Faye Vaughn and Finn Hawthorne walked into the house and were immediately surrounded by a dozen burly men.
"Stop!"
The lead kidnapper barked.
"You wanted me to come in person. I'm here."
Finn Hawthorne's expression was placid, his demeanor calm. "Let her go. I'll stay."
The kidnapper sneered, "President Hawthorne, ever the playboy. Even in a crisis, you have to bring a woman along."
Finn Hawthorne ignored his taunt and said coldly, "Five billion in cash will be delivered in an hour. Let Vivian Windsor go first, or there's nothing to discuss."
Two of the kidnapper's underlings dragged Vivian Windsor out from an inner room.
Vivian Windsor's clothes were tidy, just a little dirty.
They were probably smudged from being held in the dilapidated room.
When she saw Finn Hawthorne, tears welled up in her eyes. "Finn… you're finally here. I was so afraid I'd never see you again."
Finn Hawthorne comforted her in a low voice, "Don't be afraid. It'll be okay."
