Asuma Sarutobi walked toward the Hokage Office with one hand in his pocket and a cigarette hanging from his mouth while leading Team Ten behind him.
When he saw Renji walking out of the office, he smiled and greeted him, "Renji?"
"Asuma, is that you," Renji replied as he glanced at Asuma Sarutobi and Team Ten without much interest.
Right now he only wanted to find that stupid cat quickly, take the reward money, and go drink with a sexy woman.
"I'm quite surprised you're a team leader," Asuma Sarutobi said as he took a puff of his cigarette and exhaled smoke, then glanced at Team 7 and asked curiously.
"I heard Team 7 hasn't taken any missions yet. What have you been doing these past few days?"
He had been surprised when he first heard Renji was assigned to lead Team 7.
With Renji's willful personality, he actually accepted responsibility for a Genin team?
Then he heard Team 7 had not completed a single mission yet, which made him worried about them.
Mission completion rates affected future Chunin promotions.
For example, Team Ten had already completed five D-rank missions.
But Team 7 had not completed any yet, so they would likely fall behind other Genin teams.
However, with Renji's personality, how could he possibly accept D-rank missions like finding cats and dogs?
It was truly unfortunate for Team 7 to be assigned such a willful teacher.
Alas.
"We didn't do much," Renji said deliberately as he brought up Kurenai Yuhi.
He raised a finger and smiled playfully as he continued, "I teased Kurenai, drank with Kurenai, that's about it."
He said it on purpose.
Although Kurenai Yuhi had been forced to drink with Renji, that was still the truth.
And he deliberately mentioned it because he knew Asuma Sarutobi had liked Kurenai Yuhi since childhood.
Even after being rejected many times, Asuma still had not given up.
To put it nicely, he was devoted.
To put it bluntly, he was a simp.
"Uh..." Asuma Sarutobi's smile stiffened as he scratched his head awkwardly and forced a laugh, "Hahaha, really? That's... pretty good."

He had always considered Renji a powerful rival in love, even though it was entirely his own assumption.
Renji did not care at all. Regardless of Kurenai Yuhi's resistance or attitude, he would simply hug her and drink with her first, then worry about everything else later.
Kurenai Yuhi's resistance was meaningless because the difference in strength between them was too large.
Meanwhile, he himself carefully pursued her by bringing flowers and lunch almost every day.
But Renji did none of that.
He just directly hugged her.

Renji patted Asuma Sarutobi's shoulder and said sincerely.
"The meal you gave Kurenai last time was very tasty. Remember to add more Sichuan peppercorns next time. I like them."
Because Renji spent money recklessly, he often ran short of cash. Whenever that happened, he occasionally went to Kurenai Yuhi's house to eat for free.
Asuma Sarutobi's mouth twitched slightly.
The meals he prepared for Kurenai Yuhi were all eaten by Renji.
Damn it.
He really wanted to draw his blade and challenge Renji to a duel right now.
Unfortunately, he would definitely lose badly.
Nara Shikamaru stood nearby with his hands behind his head and glanced lazily at Asuma Sarutobi before yawning and saying, "How troublesome."
"Wide-forehead Sakura, are you working hard? Our Team Ten has already completed five D-rank missions."
Ino Yamanaka said proudly with one hand on her hip as she looked at Sakura Haruno with a smug smile.
She secretly glanced at Sasuke.
Sasuke is so handsome.
Then she secretly glanced at Renji.
Was this white-haired man Teacher Asuma's love rival?
He really was handsome.
Even more handsome than Sasuke.
No wonder Teacher Asuma always looked so frustrated.
