Right now we were outside on some sort of makeshift open arena. On the side was Misery, Rain and Velzard watching. Looking at the palace, you could make out a white haired figure resting against a newly carved out 'window' while watching down at the two figures in the arena. And where was I, well I was one of the figures in the arena, with the opposite figure from me being Guy.
"Question, is it still too late for me to say no?" I asked with mock seriousness.
Guy was simply amused, "don't worry, you won't die and if you're going to be my student then I need to know what I'm working with."
"I'm a 3 day old otherworlder, it's easy to know what you're working with." I said.
"You shown in the first two days that you have shown abnormal levels of power for your standard. And for the record, it's 8-day otherworlder." Said Guy from opposite me.
"…What do you mean 8 days?"
"Collapsing from Mana depletion isn't something that is recovered from overnight."
I immediately got the message he was trying to send, "Awww. Fine, no point in wailing about it. So when does this star-" goosebumps immediately activated 'thought acceleration' as I saw a punch nearing my face
I immediately reacted and raised my arm to block, which sent me flying. I stabilized myself and using 'thought acceleration' and 'parallel processing'.
I conjured multiple images in my head and surrounded my hand in a extremely condensed drill made of wind. I punched forward, firing the drill at my foe in which Guy decided to just tank it.
After the explosion of wind and the snow cleared, I saw Guy standing there unfazed and smiling, 'Jeez, I knew he wouldn't be affected but does he have to aura farm?' I thought in my head.
'I decided what I'm gonna do.' I thought with determination. Guy came at me with immense speed in which I snapped my fingers which immediately caused an explosion right in-between us. The explosion sent us both flying backwards, disrupted and blinded those watching us, nearly destroyed the palace if not for Dino actually doing something and disrupted the sheering blizzard surrounding us.
Guy said in an impressed voice, "Not bad, I didn't even see that coming." Well I doubt you would know what happens when fission occurs.
I knew that wouldn't kill him, I just needed the smoke to give me time, I created an array of lighting orbs to automatically attack from different sides, the orbs would buy me some time.
I immediately began using 'Visionary' to construct a weapon, I begin forging multiple pieces of metal, folding, contorting and snapping them together as fast as possible.
Guy dispelled the magic I had used on him and immediately locked onto my position in the clouds of smoke, "found you." He pounced onto me and out of the smoke, but when he saw what I was holding and pointing at him, his eyes went wide.
What I was holding was a two-handed railgun with a missile-like tungsten projectile inside, I used lightning and fire magic to fire the machine. "Take this bitch!"
The projectile shot at Guy and thrusted him straight through the blizzard and out of sight.
The blast from the railgun cleared up a lot of the smoke which caused the watchers to finally see what have happend, I was holding a broken and scorched railgun and the ground Infront of me lead a scorched path that the snow was quickly covering up.
But what surprised them most was…
There was no sign of Guy.
And immediately there he was, launching a punch at me which I couldn't move my body to dodge, so instead, I nullified the mass of his fist and thus the force it generated, which hit me like a pillow.
"It seems like your attacks can't do sh- ACK!!!!"
--------30 minutes later--------
At the same table that I was happily agreeing to be Guy's student, I was now regretting being Guy's student
"That last punch was just plain rude." I said to Guy in annoyance.
"Well you did nearly destroy my place of living aswell as my physical body. I was almost sent back to the Daemon realm. I think you got what you deserved." Guy said
My annoyance cleared up slightly at his word. "I'm gonna take that as a compliment."
Guy looked at me with serious thoughts," I have an inquiry. That weapon?"
"It's an weapon from my old world that never left the experimental phase. I myself need to make improvements so that it doesn't blow itself into ash." I said in contemplation.
"Incredibly powerful but what I wanted to know was where you got it?"
"I made it."
"When?"
"Right after I threw lightning at you."
"…"
"Are you saying that you improvised a weapon that almost blew my body apart in less than a minute?"
I looked at the redhead with exasperation. "What do you mean? I've only had 3 days of consciousness in this world, everything I threw at you was improvised."
"..." The entire room went silent, Rain and Misery looked at me with wide eyes, Dino's jaw dropped and Velzard and Guy just had impressed smiles.
I looked around the room in fear, I felt like a zebra thrown into the lions den.
Before I could ask why everyone was looking at me, Guy's voice came, "Are you implying that you used magic attacks that you created on the spot?"
"Uh…yes."
"You are quite impressive Simon, being able to formulate several magic fomulas in seconds."
"Huh… Thanks…I guess."
Guy had realized that teaching this prodigy might be easy. Although he would never anticipate how much change this little student of his would bring.
He would also never anticipate how much headaches he would bring to him.
