Kaiba's eyes went wide. "Is Yugi insane? He's just handing Osiris more attack power for free!"
Kisaragi didn't flinch. "It's a calculated gamble. If he plays it safe, Marik's next turn will snowball—Osiris will reach an attack threshold where Yugi's field collapses. So instead of waiting to die, he's forcing a decisive turn now."
Marik's grin split wider.
"Thank you, Yugi. With my hand now at six—Osiris the Sky Dragon becomes 6000!"

Yami Yugi's gaze sharpened like a blade.
"Marik… didn't you say it was impossible for me to defeat a god?"
"Of course. Neither you nor Kisaragi Aoi can do it." Marik even flicked his eyes toward Kisaragi as he spoke.
"Then watch closely. I'll show you what it means for a mortal to slay a god."
Step 1: Strip the 'protection layer'
"I activate Dark Magic Attack! As long as I control Dark Magician, I destroy all Spell and Trap cards you control!"
Dark Magician raised his staff—Marik's backrow detonated in a chain of explosions.
Marik scoffed. "So what? 6000 ATK Osiris isn't something you can 'remove' with tricks."
Yami Yugi's mouth curled. "Is that so?"
Step 2: Turn a 'level gap' into a weapon
"I activate Level Master! I send Kuriboh from my hand to the Graveyard—then choose a face-up monster I control. Its Level becomes the Level of the monster sent."
"I choose Dark Magician. Kuriboh is Level 1—so Dark Magician becomes Level 1 this turn!"
Marik frowned. "Changing level doesn't change reality."
Kisaragi's lips lifted slightly. "It does, if the next card is what I think it is."
Kaiba snapped his eyes to her, but she didn't elaborate—only watched, certain.
Step 3: The 'anti-god' kill card
Yami Yugi slid a card into his Duel Disk.
"I activate Equip Spell Jewels of the Reversal! This card can be equipped only to a Normal Monster. When the equipped monster battles a monster with a higher Level, it gains ATK during damage calculation equal to (Level difference × 500)!"
"Dark Magician is Level 1. Osiris is Level 10. The difference is 9—so Dark Magician gains 4500 ATK!"

"What—7000?!" Kaiba and Marik both went rigid.
Battle: God falls
"Battle! I discard one card to satisfy Toll Surcharge—and Dark Magician attacks Osiris! Dark Magic!"
A column of darkness punched through the storm. Osiris shattered—its massive body breaking apart like glass in a hurricane.
Marik LP 2200 → 1200
Marik's voice went hollow. "No… a god… destroyed? Impossible…"
Yami Yugi didn't pause.
"I discard one more card—Arcana Knight Joker attacks Revival Jam!"
Marik LP 1200 → 0
Yami Yugi wins.
The puppet body dropped to its knees, forced into the shape of defeat.
Aftermath: The real threat was never the duel
Somewhere out at sea, the real Marik roared in fury—then immediately turned cold, issuing orders to Odion (Rishid): the surveillance on Yugi's friends was already in place, waiting for his command.
Mokuba rushed to the puppet, retrieved the Puzzle Card and the God Card, and handed them to Yugi.
"So… this is the first key to my lost memories—Osiris the Sky Dragon…" Yami Yugi murmured.
Kaiba stepped forward, competitive fire returning the instant the card hit Yugi's hand.
"Yugi. If you can defeat a god, you're worthy. In Duel City, if duelists face each other—that place becomes the battlefield." He raised his Duel Disk. "Duel me."
Yugi almost accepted—until the puppet stood again.
Marik's voice returned through it, smug and venomous: he wasn't worried about losing the God Card here, because his "other plan" was already moving—using Rare Hunters to pressure Yugi by targeting Jounouchi and the others. "If you don't hurry back… something irreversible may happen."
The puppet collapsed.
Yugi spun and ran. "Jounouchi—everyone!"
Kaiba moved to stop him—then Kisaragi grabbed his arm and shook her head.
"Let him go. If you beat him right now and take the God Card, it won't feel like a real victory."
Kaiba's expression tightened… then he relented.
"Fine. I'll crush him in the finals."
Kisaragi nodded. "Then we go too. You don't want your tournament turning into a hostage incident."
Kaiba's eyes hardened. "Let's move."
