "I know exactly who you are, Kayla. Your classmates don't, but I do. You're a bitch. An evil bitch who gets whatever she wants by manipulating people."

That hit a nerve.

I grabbed her hair and slapped her again and again, and that's when the fight broke out.

Theo rushed in, pulling us apart. Her coward boyfriend finally stepped in too, after watching from the sidelines.

"Give our money back," I snarled. "Before I make you pay for it."

"Don't let these dirtbags into our class!" she shouted.

"Oh really?" I scoffed. "Watch and learn."

I shoved my way through, checking every bag, every locker, throwing things aside, but the money wasn't there.

That's when a teacher arrived.

"What's going on here?!"

Atasha immediately played the victim, as always.

"Kayla is creating a mess and bullying us!"

"She stole our class money!" I snapped. "Give it back!"

I stepped forward, but the teacher moved between us.

"Kayla! Go back to your class. All of you, go back to your classes. We'll deal with this later. And Kayla, Atasha, this is a school. Keep your personal fights outside."

We all returned to our classrooms.

---

After lunch, the principal asked me to get ready for my first photoshoot for the school magazine.

I grabbed my clothes from my locker and went to the girls' changing room. I placed them on a nearby bench and took a quick shower to freshen up after fighting that douchebag.

When I came out, only a towel wrapped around my body, my clothes were gone.

My eyes widened, but honestly, I wasn't surprised.

I expected those worthless brats to try ruining my photoshoot.

Now I was stuck, no clothes, only a towel. My phone was still in my bag back in class, so I couldn't text anyone.

I peeked through the door into the corridor.

"Hello? Is someone there?"

A boy appeared. He immediately turned away, clearly flustered, trying not to look at me.

I quickly explained everything. A few minutes later, he returned with his P.T. clothes.

I changed as fast as I could and stepped outside, then froze.

It was him.

Hari.

I was too shocked to process anything.

"I… th...thank you… for this," I stammered. "I'll return it as soon as possible. Thank you so much."

And then I ran away.

Wondering how it feels when your crush sees you at your most helpless.
