Ava's Pov:
The next morning was a blur. Thankfully I tried to sleep earlier than I usually did so the hours of twisting and turning didn't affect me.
I didn't want to get out of bed but I had to try. I sat up on my bed trying to prepare myself for another day of Leon Presscots life.
Eventually, I stood up to shower and get dressed. I pretended to do skincare while constantly looking out the window to see if he'd just magically appear. I knew it was a 50/50 chance of him showing up but I was clinging onto hope that he was safe.
Pearl knocked on my door then to tell me it was time to eat.
"I know where the kitchen is."
"Yes you do but willingly going there isn't guaranteed."
I sarcastically rolled my eyes. "I'll be down in a minute."
She left and I went back to sulking. Then, my phone rang.
I recognized that unknown number.
"Max."
"It sounds like you were waiting for my call."
"If you want Leon, he's not here and I don't know where he is."
