Chapter 70 - Episode 70 – The Collapse Point

🚆 Love Train in Facebook Station

08:46 PM – Club Interior (Core Floor)

The music didn't just play anymore—

It pressed.

Low frequencies vibrating through the floor, climbing up the spine, settling behind the eyes.

At the center—

Srikant held Sasmita steady.

Her breathing—uneven.

Her gaze—shifting.

Warm… then empty.

Present… then distant.

System vs Self

"Step back," she repeated.

Voice colder now.

Cleaner.

Like something filtering her words.

Srikant didn't move.

"Not happening."

For a second—

The world around them blurred.

Not visually.

But mentally.

The Surge

A sharp tone cut through the air.

Not loud—

But precise.

Targeted.

Sasmita's body went rigid.

Her fingers tightened on his arm.

Inside her mind—

Fragments ignited.

Corridors.

White rooms.

Voices.

Numbers.

"Subject S-17 responding…"

"Memory seal intact…"

"Trigger sequence pending…"

External Reality

Rudra forced his way through the crowd.

Rudra Sen grabbed Srikant's shoulder—

"They're overloading her neural response! We need to get her out—now!"

Srikant didn't look away from her.

"If we pull her now, we lose whatever she's fighting."

Rudra snapped—

"If we don't, we lose her completely!"

The Split

Sasmita suddenly pushed Srikant back.

Not hard—

But deliberate.

Her posture changed.

Balanced.

Precise.

"Interference detected," she said.

Flat.

Rudra froze.

"That's not her…"

Target Lock

Her eyes focused—

Directly on Srikant.

"Primary variable… unstable."

Srikant's jaw clenched.

"Stop calling me that."

The Collapse Begins

The music peaked—

Then distorted.

Lights flickered erratically.

People around them continued dancing.

Unaware.

Untouched.

Because this—

Wasn't for them.

Internal War

Sasmita stepped forward.

One step.

Then another.

Controlled.

Measured.

"I must complete the sequence," she said.

Srikant shook his head.

"No. You don't."

She paused.

For half a second.

Then whispered—

"I… don't… remember why."

That's the Crack

Rudra leaned closer—

"She's losing alignment. This is the window!"

Srikant moved in.

Closing the distance again.

Grounding Attempt

He held her face gently.

Forcing eye contact.

"Forget the sequence."

"Look at me."

Her pupils shifted.

Focus trying to stabilize.

"Who am I?" he asked.

Silence.

Then—

"You are…" she began.

Voice glitching.

Memory Conflict

Inside her mind—

Two answers collided.

"Target."

"Srikant."

Her breathing spiked.

Hands trembling.

"I… can't… separate…" she whispered.

External Interference

Above—

Sovereign watched closely.

"Signal loss increasing,"

Meera Vashisht reported.

Sovereign's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Push it further."

Overload

A sudden high-frequency pulse hit.

Stronger than before.

Srikant flinched.

Rudra staggered slightly.

Sasmita—

Screamed.

Not loud.

But raw.

Collapse

She dropped to her knees.

Hands clutching her head.

"Make it stop…" she whispered.

Srikant knelt in front of her instantly.

"I'm here."

Final Decision

Rudra shouted—

"We don't have time! Extraction—now!"

Srikant hesitated.

One second.

Then made the call.

"Move."

Escape

Rudra activated a localized EMP pulse.

Lights in that section died instantly.

Music cut.

Darkness swallowed everything.

Panic started in the crowd.

For the first time—

Real chaos.

Srikant lifted Sasmita.

She barely resisted.

They moved fast.

Through side exits.

Hidden corridors.

Behind Them

Security units activated.

Not police.

Not staff.

Axis.

Narrow Exit

They reached the back service door.

Rudra forced it open.

Cold air hit instantly.

They were out.

Aftermath

09:12 PM – Outside Perimeter

They stopped only when distance felt enough.

Srikant placed Sasmita down carefully.

She was conscious—

But weak.

Her eyes slowly focused on him.

"Did I… hurt you?" she asked softly.

Srikant shook his head.

"No."

She exhaled.

Relief.

Then whispered—

"I heard them…"

Rudra leaned in—

"What did you hear?"

She closed her eyes briefly.

Trying to recall.

"Subject…" she said slowly.

"Seventeen…"

Silence.

The First Real Clue

Rudra's expression changed instantly.

"That's not random."

Srikant looked at him.

"You know something?"

Rudra hesitated.

Then said—

"I've seen that designation before…"

Final Scene

Far away—

Sovereign stood still.

Watching the empty feed.

"They escaped," Meera said.

Sovereign nodded.

"Good."

She frowned slightly.

"Good?"

He turned toward her.

"Because now…"

Pause.

"They've taken the bait."
